Personalities Influences of the Parents of Adolescent Children and their Style of Parenting
Introduction
The study investigated the relationship between the personalities of the parents of adolescent children and their style of parenting. The issue of parenting style and the behaviour of teenage children brings multiple perspectives from various individuals. Some perceive that being authoritarian to them may bring positive behaviour while others neglect the idea. Personality is identified as the stable complex features in which individual life pattern would be seen (Ferguson Eva Dreikurs et al 43). It is the way of relatively enduring things in which one behaves, thinks and feels. The behaviour of parents and adolescent children is related to personality. The research assessed parental personality traits that are agreeableness, extraversion, and neuroticism and derived parenting styles that are authoritarian, democratic and neglectful. The family is the bedrock of the community and it can either shape or destroy the life of a child. Though environmental factors affect personality development, parents have significant impacts on children behaviour. When a child matures to adolescent remains a child to their parents. Children ought to be evaluated when it comes to their entire environment with the inclusion of whatever negative or positive parental influences that could exist, this is according to Group counseling and psychotherapy with children and adolescents. I have learned that one of the most refreshing impacts concerning parents is because mainly we work with their kids who are reaching the adolescent stage in regions of their personal/social, academic success, career development, and realm. Their work comprises of working in intervention and prevention (Denno et al., 2015). Counselors help students like who undergo rough times, for instance, in adolescent and help them in enlightening their skills of resilience to be equipped better in case of hitting tough times in the future.
The adolescent stage is characterized by uneven and dramatic integration of changes that are developmental into the day to day lives of young persons. Simultaneously, teenagers experience growing independence from their families, mood swings, and at times, rapidly increasing sexuality. The tasks of talking to them usually start within the units of the family. Often, as guardians, we tend to view our teens as fragile thus visit our pediatricians or doctors since we see them as people whom to seek advice from regarding both behavioral and physiologic issues (Shechtman, 2017). The ongoing relationship with the pediatrician and the family gives for enough prospects to offer support and guidance that is anticipated as our kids get into and move through the stage of adolescence.
Determinants of Parenting
As we all know, the parent-child relationship has a massive influence on most aspects of the development of a child. When behaviors, parenting skills, and optimal capabilities have a positive effect on the school achievement or self-esteem of a child, there is positive behavior and development on the kids.

These are effective when it comes to family counseling and help in coming to terms with the stage or any disorder that could arise in the process.
As far as I am concerned, therapy is vital when looking at parenting approaches. This is because when an individual is a child, through adolescent to when they mature to being adults, they require guideline on being better per.
Impact of Employment of Mothers on Self Concept of Adolescentsinventionjournals
ABSTRACT: Employment of women has become increasingly significant in the lives of women. The pertinent question that arises: Is the women happier and provide better parenting to their adolescents by relinquishing the traditional role or by combining the two roles? An attempt has been made to examine the effect of parenting of employed mothers on self-concept of their adolescents. A total of 200 parents were consisted for this study. 100 parents were with employed mothers and 100 were with homemaker mothers. 50 adolescent girls and 50 boys were further selected for measuring their self-concept from the schools of Dehradun, Haridwar and Roorkee district of Uttarakhand State, India. Parent child relationship scale was administered on parents and self-concept scale on adolescents. Study revealed significant difference in favour of parenting of homemaker mothers in the dimensions of marital conflict vs. marital adjustment and the faulty role expectations vs. realistic role expectations. Employed mother’s adolescents showed high self-concept on the dimension of social, temperamental and on total self concept. Boys of the same group found to be high self-concept on physical and temperamental and girls on the dimension of social self concept than the counter group. Implication of this research from the perspective of women employment and their parenting of adolescents regarding self-concept have been discussed.

