This document discusses content and language integrated learning (CLIL) and innovation in English primary education classrooms. It notes that teachers should build on students' prior knowledge, learning is cognitive, and there are approaches like communicative and task-based learning. The goal of language learning is communicative competence. Using body language and other strategies can help communicate meaning when language barriers exist. Communicative language teaching is an established approach, and the document hopes to provide tools, activities and examples for implementing CLIL approaches in the classroom.
