1. ADOPTION OF BASIC EDUCATION RESEARCH AGENDA
(DepEd Order No. 39, s. 2016)
2. Rationale
The Department of Education adopts the Basic Education
Research Agenda to provide guidance to DepEd and its
stakeholders in the conduct of education research and in
the utilization of research results to inform the
Department’s planning, policy, and program development
aligned with its vision, mission, and core values.
(Recently, it has to be aligned to the Basic Education
Development of the Philippines (BEDP) 2030.)
3. Rationale
The Research Agenda identifies research topics that will fill in
critical knowledge gaps and respond to pressing concerns in the
Philippine basic education. By articulating specific study areas,
this seeks to:
❑ Build on gains from existing research;
❑ Generate new knowledge on less explored but priority fields of
basic education;
❑ Systematically focus DepEd’s attention on relevant education
issues
❑ Maximize resources for research within and outside DepEd.