Family structures are an important contributor to the physiological and behavioral development of students. It is hypothesized that personality development of students living with single parent is influenced by the type of family structure, parent with whom the child lives with and the amount of time spent by parents with their children. To investigate such influence, this study employed a cross-sectional co-relational research design. A snow ball sampling technique was used to identify respondents for sample. The study used a sample 60 students whereby 50% were from single parent homes and 50% from intact homes. Data was collected by use of questionnaire designed to identify factors that contribute to personality development of students. Personality development was measured using the Big Five dimensions of personality trait parameters namely openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, neuroticism. The analysis was presented using frequencies, percentages, t-test, independent test and one way ANOVA tests. Statistical Package for Social Sciences was used to aid in generating a summary of results which were represented in tabular form. The findings of the study showed that there was very little influence of family structure on the personality development of the students. The absence of a parent or the interaction and involvement of parents with their children doesn’t have an immense effect on the personality development of the children, thus the amount of time spent by parents with their children doesn’t influence the personality development of students. The results also revealed that the major causes of the existence of single parent families are death and divorce.

Standard 1 of NAEYC's Early Childhood Program Standards and Accreditation Criteria (2005a) states, "The program promotes positive relationships among all children and adults to encourage each child's sense of individual worth and belonging as part of a community and to foster each child's ability to contribute as a responsible community member" (p. 9). The rationale for the standard is that positive relationships and a positive, nurturing, sensitive climate are essential for the development of emotional regulation, constructive interactions, and overall learning in children (NAEYC, 2005a). Children develop a positive sense of self, and they are encouraged to respect and cooperate with others.
However, problems, conflicts, disagreements, and distrust can—and often do—develop. These can occur between the family and the program, between staff within the programs—staff to staff, directors and staff, staff and consultants—and between children in the program. When this occurs, caregivers need to engage in problem solving. While no family or early care and education program is ever totally without conflicts and issues to solve, the goal is, firstly, to create an environment where constructive problem solving can take place and, secondly, to be able to constructively solve problems.
Feelings
Conflicts, confusion, and disagreements can cause intense feelings among those involved. To address conflicts and disagreements, we must try to determine where these feelings come from. In the heat of the moment, this will probably not be possible, but once we have had time to reflect, we need to look at the feelings that disagreements and problems produce.
We all have feelings, and it is very important to accept and appreciate these feelings. We need to reflect on our feelings and on why certain things make us feel a certain way. Feelings are complex, subjective experiences that involve physical and mental aspects of self—they can be felt, expressed, acted on, and thought about (Greenspan & Greenspan, 1985). All feelings have value and are useful—even ones we view as negative. Feelings are how we react to experiences, and they help us organize and make sense of our world. The great works of art, music, drama, and dance are based on feelings—some pleasant, and some dark and tragic.
We learn about feelings from our childhood experiences. When children are young, adults label the child's emotions: "That bang scared you!" "The dog's bark upset you!" Part of this socialization process is to help children know how to respond to the environment—for safety, to develop appropriate reactions to the environment, and to teach children culturally appropriate responses to their feelings. Other feelings, such as those of love, trust, fear, excitement, and surprise, are natural responses to the environment that help us feel good about ourselves and the social environment (Rogers, 1980).

However, parents’ work and family commitments avert most of family members from being physically present and involved in activities together that promote learning and development. At the extreme, child neglect is associated with poor outcomes for children, including the development of emotional and behavior disorders (Cicchetti, Lynch, 1995). American families are not following healthy relationship standards, not providing enough support and guidance to youth, leaving their communities distant and unsociable. Time spent with parents is important for socialization, development of relationships, and learning appropriate ‘life tasks’ for young children. Healthy family relationships fuel the health of all families, building strong communities and composing a future for ourselves one generation at a time. As a civilization, it is in our best interest to make a conscious choice: to make family life a priority and apply ourselves toward improving the quantity and quality of time families spend together, and increasing overall the happiness of today’s families and communities.

