having a great time. And who knows, maybe there
are one or two ideas there which might make it to
the next album. Or maybe you Jammed so well, you
decide to form a band…
A JAM?
WHAT IS IT?
Bali Sustainability Jam 2017 | Partnership Proposal

But it’s not music you are Jamming - it’s ideas. You’ll
be working with people you might never have met
before, bouncing ideas off one another and building
on what bounces back. And it’s not just talking - you
are here to turn your ideas into a concrete design or
plan of action which you or somebody else might
want to make real.
Perhaps it will be a service, a physical device, an
initiative, a network, or something no-one has
thought of yet - can you describe and plan it in a
way that someone could go out and make it real,
knowing what resources they would need, what they
should do, and who they should talk to? That’s the
challenge of the Jam.

Catalyze’s mission is to inspire and influence people
for the greener good.
But over the course of years, we realize that
in doing this we need to change mindsets in
how people approach sustainability issues in
Indonesia. That is why, we want to organize the
#BaliSustainabilityJam2017.
Our goal is not to create a conference, a seminar,
or a networking group (though the latter might
happen unintentionally!). What we want, is to gather
people from all around Indonesia and encourage
an environment where we can “save the world
in 48 hours” We will enable people to exchange
knowledge, experiment and innovate. And have a
good time while doing it.
We will not focus on creating realizable projects that
are implemented right after the event.
We will focus on process, not result.
And what is great - this will not only happen in Bali.
But all over the world. From Sydney to New York,
from Bogota to Bali, professionals and students of
various backgrounds will meet to spend a weekend
creating sustainable products and services.
WHY?
Bali Sustainability Jam 2017 | Partnership Proposal
5. Bali Sustainability Jam 2017 | Partnership Proposal
The Global Sustainability Jam will happen during a
weekend in November.
Catalyze will be the main organizer of the event in
Bali.
However, we will also collaborate with people and
partners who have the same mission, are interested
in a design-based approach to creativity, problem
solving and of course, sustainability issues.
The event will be fully ZERO WASTE.
The concept is a camping event, so that participants
stay in the same place for approx. 2.5 days together.
