This documentary will explore blogging culture on Tumblr and how it impacts teenagers. It will examine both positive and negative aspects, such as how anonymous commenting can enable bullying, but blogging can also help quiet teenagers express themselves. The documentary will feature interviews with bloggers about their experiences and investigate how perceptions of beauty on Tumblr can influence self-image. It aims to understand social media trends and how blogging culture compares to real world social interaction.
The document provides casting details for a school play, including audition results and roles. Sophie Mander was cast as the 'girl nobody knows'. Beth Mancell was cast as the first bully, Nisha, and Charlotte O'Hare was cast as the second bully, Chantelle. Costume and character details are also outlined for the roles of the girl nobody knows and the two bullies.
Charlotte Britten was an extraordinary teaching assistant who received high praise from multiple students in their testimonials. Students commented that she was always happy, kept classes enthused, answered all questions to ensure understanding, provided detailed feedback to help improve writing skills, and made classes interactive and interesting. Her feedback, understanding nature, and constant willingness to provide extra help were highlighted. Students felt lucky to have such a wonderful adult figure and said she has taught them much and motivated them not to give up.
The document discusses representation of social groups in media products. It focuses on how the film represents high school teenagers, different races, and ages. In the title sequence, it portrays high school girls and also may include forensic scientists and teachers. The sequence includes Ugandan, White, and Somali girls to represent London's multicultural environment. It aims to represent the main character as the victim who lost her friend, while another girl is portrayed as mean by grabbing the photo. Overall, the document argues the characters were shown in a positive way to challenge stereotypes about teenagers often presented in media.
My friend constantly talked about her crush, making that the only topic of conversation. The narrator eventually told her friend she didn't want to discuss it anymore, which led to an argument where they exchanged insults. They remained unfriendly until college, when chance brought them together on a bus ride, allowing them to reconcile and become friends again.
- The group decided to create a film trailer for their media coursework and chose a romantic genre after surveying audiences.
- They developed three potential story ideas: two childhood friends separated and reunited as adults, a couple separated when one moves away, and a couple separated by death.
- After research on romantic film techniques, the group chose the second idea about separated childhood friends as it was a unique twist on the romance genre that would provide the most challenge and appeal to audiences.