Statement of the Problem
For reasons that significantly vary in nature and are difficult to verify, American families are not following a healthy design. YMCA of the USA polled 1,005 parents from across the United States, investigating how much support and success they experience in raising healthy, responsible, and caring children and teenagers. Among those surveyed, 46 percent feel overwhelmed by everything, 34 percent feel unsupported by family or friends, and a staggering 52 percent feel that they are unprepared for a situation that arises, overall feeling dissatisfied with their parenting. To further dismay, in the same study, a majority (53 percent) of parents surveyed said they don’t often seek support in the vital and challenging task of raising children and teenagers. This devastating combination of dissatisfactory parenting and inability to seek help lands American.

Elaine has worked in the IMCU of a community hospital for 11 years. She is one of the best nurses, and serves as a preceptor and a resource for other nurses on the unit. The McDonald’s ‘Beef Fries’ Controversy

A CONTROVERSY ERUPTS
In May 2001, a class action lawsuit

was filed against the world‘s largest fast-food chain
McDonald‘s, in Seattle, US. The lawsuit alleged that the company had, for over a decade, duped
vegetarian customers into eating French fries

that contained beef extracts. The lawsuit followed a
spate of media reports detailing how the French fries served at McDonald‘s were falsely promoted
as being ‗100% vegetarian.‘
Although McDonald‘s initially declined to comment on the issue, the company issued a
‗conditional apology,‘ admitting to using beef flavoring in the fries. The furore over the matter
seemed to be settling down, when to McDonald‘s horror, some of its restaurants in India were
vandalized. Activists of Hindu fundamentalist groups – the Shiv Sena, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad
(VHP) and the Bajrang Dal, staged a demonstration in front of the McDonald‘s head office in
Delhi protesting the alleged use of beef flavouring. They submitted a memorandum to the Prime
Minister, demanding the closure of all McDonald‘s outlets in the country.
Activists also staged protests in front of McDonald‘s restaurants in south Mumbai and Thane.
Mobs ransacked the outlet at Thane, broke the glass panes and smeared the McDonald‘s mascot
Ronald with cow dung. About 30 people were arrested and later let off on bail. Company officials

Standard 1 of NAEYC's Early Childhood Program Standards and Accreditation Criteria (2005a) states, "The program promotes positive relationships among all children and adults to encourage each child's sense of individual worth and belonging as part of a community and to foster each child's ability to contribute as a responsible community member" (p. 9). The rationale for the standard is that positive relationships and a positive, nurturing, sensitive climate are essential for the development of emotional regulation, constructive interactions, and overall learning in children (NAEYC, 2005a). Children develop a positive sense of self, and they are encouraged to respect and cooperate with others.
However, problems, conflicts, disagreements, and distrust can—and often do—develop. These can occur between the family and the program, between staff within the programs—staff to staff, directors and staff, staff and consultants—and between children in the program. When this occurs, caregivers need to engage in problem solving. While no family or early care and education program is ever totally without conflicts and issues to solve, the goal is, firstly, to create an environment where constructive problem solving can take place and, secondly, to be able to constructively solve problems.
Feelings
Conflicts, confusion, and disagreements can cause intense feelings among those involved. To address conflicts and disagreements, we must try to determine where these feelings come from. In the heat of the moment, this will probably not be possible, but once we have had time to reflect, we need to look at the feelings that disagreements and problems produce.
We all have feelings, and it is very important to accept and appreciate these feelings. We need to reflect on our feelings and on why certain things make us feel a certain way. Feelings are complex, subjective experiences that involve physical and mental aspects of self—they can be felt, expressed, acted on, and thought about (Greenspan & Greenspan, 1985). All feelings have value and are useful—even ones we view as negative. Feelings are how we react to experiences, and they help us organize and make sense of our world. The great works of art, music, drama, and dance are based on feelings—some pleasant, and some dark and tragic.
We learn about feelings from our childhood experiences. When children are young, adults label the child's emotions: "That bang scared you!" "The dog's bark upset you!" Part of this socialization process is to help children know how to respond to the environment—for safety, to develop appropriate reactions to the environment, and to teach children culturally appropriate responses to their feelings. Other feelings, such as those of love, trust, fear, excitement, and surprise, are natural responses to the environment that help us feel good about ourselves and the social environment (Rogers, 1980).

