Start the lesson with the objective, then revisit it at
the end of the lesson so learners can reflect on their
progress.
Point out the learning goals for each activity and
how they connect to the course learning objectives.

Observations and Evidence:
You explained the grammar and asked “do you
understand”.
You ask concept check questions e.g.“How do we
change ___ to past continuous?” and remind students
of form
You ask if there are words students don’t understand.
You instructed students to listen to more than one
song, simply listen.
10 students were logged in but only 6 were fully
participating.
Strengths:
You grade your language and use a variety of
materials and activity types to engage learners.
Areas for Improvement/Suggestions:
When you type answers in the chat, be sure to use
correct punctuation. Typing in the meeting chat is
reminiscent of texting but because you are modeling
the language it is important to be accurate.
Instead of asking students if there are words they do
not understand, provide support by pre-teaching
words you suspect are challenging, or provide a
meaningful memorable challenge by eliciting the
meaning.
Whenever doing listening activities, assign learners a
specific task. They need to know what to listen for.
Avoid using too many songs. It is better to exploit
one well than to play many without purposeful
activities.

You ask concept check questions e.g.“How do we change ___ to past continuous?” and remind students of form You ask if there are words students don’t understand. You instructed students to listen to more than one song, simply listen. 10 students were logged in but only 6 were fully participating. Strengths: You grade your language and use a variety of materials and activity types to engage learners. Areas for Improvement/Suggestions: When you type answers in the chat, be sure to use correct punctuation. Typing in the meeting chat is reminiscent of texting but because you are modeling the language it is important to be accurate. Instead of asking students if there are words they do not understand, provide support by pre-teaching words you suspect are challenging, or provide a meaningful memorable challenge by eliciting the meaning. Whenever doing listening activities, assign learners a specific task. They need to know what to listen for. Avoid using too many songs. It is better to exploit one well than to play many without purposeful activities.