3) "I Dare You" involves dares pressuring a character to bully someone to suicide, causing guilt and depression when friends blame them.
Britney Spears' "I Wanna Go" music video explores both feminist and post-feminist themes. In the video, men objectify Britney as she walks by, looking at her and taking photos without permission. However, Britney also exerts power and control over men. She refuses to answer personal questions, takes control of a police officer, and uses her microphone to protect herself from unwanted attention. The video portrays both the objectification of women but also a woman who is in charge and empowered.
The document outlines a music video idea based on input from the target audience of 15-20 year olds. It discusses gathering ideas from the target audience, which included themes of dancing as a release, fractured relationships, homelessness, broken families, bullying, sibling reunions, and family ties. Rather than choosing a single story, the creator decided to combine these ideas into an overall storyline. The final story involves two homeless siblings, a teenager who dances to release pain from her lonely home, a bullied school child, and how the vocalist reunites friends who have become separated.
This document provides guidelines for respectful and considerate behavior when cosplaying at conventions. It outlines dos and don'ts for before, during, and after conventions regarding asking for help, interacting with other cosplayers, taking photos, and using social media. The key messages are to appreciate all cosplayers, obtain consent before interactions and photos, be respectful of people's space and time, and avoid harassment, judgment, or making people feel unwelcome due to their cosplay choices or personal attributes. Cosplaying should bring people together through their shared interests rather than divide them.
Pencil Productions is planning a teen drama film based on audience research. The majority of respondents wanted a drama about a female main character set at a party with a murder mystery storyline involving hip hop/R&B music. The character should be rebellious and popular with mainly teen characters and no happy ending. Several ideas were proposed for the film synopsis including using a twist where the good guy is actually evil, cross-cutting editing techniques, dark special effects, impactful backing music during action scenes, and an overall mysterious twist. The final synopsis will incorporate cross-cutting, special effects/editing, impactful music/sound, and an unexpected twist.
This document discusses the filmmaker's choices in developing a short film targeted at teenagers. They chose to rate the film 15 due to elements of alcohol, language, and sexual references. Testing with audiences found the film appealed most to female viewers, so the filmmaker recognizes they may need to make changes to attract more male viewers. Close-up shots of the main character were used to allow audiences to relate to and understand her perspective as she deals with social issues commonly faced by teenagers. The actress chose the role to portray these dramatic teenage experiences despite living a different lifestyle in real life.
The document discusses targeting a film towards teenagers aged 15-20. It notes that gore and horror themes would not be suitable for younger audiences but that older audiences over 45 are less interested in gore. Research showed teenagers under 18 gave higher ratings to teen horror films. Specifically, males under 18 rated the film an 8.2 out of 10 while those aged 45+ rated it a 6.8, indicating teenagers are the ideal target audience for a horror film to find success.
The document discusses targeting a female audience aged 16-25 for a romantic film. It aims to appeal specifically to Asian and Oriental Asian females of that age range through the use of an Oriental Asian actress and themes surrounding a nerdy girl interested in art, books and education. The intended audience is also described as being in social class C1+ to focus on demographics more likely to increase profits.
The document outlines a horror movie pitch about a teenage boy who develops supernatural killing powers during puberty due to being part of a religious cult. He uses his new abilities to enter people's dreams and murder them. His first victims are those who bullied him at school. He also kills his love interest's parents so they can be together. In the end, she discovers his crimes and kills him to stop his murderous rampage.
Drama: Students' Interactions with Social Media and their Implications Within...TristanCravello
This poster represents findings from a study of high school
student and teacher use of social media within the school and
personal context, focusing on the role that drama plays
within their description of personal and in-school use of
social media. This study included interviews from 37
students and 18 adults from a local high school in Leon
County, Florida. We expect that findings will suggest that
most individuals feel social media has a profound presence
in the high school context. However, the participants will
position and identify drama as an act that others engage in,
rejecting the notion that the participants may be the
executioner of drama themselves.
The document provides tips for building social capital and an effective online presence as a teenager, emphasizing the importance of considering how social media posts could impact college admissions and future careers. It cautions teens to avoid posting private information or inappropriate content and to highlight accomplishments online to help gain scholarships. The document also offers suggestions for maintaining a professional online image through email addresses and social media profiles.
This document summarizes research on the impact of an applied theatre program called ETFO's Poverty and Education Project that was implemented in Ontario schools between 2007-2009. The program used a play called "Danny King of the Basement" to raise awareness of poverty issues among students and staff. Research found the drama was effective in initiating dialogue, transforming social relations, and incorporating themes into the curriculum. Flexibility, partnerships, and raising long-term consciousness helped sustain the impacts, though the drama itself disappeared over time in some schools. Overall, the research concluded applied theatre can prove effective in facilitating discussions about difficult topics like poverty.
The document discusses research conducted with 23 teenagers to inform the development of a coming-of-age film. The research found that background music is more important than character introduction. Most teenagers experience issues with relationships and future planning in school. Over half of respondents related most to a protagonist who is clueless about their future. Teenagers preferred comedy and drama genres and moderately deep stories over lighthearted films. They wished to see realistic themes like depression, social issues, and self-discovery rather than cliched plots like new kids or unrealistic resolutions.

The key is for teachers to understand themselves and their students in order to best support adolescents through this developmental period.
The author discusses the overuse of social media in the classroom and its negative effects on learning. Through interviews with students, the author found that most use electronics in class and are more likely to get distracted by social media if bored. While some don't see it as a distraction, the author argues that social media hinders classroom performance and the ability to have face-to-face conversations. The author proposes an experiment where students go without electronics for a period to see if they retain more information and do better in their classes. Overall, the author believes embracing learning opportunities in college is important and social media is disrespectful to professors trying to teach.
"Why do we need to learn this?" is a common ELA classroom question. This presentation discusses the importance of role models in the classroom and what they can do for your students.
The document appears to be a survey about school bullying for students. It asks questions about different types of bullying behaviors both in person and online, how students respond if they are bullied, reasons for bullying others, and suggestions for addressing bullying. In the comments section, students provide feedback that bullying is a serious issue, teachers need to intervene more, and addressing bullying should involve parents and starting with children at a young age to shape their behaviors and examples.
This document is a journal entry by Lew Quo Ming, a student taking a social psychology course. In the entry, Lew discusses an example of experiencing confirmation bias regarding the movie "Thor: The Dark World." Lew was excited for the movie based on enjoying previous Marvel movies starring Chris Hemsworth. When friends said it wasn't as good, Lew did not believe them and chose to believe positive online reviews instead. Upon watching it, Lew realized it was not as good as expected. This showed how Lew's existing beliefs about the movie influenced how he interpreted information about it.

