3. Surrender 101
Psa 51:17
• If you want to move a train, you don’t need a new engine, just
need to light the fire and get the steam up in the engine.
• What is insanity? Doing things the same way while expecting
different results
• The Christian is a partner with a live-giving Spirit and hence when
we surrender, we can expect great things from God.
• Surrender is a blank sheet of paper with our named signed at the
bottom with a prayer “Father, you fill the blanks, you write the
instructions, you give the directions. I give you all I have to give.”
• And we start by giving attention to BASICS and stretching
ourselves to be more like the Father.
4. Praise 101
Αcceptable worship doesn’t happen spontaneously- you must
prepare yourself. "We only prepare for what we think is important.”
Worship must be practiced constantly (Heb 13:15, Psa 34:1)
Hebrews 10:22.
并我们心中天良的亏欠已经洒去,身体用清水洗净了,就当存着诚心,和充足的
信心,来到神面前。
let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having
our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our
bodies washed with pure water.
It begins with the phrase “let us draw near”
Read Psa 24:3-4. What is the attitude for drawing near?
Read 2 Tim 2:21 What is the action for praise?
If we should draw near for personal worship, shouldn’t we draw near when leading
worship too? Our public worship must be an outgrowth of our private worship .
5. Praise 101
Worship is to feel in our heart a feeling about the Lord our God.
1. Make sure you are right with God. Matthew 5:8, Psalm 66:18, 1John 1:9
2. Quiet your heart. Luke 10:42
3. Surrender your heart to God. Matthew 15:7-9
4. Come with a humble heart. 2Chronicles 7:14
5. We sing to the Lord publicly and privately (Psa 96:1-2)
6. We follow the biblical pattern of worship (Col 3:1-17)
When do you prepare yourself for worship?
How do you prepare yourself for worship?
Worshiping is an act of obedience. We are commanded to worship. “Enter into His
gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and
bless His name” (Psalm 100:4 KJV). So regardless of what we feel, we are to worship
Worship is an act of servanthood (Mat 20:28)
In 2 Cor 9:11-14, read how worship is linked to encouraging others.
6. Praise 101
Q: Why did Paul suddenly in 1 Tim 1:17 spontaneously
worship with this phrase?
但愿尊贵,荣耀归与那不能朽坏不能看见永世的君王,
独一的神,直到永永远远。阿们。
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God,
be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
What made Paul worship?
7. Praise 101
我感谢那给我力量的,我们主基督耶稣,因他以我有忠心,派我服事他。
I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he
considered me faithful, appointing me to his service.
我从前是亵渎神的,逼迫人的,侮慢人的。然而我还蒙了怜悯,因我是不信不
明白的时候而作的。
Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I
was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief.
并且我主的恩是格外丰盛,使我在基督耶稣里有信心和爱心。
The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the
faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
基督耶稣降世,为要拯救罪人。这话是可信的,是十分可佩服的。在罪人中
我是个罪魁。
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus
came into the world to save sinners--of whom I am the worst.
然而我蒙了怜悯,是因耶稣基督要在我这罪魁身上,显明他一切的忍耐,给
后来信他得永生的人作榜样。
But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of
sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example
for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life.
8. BASIC. 基本.
FEAR OF GOD. What does it mean?
Deuteronomy 10:12
And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of
you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in
obedience to him, to love him, to serve the LORD your
God with all your heart and with all your soul,
Deuteronomy 10:20
Fear the LORD your God and serve him. Hold fast to
him and take your oaths in his name.
9. Romans 3:18
Do you fear God? “There is no fear of God before
their eyes.”
Revelation 14:7
He said in a loud voice, “Fear God
and give him glory, because the
hour of his judgment has come.
Worship him who made the
heavens, the earth, the sea and
the springs of water.”
Fear God

• Why
• How
• So
10. "Fear of the Lord" means essentially two things:
1) To stand in reverential awe of who God is and
2) To seek His will in everything
"Fear of God" does not mean fearfulness of God or being
afraid of Him, but always knowing that we are walking,
speaking and acting in His presence and His pleasure.
"Fear of God" is caring more
about what God thinks than
about what we think.

PRAYER
“As I studied Scripture more and more, I realized very few people warned me, and they
didn’t even explain to me that God doesn’t always listen.”
2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose
hearts are fully committed to him.
15.
16. What does it even mean to be
devoted to prayer?
Mat 6:5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love

18. BASIC. 基本.
Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit is GOD, not an impersonal force or a creation of God.
We are now in the age of the prominence of the Holy Spirit
19.
20. Holy Spirit
Despite the confusions about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, it is clear from the bible that
God wants all Christians to be filled with the Holy Spirit and live in dependence of Him
• Read Acts 6:3, 5, Rom 8:13 and we realize the filling of the HS results in a
quality life and not just a gifted person. However, it also shows that not all
Christians have the fullness of the HS…
• The HS Sanctifies, making Jesus more beautiful in your life. Rom 8:7-11
• 1 Cor 12 also tells of different gifts of the Holy Spirit for different people.
• We see today a neglect of the first today giving us gifted ministers but with
immoral lives. If we persist, we will one day suddenly find that our gifts
have life us and we are unable to carry on.
• Just like Samson, our lives will catch up with our ministry.
Only when we walk in the Spirit will we have genuine
strength and influence in the world!
21. Do you have the power of the
Holy Spirit?
Holy Spirit “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor
to be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The

