The principles of community development are: (1) the principle of movement, which states that community development should involve participation from community members in identifying development projects; (2) the principle of felt need, which says that community development should focus on addressing the problems community members themselves are aware of, like poverty and illiteracy; and (3) the principle of agreed perception/goals/acceptability, which indicates there should be agreement within the community on the goals and projects to prioritize that have widespread acceptance.
