Midnight Jan 1, we launch into space in speed of light, we pass the sun in 8min and 17 second (1500,000,000). After 5 hours and 31 mins, we pass pluto, the last of milky way. We have travelled 3 half billion miles and it’s still Jan 1. we continue to travel, after 5 years, on April, we reach the nearest star in Adromeda system. 100,000 light years later we come to the end of the milky way. Each point of light we see from here onwards is a single galaxy…..
Who would want to visit a place filled with lame, sick, blind etc if not for compassion. Bethseda, (mercy) with five porches. It was with five loaves the Lord Jesus fed the hungry multitude. The fifth clause in the Lord’s prayer is, "Give us this day our daily bread." The fifth Commandment was the only one with a promise attached to it; and so we might go on.Would you be joyful if you are sick for 38 years? How would you react to a question: Do you want to made well? Strange question?Listen, there's no better way to get a response out of a sick person than to ask him how their illness is and Christ knew that to gain this man's interest He would hit him right where his interest was. Some people say, somebody comes along and says, "Well, if you have enough faith Jesus will heal you." You know something? This man didn't have any faith, he didn't even know who was talking to him. He didn't even know who it was. Listen, if Jesus had waited for that man to believe in Him, that man probably never would have gotten up. If Jesus wants to heal somebody, He'll heal them whether they've got faith or they don't have it. And you can have all the faith in the world and if He doesn't choose to heal you, He won't. This is a perfect example of what sovereign grace is and how it operates. (ref v21)Anyway, Jesus didn’t say ‘you faith has healed you’. This miracle was to show the poor spiritual condition of man. The Lord showed compassion and healed the lame (fulfill prophecy) but this man’s heart was unchanged. The same with the Jews who only saw the breaking of Sabbath and not the miracle. The Lord’s words (John 5:14) suggest that the man’s physical plight had been the result of sin, but Jesus did not say that the man’s sins had been forgiven
He has powers over all of the elements, the physical elements that He has created, whether it be the solids here on the earth, or whether it be the water or whether it be the atmosphere. He also has power over space, not only over time, but over space, over distance. Distance is one of the five dimensions that make up our known physical world. Space is certainly one of them. Distance makes no difference to Christ. Look at this miracle here which shows this. It shows Him as the Creator and sustainer of everything in the universe.Did Jesus know that a storm was coming? Of course. Then why did He deliberately send His friends into danger? Quite the opposite is true: He was rescuing them from greater danger, the danger of being swept along by a fanatical crowd. But there was another reason for that storm: the Lord has to balance our lives, otherwise we will become proud and then fall. The disciples had experienced great joy in being part of a thrilling miracle. Now they had to thousand was the lesson, but the storm was the examination after the lesson.Sometimes we are caught in a storm because we have disobeyed the Lord. Jonah is a good example. But sometimes the storm comes because we have obeyed the Lord. When that happens, we can be sure that our Savior will pray for us, come to us, and deliver us. In writing the account of this event years later, perhaps John saw in it a picture of Christ and His church. Christ is in heaven interceding for us, but we are in the midst of the storms of life, trying to reach the shore. One day, He will come for us and we shall reach the port safely, the storms all past.face a storm and learn to trust the Lord more. The feeding of the five.
Jesus performed many other signs in the
presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this
book. 31 But these are written that you may believe that
Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by
believing you may have life in his name.
1 John 1:3 We
proclaim to you what we have seen and heard,
so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our
fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
4 We write this to make our (yours/my) joy complete.