Shifting to Specifications Grading: Two Design CasesVanessa Dennen
This document discusses specifications grading through two design cases - an undergraduate and graduate course. It describes what specifications grading is, how assignments are graded pass/fail against competencies, and how students are given tokens to revise work. For the undergraduate course, examples of skills checks, blog posts, and a PowerPoint assignment are provided, along with the token system. The graduate course overview outlines weekly discussions, papers, and a research bibliography assignment, along with its token system. Lessons learned focused on increased student confidence and engagement through clear expectations and more feedback than determining grades.
Distance Teaching and Learning in a Time of CrisisVanessa Dennen
This document discusses distance teaching and learning during the COVID-19 crisis. It outlines three phases of disaster response: response, recovery, and a new normal. In the response phase, educators are dealing with short-term changes like moving classes online. Many questions remain about the recovery phase. The document provides advice for remote teaching including prioritizing people over content and technology. It also notes challenges like reluctant online students and the fluid nature of the crisis. Research considerations are discussed, emphasizing evaluation and case studies that are situated within the disaster response phases. It introduces the Networked Knowledge Activity Framework, which includes six types of activities - collect, curate, share, broker, negotiate, and create - that involve interacting with and producing knowledge objects. Examples are provided for each type of activity. The framework is intended to help instructors think beyond the classroom and promote student interaction, production and engagement with content and other learners through social media platforms. When implemented effectively, these networked knowledge activities can support active learning outcomes.

Social media knowledge activities: Opportunities for learning across formal a...Vanessa Dennen
This document discusses opportunities for learning across formal and informal settings using social media. It begins by noting that while social media plus learning does not necessarily equal meaningful engagement, it could if used purposefully. The author then discusses findings from their research on student perspectives and needs regarding social media use. Key points from cited literature on social media and education are presented. The remainder of the document focuses on strategies and tools for implementing meaningful networked knowledge activities using social media that are grounded in educational theory and address student needs.
Social Networking Sites, Teen Identity, and High Schools: Unregulated Social ...Vanessa Dennen
This document summarizes research on how teens use social media and how it impacts their identity and experiences in high school. The researchers surveyed and observed 48 high school students to understand how they navigate different social networks for varied purposes like self-expression, privacy, and learning. They found that teens curate their online identities carefully across platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, and Twitter. While social media allows access to school information and peer connections, not using it can lead to isolation. The researchers conclude that teens are becoming adept at interacting online, and teachers could provide guidance to help support this development.
Effective Tagging Practices for Online Learning Environments: Dictionary or F...Vanessa Dennen
This document summarizes a study that compared the effectiveness of three different approaches to tagging online resources: freestyle tagging, dictionary-based tagging, and a combined freestyle and dictionary approach. 78 undergraduate students tagged resources using Diigo over five weeks under one of the three conditions. The findings showed that dictionary-only tagging reduced redundancy and synonyms the most, while freestyle tagging resulted in the most single-use and irrelevant tags. The combined approach was most effective by allowing students to both use predefined tags and add their own. The implications are that students need guidance to learn effective tagging and that dictionaries can help structure the activity while allowing flexibility.
Discussion Practices in Online Courses: An Online Survey of InstructorsVanessa Dennen