At the extreme, child neglect is associated with poor outcomes for children, including the development of emotional and behavior disorders (Cicchetti, Lynch, 1995). American families are not following healthy relationship standards, not providing enough support and guidance to youth, leaving their communities distant and unsociable. Time spent with parents is important for socialization, development of relationships, and learning appropriate ‘life tasks’ for young children. Healthy family relationships fuel the health of all families, building strong communities and composing a future for ourselves one generation at a time. For reasons that significantly vary in nature and are difficult to verify, American families are not following a healthy design. YMCA of the USA polled 1,005 parents from across the United States, investigating how much support and success they experience in raising healthy, responsible, and caring children and teenagers. Among those surveyed, 46 percent feel overwhelmed by everything, 34 percent feel unsupported by family or friends, and a staggering 52 percent feel that they are unprepared for a situation that arises, overall feeling dissatisfied with their parenting. To further dismay, in the same study, a majority (53 percent) of parents surveyed said they don’t often seek support in the vital and challenging task of raising children and teenagers. This devastating combination of dissatisfactory parenting and inability to seek help lands American.

A CONTROVERSY ERUPTS
In May 2001, a class action lawsuit

was filed against the world‘s largest fast-food chain
McDonald‘s, in Seattle, US. The lawsuit alleged that the company had, for over a decade, duped
vegetarian customers into eating French fries

that contained beef extracts. The lawsuit followed a
spate of media reports detailing how the French fries served at McDonald‘s were falsely promoted
as being ‗100% vegetarian.‘
Although McDonald‘s initially declined to comment on the issue, the company issued a
‗conditional apology,‘ admitting to using beef flavoring in the fries. The furore over the matter
seemed to be settling down, when to McDonald‘s horror, some of its restaurants in India were
vandalized. Activists of Hindu fundamentalist groups – the Shiv Sena, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad
(VHP) and the Bajrang Dal, staged a demonstration in front of the McDonald‘s head office in
Delhi protesting the alleged use of beef flavouring. They submitted a memorandum to the Prime
Minister, demanding the closure of all McDonald‘s outlets in the country.
Activists also staged protests in front of McDonald‘s restaurants in south Mumbai and Thane.
Mobs ransacked the outlet at Thane, broke the glass panes and smeared the McDonald‘s mascot
Ronald with cow dung. About 30 people were arrested and later let off on bail. Company officials
estimated the loss to the outlet at Rs 2 million.

Because of the difficulties that expatriates face, some firms have begun a policy of “inpatriation” (a concept discussed further in the Debate section of chapter 13), whereby they relocate foreigners to the host country, with the expectation that after a period of time, they will replace expatriates. While this provides the MNE with a source of workers who do not face cultural obstacles, some significant problems remain. First, inpatriates, who are paid the going rate in the MNE’s home country, are often disappointed or upset when they go to the host country, where salaries are much lower. Second, many inpatriates are ineffective because of their ambiguous position. While the headquarters views inpatriates as “us” because of their time in the home country, other HCNs also view them as “us” because of their common ethnicity.

Women engage in a variety of beauty practices, or “beauty work,” to enhance their
physical appearance, such as applying cosmetics, tanning, or exercising. Although
the rewards of physical attractiveness are well documented, perceptions of both the
women who engage in efforts to enhance their appearance and the high-effort
beauty products marketed to them are not well understood. Across seven studies,
we demonstrate that consumers judge women who engage in certain types of ex-
tensive beauty work as possessing poorer moral character. These judgments occur
only for effortful beauty work perceived as transformative (significantly altering ap-
pearance) and transient (lasting a relatively short time), such that they emerge
within cosmetics and tanning, yet not skincare or exercise. This effect is mediated
by the perception that putting high effort into one’s appearance signals a willingness
to misrepresent one’s true self, and translates into lower purchase intentions for
higher-effort cosmetics. We identify several boundary conditions, including the at-
tractiveness of the woman performing the beauty work and whether the effort is at-
tributed to external norms or causes. In examining how beauty work elicits moral
judgments, we also shed light on why effortful cosmetic use is viewed negatively,
yet effortful products continue to be commercially successful.

