Referral Program
Referral programs are an effective way to recruit good quality candidates.
Employees can better understand the company culture and assist
finding a suitable candidate within their own network. Candidates hired
through a referral process are typically on-boarded much more quicker
(see infographic)
Methods that can create a successful program:
• Cash referral bonus for employees
• Contests & Prizes (iPads, gift cards, etc)
• Indirect perks (extra vacation days, house cleaning services, etc)
• Bring a Wannabe-Viking to work day

How to develop effective relationships with
schools:
• Attend local college/university career fairs
• Conduct info sessions on campus with select groups (software developers,
game designers, etc)
• Post job opportunities (New Grads / Co-op) within their internal job boards
• Create initiatives to do joint live webinars (become subject-matter experts)
• Have current employees who are Alumni to be part of the info sessions at
campuses
• Conduct off-site Candidate Assessment Day (Hack-a-thon) to weed out