23. Gospel 101
What are we afraid of?
1. How others respond to us – People are responding to God not us
2. Failure – God doesn’t ask us to be successful, just faithful
3. Having people ‘see through us’ – Learning to operate in our style
4. Not having the right answers – Its ok to say I don’t know. Just love them
5. Having our character flaws – We’re forgiven, not perfect. Being real
6. Not gifted – He knows our characters but he also gives power. Trust Him
7. Being embarrassed – Learn to focus less on ourselves but on others.
8. Afraid of strangers – Be patient to develop a relationship. Find your style
9. Saying the wrong things – Better yet, this will train us to think more
10. Being influenced by unbelievers – Be wise and be in but not of the world
Evangelism is not an event, it is a process of moving people from a
greater negative to a greater positive relationship with Christ.
24. Gospel 101 : The Roman Road
3:10 3:23 5:12 5:8 6:23 10:13

26. Luke 8:26-39
Sometimes to follow Jesus means being back to a place where we are
trying to escape from and where we once knew difficult pain. But it is
there that the grace of God will shine the brightest in your life. But do
not be afraid because the good shepherd will walk with you and
protect you in the darkest valley (Psa 23)
27. The radical cost of following Jesus
Luke 9:56 -62 is not a law or rule but a treasure
test because Jesus knows what idols are in our
heart competing with Him.
• Attachment to our comfort zone -
• Attachment to our family – between spiritual dead relatives or the Giver of Life
• Danger of indecisive discipleship – always having second thoughts. You can’t make
Jesus look great if you are always second guessing the value of following Him.
As you start following Him, you start learning that all the things that He’s saying to
let go of and walk away from, those are actually things that were going to destroy
you anyway
28. Do you believe Jesus is
worth following?
Follow Jesus “Sometimes we neglect this other part that Jesus was very upfront
with, saying, ‘Look, it’s very, very difficult to follow Me.’”
• What Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the

Fellowship
30.
31. God says, ‘I want you to show Jesus to the world.’ So
that means I need my brothers and sisters
around me, and we offend one another, but we keep
forgiving. And then suddenly the world
looks on and goes, ‘I’ve never seen that before.’”
“There’s something about our unity that
makes the message believable to a
skeptical world.”

32. accounts 101
A couple of factors that keep us from developing
close relationships are pride and fear.
One of the great benefits of accountability is that you
will look at your life more closely than ever before.
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on
toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up
meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing,
but let us encourage one another--and all the more
as you see the day approaching." --Hebrews 10:25
33. accounts 101
• "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for
their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity
the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie
down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm
alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend
themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." --
Ecclesiastes 4:8-12
Face to Face, Shoulder to Shoulder, We’ll Strengthen Each Other
• · "Face to face. . ." Being accountable to someone means you sit face to face,
look that person in the eye and honestly, openly discuss what is going on in
your lives.
• · "Shoulder to Shoulder. . ." Accountability means standing by your brother's
side through thick and thin. One is not above the other; both are equal.
• · "We'll Strengthen each other. . ." Through vital relationships, we become
stronger, as we help each other through struggles, temptations and shortfalls,
and as we encourage one another towards spiritual growth. "As iron sharpens
iron, so one man sharpens another." (Proverbs 27:17).
34. accounts 101
• It is specifically for the purpose of growing as a Christian, and dealing with the
struggles and shortfalls in our lives. "Do two walk together unless they have
agreed to do so?" (Amos 3:3)
• For the sake of the Church, we must become actively responsible for one
another. Accountability does not just happen. And it may not come quickly or
easily.
• We must allow each other the permission to ask tough questions. "Submit to one
another out of reverence for Christ." (Ephesians 5:21)
– How are things going on at school?
– Tell me about your prayer life?
– What does your parent think about your attitudes?
– How is it with your soul?
– What temptations have you met? How were you delivered?
– Are you hiding un-repented sins or un-mended relationships?
– Have you just lied to me?
– you can develop a list of basic areas of accountability which you agree to
discuss regularly
35. accounts 101
The Bible tells us to:
• Love each other. (John 15:17)
• Serve one another in love. (Galatians 5:13)
• Be kind and compassionate to one another. (Ephesians 4:32)
• Carry each other's burdens. (Galations 6:2)
• Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other. (James 5:16)
• Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above
yourselves. (Romans 12:10)
• Accept one another. (Romans 15:7)
• Encourage one another and build each other up. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
• Spur one another on toward love and good deeds. (Hebrews 10:24)
36. accounts 101
Suggestions for Initial Areas of Accountability:
• Prayer life
• Bible reading/study time
• Integrity issues
• Spending time with the family
• Laziness
• Work issues
• Harboring anger or resentment
• Exercise, dieting
• Things shared previously
• One of the benefits of accountability is that often you will find
that you are not the only one who struggles in a particular area.
Then, knowing you are not alone, you can help and encourage
each other. "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray
for each other so that you may be healed." (James 5:16)
37. accounts 101
The Bible tells us to:
• Love each other. (John 15:17)
• Serve one another in love. (Galatians 5:13)
• Be kind and compassionate to one another. (Ephesians 4:32)
• Carry each other's burdens. (Galations 6:2)
• Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other. (James 5:16)
• Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above
yourselves. (Romans 12:10)
• Accept one another. (Romans 15:7)
• Encourage one another and build each other up. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
• Spur one another on toward love and good deeds. (Hebrews 10:24)
38. Regardless of the accountability questions you choose, the last question
should be "Have you been truthful about everything we have
discussed?" There will be times when that question is necessary, and
true accountability demands it.

I am His disciple. I will not look back, let up,

My past is forgiven, my present clear and my future

I am finished and done with living for anything

My goal is heaven and my road is narrow and my

I won’t give up, shut up or burn up until I have

I must go until He comes, give till I drop until