T hroughout history, women have gone to great lengthsto enhance their physical appearance. Queen Elizabeth I inspired a generation of women to coat theirfaces with lead to achieve the perfect pale complexion, and
Victorian ladies removed their ribs to whittle down their
waists (Corson 1972/2003). While modern beauty rituals
may be less extreme, we continue to see consumers engage
in extensive “beauty work,” defined as the beauty practices
people perform on themselves to elicit certain benefits
within a social hierarchy (Kwan and Trautner 2009). These
practices are often effortful, such as popular multistep
Korean skincare regimens (Chang 2011) or trends in con-
touring and strobing, where layers of make-up are carefully
applied to highlight facial features (Cardellino 2015). Even
mundane routines such as styling hair or applying cosmet-
ics often require significant time and care. Interestingly,
while research acknowledges that physical attractiveness
can be enhanced through beauty work (Etcoff et al. 2011;
Kwan and Trautner 2009), it has not examined how the

1. What position/positions in your organization are accountable for workplace relations in your organization? What impact do they have? What programs are in place to impact relations at work? Provide specific examples.
My organization is unique. As a member of the IG, I am tasked with inspecting other organizations for compliance, readiness, resource management, and training. Most military organizations have a commander who is responsible for workplace relations in the organizations. The commander ‘s responsibilities include executing the mission, leading people, managing resources, and improving the unit (Air Force Instruction 1-2, 2014).
The commander is responsible for the organization but is not alone. The First Sergeant is responsible for ensuring the force understands the commander’s goals, objectives, and policies. The first Sergeant must communicate with other leaders in the unit and be familiar with personnel programs, professional military education, financial needs, family matters to include housing (Air Force Instruction 36-2113, 2014).
There are many other personnel responsible for workplace relations in the organization. Supervisors at all levels, Equal Opportunity, the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response office, the Inspector General, and the legal office. All these key organizations play a role in the organizations under their span of control.
2. If you were an HR manager in a private-sector organization, what key programs would you implement to improve employee-employer relations? Why?
The first program I would implement is streamlined communication. If assigned to a large organization I would look at developing a smart phone application to help with the follow of communication. Employees want to know where they fit in the organization and what they are working toward (Smith, 2017).
Another program I would ensure was developed was a recognition program. Gallup recently completed a survey showing fifty-three percent of employees are not engaged, another survey showed workers who give their management a lower rating is more likely to apply or interview for other positions (Duran, 2020).
Finally, a program I believe is essential today is a career development program. In a survey in 2018, forty-two percent of millennials said their current employer provide learning, development, and training opportunities (Witkin, 2018). Eighty six percent of millennials say they would stay at their current job if the company offered development training opportunities (Duran, 2020).
3. How would you determine the added value of your programs?
As with most programs a Return on Investment (ROI) Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) should be performed. A BCR greater than one shows the program has worth and is not losing the organization money (Kaminski, & Lopes, 2009). ROI was deemed impossible to calculate for human resources, but that is no longer the case (SHRM, 2016).

Continuous Variable
The continuous variable I selected is “Problems w/Public Health Clinics”. The means for this data is 7.43, the median is 7.4335 and the mode is 0. For the variable, the mean is the best measure it incorporates every value of this variable making it more representative of the variable (Frankfort-Nachmias, Leon-Guerrero, & Davis, 2020). The standard deviation is 5.11961, this number represents the difference of the data points from the mean. This number means that the scores regarding problems with health clinics differed from the mean by 5.11961. The variance is 26.210 describes the degree to which the data points are spread. I would describe this variable as having a lot of variability and extreme. Those that had no problems with public clinics more than double the amount of those that had a median amount of problems and triple those that had lots of problems.
Categorical Variable
Categorical variables are nominal or ordinal and cannot be described with mean or median. The best central tendency for these variables are mode, which is the score that shows up most frequently (Frankfort-Nachmias, Leon-Guerrero, & Davis, 2020). The categorical variable I selected is “country’s present economic condition compared to 12 months ago”, is mode is a tie for same and better all with the frequency of 2872 and a percent of 27.8%. This variable has low variability. Most of the participants believe there has been a small change or no change in economic conditions over the past 12 months.

