BACKGROUND
1. I started my career as a Security Systems Engineer specializing in electronic
security. In recognition of my degree education with a major in telecommunications, I
was hired to handle high profile projects, which adopted advanced technologies. For
instance, I led the design and implementation of the first outdoor hybrid (wired and
wireless LAN/WAN) security surveillance project in Singapore, where both fiber
optics and microwave technologies were deployed. Among my other duties covered
a wide spectrum of responsibilities ranging from pre-sales technical advisory, to
system design and planning, and project management, including after sales services
for multi-national companies clientele. Over the years, my career progressed from a
Systems Engineer to Senior Engineer position to Solutions Manager, Security
Consultant and currently a Project Manager.
2. Through the 13 years of my working experience, I have acquired both professional
knowledge and soft skills required to deliver diverse assignments in physical security
planning and design for government, commercial and industrial sectors alike,
especially when dealing with stringent system requirements and project deliverables
in compliance to local and international standards, for e.g. ISO, BS, IEC, and
Singapore Standards.
3. With my strong proficiency towards security engineering and positive professional
attributes, I’m confident and prepared to assume new challenges in my career. My
personal beliefs in teamwork, keen interest on continuous improvement are key

22.1. Job Scope:
22.1.1. Design, plan and manage security system and enhancement works to
upgrade the Physical Security in protection of company assets,
comprising Critical Infrastructure (Electrical Substations) and corporate
offices of the Company.

government and commercial bodies.

by major petrochemical clients. The following were some of the
completed projects in oil and gas sector:

26.2. Duties:
26.2.1. Perform the entire process right from System Design to Functional
System Test Procedure for various Security Systems, mainly Access
Control System (ACS), Public Address & General Alarm (PA/GA)
System, Intrusion Detection System (IDS), CCTV Surveillance System
and Flame Protection System.
26.2.2. Ensure full compliance to system specifications, sourcing system
components, producing block diagram, wiring diagram, followed by
general assembly and detailed mounting drawings. In the final stage of
the project, a factory acceptance test (FAT) is carried out with the
customers’ presence before equipment is shipped to site for field
installation and site commissioning.
26.2.3. Conduct Product Evaluations for customers in line with justification on
the proposed brands of systems being chosen to meet the Project
Design Philosophy.
26.2.4. Support the Deputy Engineering Manager in enhancing the product
range so as to reduce restriction to specific brands/ make to be
considered in future projects.
27. Period : 2002 – May 2005
Company Name: ADEMCO (Far East) P/L. Singapore
Position: Senior Engineer
27.1. Job Scope:
27.1.1. A technical advisor to the Sales team on the appropriate system to
propose/ offer based on the given technical specifications. Among the
completed project highlights was a system proposal for British
Petroleum (BP) for its first Unmanned Hydrogen Refueling Site in Asia.
An example of higher level system achievements include setting up
Enterprise Security Management solutions, which enabled

Headquarters of MNC companies located in Dublin, US or in UK to
control & monitor their overseas security systems installed in their
regional offices across Asia, e.g. Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea & China.
Such applications allowed the remotely located sites to be seamlessly
connected to Global/Regional Centralized Security Command &
Control Center for central monitoring and reporting purposes.
27.2. Duties:
27.2.1. Handled project management for overseas MNC clients. The process
started from consultancy, system proposal, project management and
implementation, and ended with customer’s acceptance. Sample of
clients: Sybase, Inc. /Texas Instruments Inc. / Dell/ McAfee/ Discovery
Channel/ Avaya Communications.
27.2.2. Headed a team of technical officers in handling daily tasks of system
maintenance services in over 300 schools in Singapore of their
security systems, i.e. Intrusion Detection, Access Control and CCTV
surveillance systems. The job scope involved installation,
commissioning & end user trainings.
27.2.3. Headed a project team in the project implementation of the projects to
supply and install security systems for over 50 schools. A part of
involvement was to ensure consistent co-ordination works within
project team members, vendors, direct clients and the end users.
27.2.4. Undertook project management and engineering planning for the
installation of the island-wide Access Control Systems for Hewlett
Packard offices in Singapore adopting LENEL International system.
Part of responsibility included drafting scope of work and supplies for
the project and supervising the Technical Engineers and sub-
contractors to execute and ensure smooth delivery of projects. This
required interfacing with other team leaders, consultants, vendors and
external parties to ensure that the project was successfully completed
with total customer satisfaction.
27.2.5. A system integrator and product development specialist in assessing
the new products introduced to the company, especially those
covering a vast necessity of integrating Electronics Security with
various new/ existing systems, e.g. Intelligent Building Management
System.

a) System maintenance for the Access Control, Security &
Camera Surveillance systems.
27.3.2. SENTOSA Development
a) Successfully implemented the first Wireless Digital Video
Surveillance, applicable for the Fixed, & PTZ Cameras within
the exclusive residential development. The wireless network
developed was utilized to simultaneously view, control and
record remote cameras. The WLAN was based on 802.11
protocols.
27.3.3. OCBC Banking Corporations
a) Installed the Digital Video Surveillance systems for all bank
outlets in Singapore.
27.3.4. M1 Singapore
a) Commissioned the remote monitoring over phone line of the
digital video recorders set up in multiple M1 shops, and
centrally monitored at its headquarters.
27.3.5. Singapore Sports School (First in Singapore)
a) Completed a multi-systems setup inclusive of the Access
Control system integrated to the Lift Controller, Digital Video
Surveillance system, and Intrusion Detection Systems.
27.3.6. NAI Associates international
a) Implemented the IP-based monitoring system for the Intrusion
Detection Systems being installed at numerous NAI offices in
Hong Kong, Beijing & Seoul, which allowed instant access to
alarm messages being sent to the Central Monitoring Station
located in Singapore over LAN/WAN.
27.3.7. Seagate Technologies International
a) System setup of the Hand Geometry Recognition Systems to
record & minimize false entries of vendors’ daily attendance.

database was linked to the US head office via the WAN.

