A battery room houses batteries that provide backup power during brief electric outages for facilities like data centers and telecommunication offices. Batteries store direct current and provide power for minutes to days depending on the system, powering uninterruptible power supplies during seconds-long outages. Flooded lead-acid, valve regulated lead-acid, or nickel-cadmium batteries are often installed in series groups to provide 12, 24, 48 or 60 volts of DC power.