The consensus of the American security experts interviewed for the documentary is that climate changes are occurring and that a certain amount of change is already built in and will continue to occur over the course of our lifetimes.
Many places in the documentary describe large-scale displacements of people due to changing climate factors where millions and tens of millions of people have been forced to re-locate to secure food and water. The experts unanimously point out the de-stabilizing effects of these mass migrations for the countries who receive them.
Do we have an ethical obligation to assist people caught up in these large-scale movements of people to help them secure the basic necessities of food, water, and a secure way of life. Why or why not?

Personalities Influences of the Parents of Adolescent Children
and their Style of Parenting
Introduction
The study investigated the relationship between the
personalities of the parents of adolescent children and their
style of parenting. The issue of parenting style and the
behaviour of teenage children brings multiple perspectives from
various individuals. Some perceive that being authoritarian to
them may bring positive behaviour while others neglect the
idea. Personality is identified as the stable complex features in
which individual life pattern would be seen (Ferguson Eva
Dreikurs et al 43). It is the way of relatively enduring things in
which one behaves, thinks and feels. The behaviour of parents
and adolescent children is related to personality. The research
assessed parental personality traits that are agreeableness,
extraversion, and neuroticism and derived parenting styles
that are authoritarian, democratic and neglectful. The family is
the bedrock of the community and it can either shape or destroy
the life of a child. Though environmental factors affect
personality development, parents have significant impacts on
children behaviour. When a child matures to adolescent remains
a child to their parents. The researcher will investigate how
democratic, authoritarian neglectful parenting styles influence
the personality of parents of adolescent children. Comment by

The society has expectations of every adolescent child based on
norms and values each community holds. Individuals are needed
to pass through some processes and experience that conform
them to societal standards. Also, the media that is television,
radio, newspapers, social media and movies portray that parents
have great influence on the behaviour of children from being
teenagers to adulthood (Huver Rose et al 399). Therefore,
parents should nurture their children well by providing
necessities like clothes, shelter, food and education as while as
helping them to accomplish their future goals. Despite the
different steps being passed, there are various patterns of
behaviours both the unacceptable and acceptable ones among
mature children. It has influenced the duties of persons in
academic, home as while as the community. The parents,
therefore, have a significant role on personality particularly on
adolescent children when they are susceptible to various live
styles both negative and positive.
Objectives of the Study

and democratic parenting style and the personality trait of
agreeableness of parents among adolescent children

Findings
The study found out that agreeableness parenting traits have
significant impacts on the behaviour of teenage children.
Agreeableness is the dominant personality traits where a person
who possesses this trait is warm, courteous and friendly. They
are an optimistic and great desire to help. The agreeableness has
a sub-trait for example trust, sympathy, modesty, cooperation,
altruism, and morality. The study observes that democratic
parenting style is significantly linked with agreeableness trait
since parents who have this trait always appreciate the children
and involves them in decision making, they prioritize their
interests, they work to please them as while as being helpful,
considerate and kind (Wolfradt, Uwe, Susanne Hempel &
Jeremy NV Miles 528). Also, they are not suspicious or
prejudiced thus they don’t discriminate their children, they are
good nurtures, humble, compassionate, cooperative, honest and
emotionally supportive. Therefore, the study observed that
democratic leadership is vital since it supports adolescent
children by encouraging them to be innovative as while as
impacting problem-solving skills towards daily activities.