I started my career as a Security Systems Engineer specializing in electronic security. In recognition of my degree education with a major in telecommunications, I was hired to handle high profile projects, which adopted advanced technologies. For instance, I led the design and implementation of the first outdoor hybrid (wired and wireless LAN/WAN) security surveillance project in Singapore, where both fiber optics and microwave technologies were deployed. Over the years, my career progressed from a Systems Engineer to Senior Engineer position to Solutions Manager, Security Consultant and currently a Project Manager. 2. Through the 13 years of my working experience, I have acquired both professional knowledge and soft skills required to deliver diverse assignments in physical security planning and design for government, commercial and industrial sectors alike, especially when dealing with stringent system requirements and project deliverables in compliance to local and international standards, for e.g. ISO, BS, IEC, and Singapore Standards. 3. Duties: 26.2.1. Perform the entire process right from System Design to Functional System Test Procedure for various Security Systems, mainly Access Control System (ACS), Public Address & General Alarm (PA/GA) System, Intrusion Detection System (IDS), CCTV Surveillance System and Flame Protection System. 26.2.2. Ensure full compliance to system specifications, sourcing system components, producing block diagram, wiring diagram, followed by general assembly and detailed mounting drawings. In the final stage of the project, a factory acceptance test (FAT) is carried out with the customers’ presence before equipment is shipped to site for field installation and site commissioning. 26.2.3. Conduct Product Evaluations for customers in line with justification on the proposed brands of systems being chosen to meet the Project Design Philosophy. 26.2.4. Support the Deputy Engineering Manager in enhancing the product range so as to reduce restriction to specific brands/ make to be considered in future projects. 27. Period : 2002 – May 2005 Company Name: ADEMCO (Far East) P/L. Singapore Position: Senior Engineer 27.1. Job Scope: 27.1.1. A technical advisor to the Sales team on the appropriate system to propose/ offer based on the given technical specifications. Among the completed project highlights was a system proposal for British Petroleum (BP) for its first Unmanned Hydrogen Refueling Site in Asia. An example of higher level system achievements include setting up Enterprise Security Management solutions, which enabled

Such applications allowed the remotely located sites to be seamlessly connected to Global/Regional Centralized Security Command & Control Center for central monitoring and reporting purposes. 27.2. Duties: 27.2.1. Handled project management for overseas MNC clients. The process started from consultancy, system proposal, project management and implementation, and ended with customer’s acceptance. Sample of clients: Sybase, Inc. /Texas Instruments Inc. / Dell/ McAfee/ Discovery Channel/ Avaya Communications. 27.2.2. Headed a team of technical officers in handling daily tasks of system maintenance services in over 300 schools in Singapore of their security systems, i.e. Intrusion Detection, Access Control and CCTV surveillance systems. The job scope involved installation, commissioning & end user trainings. 27.2.3. Headed a project team in the project implementation of the projects to supply and install security systems for over 50 schools. A part of involvement was to ensure consistent co-ordination works within project team members, vendors, direct clients and the end users. 27.2.4. Undertook project management and engineering planning for the installation of the island-wide Access Control Systems for Hewlett Packard offices in Singapore adopting LENEL International system. Part of responsibility included drafting scope of work and supplies for the project and supervising the Technical Engineers and sub- contractors to execute and ensure smooth delivery of projects. This required interfacing with other team leaders, consultants, vendors and external parties to ensure that the project was successfully completed with total customer satisfaction. 27.2.5. A system integrator and product development specialist in assessing the new products introduced to the company, especially those covering a vast necessity of integrating Electronics Security with various new/ existing systems, e.g. Intelligent Building Management System.

SENTOSA Development a) Successfully implemented the first Wireless Digital Video Surveillance, applicable for the Fixed, & PTZ Cameras within the exclusive residential development. The wireless network developed was utilized to simultaneously view, control and record remote cameras. The WLAN was based on 802.11 protocols. 27.3.3. OCBC Banking Corporations a) Installed the Digital Video Surveillance systems for all bank outlets in Singapore. 27.3.4. M1 Singapore a) Commissioned the remote monitoring over phone line of the digital video recorders set up in multiple M1 shops, and centrally monitored at its headquarters. 27.3.5. Singapore Sports School (First in Singapore) a) Completed a multi-systems setup inclusive of the Access Control system integrated to the Lift Controller, Digital Video Surveillance system, and Intrusion Detection Systems. 27.3.6. NAI Associates international a) Implemented the IP-based monitoring system for the Intrusion Detection Systems being installed at numerous NAI offices in Hong Kong, Beijing & Seoul, which allowed instant access to alarm messages being sent to the Central Monitoring Station located in Singapore over LAN/WAN. 27.3.7. Seagate Technologies International a) System setup of the Hand Geometry Recognition Systems to record & minimize false entries of vendors’ daily attendance. 27.4. Period : 1999 – 2000 Company Name : Matsushita Kotobuki P/L, Singapore Position : Senior Engineering Assistant 28.1. Job Scope: 28.1.1. Assisted the Process Engineer in ensuring a smooth process flow on the production floor. 28.1.2. Produced work instructions for safety controls of activities within production lines. 28.1.3. Worked closely with Maintenance team to rectify machine faults, in the efforts to increase production yields and overall efficiency & effectiveness of production floor.
