Description A bighorn sheep is a mammal.  A males weight is  300 pounds, and  a female’s  weight  is 200 pounds. The  Bighorn sheep ‘s  color  is dark chocolate brown. their covering is fur. They have  special  body  parts  like curved horn’s, and a rump.
Location The bighorn Sheep is located in north America and Siberia. You can find the Bighorn sheep almost anywhere in North America. Bighorn Sheep’s  habitat is rocky terrain. Bighorn Sheep’s home is found in the mountains, badlands, and mountain slopes.
Behavior Female bighorn sheep takes 6 months of pregnancy. Ewes and rams stay in a group as one watches out for danger. Bighorn sheep eat sage, holly, clover, grass, willow, and cactus. They are ruminant animals which means they sort of burp up their food cud rechew it. This is called “chewing the cud.”
Life span Rams fight with their horns butting as long as 20 hours.  Ewes  and rams mate in May and babies are born in November. The older Sheep get the bigger their horns get over a life span. Bighorn Sheep babies are called lambs and  may also be called juveniles. The lambs can start to walk just in one week.
Facts Bighorn Sheep are called different names because of their gender. Males are rams and females are called Ewes. Bighorn Sheep  become prey and are hunted for their horns and meat. The  Bighorn Sheep are named after the bighorn river. Ewes horns are more slender and less curved. I have learned a lot about the gender and life of Bighorn Sheep.