From the research, the extraversion parenting trait goes hand in
4. hand with authoritarian leadership styles and may influence the
behaviour of the adolescent. Extraversion implies energetic,
sociability, assertiveness and talkativeness (Huver Rose et al
397). They thrive on enthusiastic, excitement and they are
action-oriented. Extraversion comprises of sub-traits that is
friendliness, gregariousness, assuredness, activity level,
cheerfulness and enthusiasm seeking. The study observes that
there is a link between authoritarian leadership styles and
extraversion traits. Adolescent children of extravert parents
likely tend to portray negative behaviour because they lack
influences. They guide their children with authority because
they are poor listeners, likes conflict, dominates interactions
and does not involve them in decision making (Aunola, Kaisa,
Håkan Stattin & Jari-Erik Nurmi 215). Due to this, adolescent
children become aggressive, naughty, lack creativity in
problem-solving thus failing to accomplish the goals in future.

Additionally, the research observes that the neglectful
leadership style is associated with emotion stability or
neuroticism parenting traits and have impacts on adolescent

with worry, fear, anger, anxiety, frustration, envy, jealousy,
loneliness and depressed mood. Such people are sometimes shy
and self-conscious as they have problems in controlling urges as
while as delaying gratification. The parents who have
neuroticism traits portrays neglectful parenting styles to their
adolescent children which means lack of parental care to
children. Such parents may avoid children so that they cannot
cater for them. Neglectful or uninvolved parenting is
influencing by emotional detachment, too many problems, the
influence of abusive substances and drugs, lack of supervision
and low expectations (Ferguson Eva Dreikurs et al 43).
Therefore, neglectful parents tend to affect the behaviour of
adolescent children. For instance, they tend to become
emotionally weak, they fail to differentiate wrong or right, and

Conclusion
In conclusion, the research observes that there is a relationship
between the personalities to the parents of adolescent children
and their style of parenting. The paper showed agreeableness
traits is closely associated with democratic parenting style
while extraversion personality trait linked with authoritarian
leadership style while emotional stability trait was related to
neglectful parenting style. The issue of parenting styles has
been a global problem varying across ethnic groups,
socioeconomic status and cultures (Metsäpelto, Riitta‐Leena &
Lea Pulkkinen 65). It has risen an argument regarding the
relationship between child development and parenting. It is
assumed that families may use multiple disciplinary techniques,
emotional strategies and parenting practices that are influenced
by contexts of cultural beliefs, situational demands, features of
a child and parenting to shape their adolescent children.

7. Yisheng is trying to figure out what kinds of education pattern
is the best one both for parents and children, whether or not be
strict to child is good, and what influences will have under this
kind of education pattern. In his essay, studies from other
scholars are his primary research methods. Also, quoting other
authors’ materials and research results is his way to make his
essay more credible and persuasive for his audiences.
Evaluative Response:
What kinds of style of parenting is also a social topic which be
talked about all the time in China. I believe the author also has
his own opinions about this issue, and his essay successfully
proved that his arguments through combining other scholars
researches with his own thoughts. Abundant quotations and
studies’ results the author used in his essay add the credibility.
Also, the subtitle like introduction, background of information,
objectives of study, findings, conclusions clearly divided his
passage into several different parts, which provides a clear
structure both for himself and the readers. However, I still have
several suggestions which hope is helpful to him. First of all, it
is about the sources you used in passage. You always give
straight to your audiences about the results of the studies,
instead of telling us the process of it. I will advise you to
specify and give more details to your readers about what kinds
of study it is , what is the process of the study, and what is the
purpose of doing this study. I believe tell more about this study
is more important than tell the result to your audiences, which
also could add your credibility. Secondly, I think you always
cite a really long sentence from other scholars. I can understand
that citing other scholars’ research results and sentences will
make your passage more persuasive or you have great resonate
with them. However, sometimes you can express your hugh
agreement through paraphrasing and stating the opinion through
your words. That’s would be great and also can add the
credibility for your essay. Last but not least, it is better to use
some statistics or personal experiences to further support your
arguments. The style of parenting is varied from person to

about your family’s education pattern and your influence under
this style of patenting. No matter it is “positive” or “negative”,
your personal examples will help your passage more credible
