This document provides guidance on writing behaviourally-based interview questions and includes sample questions. It explains that behavioural interviews seek to understand what someone did in past situations rather than hypothetical scenarios. The sample questions provided are designed to assess capabilities required for a role and follow the STAR model to elicit relevant stories from applicants. Five questions are given as examples for each of 27 capabilities to help interviewers construct effective behaviourally-based questions for interviews and references checks.
