items is still quite ambiguous and controversial
2. Every museum should know the copyright status of its items
3. Every museum should be familiar with domestic and foreign
copyright laws that apply to its collection
4. Every museum should decide which usage rights it allows for each
object. Creative Commons licenses can be used.
5. When in doubt, seek legal advice
6. Follow up on global trends. Current trend is to give online access and
broad usage rights to reproductions of Public Domain works