This presentation just covers a small portion of the data from our survey. Contact the authors for additional information.
The document provides advice for the successful use of social media in education. It recommends starting with the learning activity rather than the tool, and identifying tacit learning objectives to consider student comfort levels. Educators should share ownership by discussing authorship and intellectual property with students. Tracking social media activity can provide insights into knowledge sharing. The overall message is to thoughtfully integrate social media to enhance learning rather than replicate existing systems.
Religious Narratives and Networked Learning Spaces: Using Blogs to Connect In...Vanessa Dennen
This document summarizes a study on using blogs to connect students personally to course material on the history of religion. Researchers had students in a university history of religion course blog twice weekly about readings and personal reflections. Analysis found blogging encouraged deeper engagement with readings and provided an outlet for personal perspectives. While some found it time-consuming, most students enjoyed the format and it correlated with better exam performance. The semi-private nature of the blogs created a safe space for discussion of potentially sensitive personal views and histories.
Using Diigo to Engage Learners in Course ReadingsVanessa Dennen
This document discusses using the social bookmarking tool Diigo to engage students in annotating course readings. Researchers evaluated student perceptions and use of Diigo in an educational technology course. Students initially found Diigo confusing or were curious about it. After using it, most students had a favorable view, finding it easy to use and potentially useful. However, some remained unclear on the learning objectives of annotating readings collaboratively online versus just bookmarking individually. For future iterations, researchers recommend more clearly articulating objectives and providing models of effective use.
Ethics and Social Media Research: Examining Private Lives on a Public StageVanessa Dennen
Dr. Vanessa Dennen discussed key ethical issues in conducting social media research. She explained how concepts like privacy exist on a continuum and are influenced by audience and intent. Researchers must consider whether participants see them as part of the intended audience and if they would feel at risk with a larger audience. The biggest concerns should be avoiding harm to participants and gaining proper consent rather than just IRB approval. Mitigation strategies like using pseudonyms, checking quotes, and reporting aggregate findings can help reduce risks. Researchers have a responsibility to respect participants' privacy, educate them and the IRB, and uphold high ethical standards.
How an online community promotes graduate students' professional developmentVanessa Dennen
Graduate students engage with the "GradSchool" subreddit for both social-emotional and professional reasons. Socially, it helps alleviate stress and loneliness by connecting students with similar challenges. Professionally, it provides just-in-time advice on issues like time management, relationships, careers and mental health. Students are more likely to read posts and comment than initiate their own posts. Engagement supports professional development by enhancing knowledge of funding and careers, implementing strategies, and potentially finding future collaborators.
Designing digital badges for a college courseVanessa Dennen
The document describes the design and implementation of six types of digital badges in an undergraduate educational technology course. The badges were created to motivate students to complete assignments thoroughly and on time, engage in class discussions, and participate in independent learning activities. A survey found that while some students felt badges were meaningful and motivating, others viewed them as redundant or only beneficial for younger learners. The subjective badges for best performance and excellence had the most positive responses. Overall, badges may only motivate 30-40% of learners, while many feel ambivalent toward them.

This document provides an overview of wound healing, its functions, stages, mechanisms, factors affecting it, and complications.
A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.
LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

3. Research
Questions
In the high school setting, who is
involved in “drama”?
Subquestions:
§How do students and teachers
define social media drama?
§How do student perceptions of
social media drama and its
actors in the high school setting
differ from teachers’
perceptions?
§How do students and teachers
position themselves relative
social media drama in the high
school setting?
6. Findings:
Defining Drama
§Attention seeking behavior
§Evidence: content, tone, timing
and/or frequency of someone’s
social media posts
§Variants: Self-focused, gossip,
innuendo
7. Findings:
Defining Drama
She's like, always posting how she doesn't
have a boyfriend, or when she does have a
boyfriend, like, they're not good enough for
her, and I feel like that's just for attention.
Like, you only are posting that so someone
will ask you, like, oh, why is he not doing
this, or why don't you have a boyfriend,
you're so pretty – stuff like that. So I feel
like they're doing it for attention instead of
just posting it just to post it.
Self-focused Drama
8. Findings:
Defining Drama
I think drama is more of a gossip type
thing. Like, it starts from a gossip and then
it turns into drama. So gossip is, like, when
it stays [in] your friend group, and I think
it's drama once it, like, gets out and other
people are involved … I think that that's
why a lot of it's on social media, because at
first it was just like, oh, you and your
friends talking about it, now you let
everybody into it, and so it's just people,
like, start stuff on Instagram and Snapchat
and things.
Gossip Drama
9. Findings:
Defining Drama
So if I posted a meme about a boy, they
would think it's towards their friend, so if I
posted a meme about why boys can't stay
loyal or why do boys always feel the need
to cheat on people, they feel like it's
directed towards their boyfriend, their
relationship, or my boyfriend, our
relationship, they ask me what happened,
they're in my business always, feeling
attached to me.
Innuendo Drama
10. Findings:
Student
Positioning &
Drama
Who creates drama online? Not I!
§ Most students
§ First order self-positioning:
§ Not involved in drama
§ Positioning of drama seekers
§ Immature
§ Conflict creators
§ Both author and audience
Counterpoint
§ First order self-positioning:
§ Creator of gossip drama
§ Positioning of self
§ Puppetmaster
13. Students really don’t care how much you
know unless they know how much you care.
We’ve become like these zombies, right?
We’re tech zombies. I hate it. I think it’s so
bad for the human race … you walk
through the hall, it’s the overwhelming
majority of students with their phones out,
you know, doing this (mimes looking down
and scrolling on a phone).
Most of the people that I'm friends with
[are posting] political stuff. … at my age, I
don't see a lot of people that are posting
too much about their personal business.
Findings:
Teacher Positioning
& Drama
14. Conclusions
§ Drama is differentiated from truly
harmful online behaviors
§ No one wants to see themselves as a
villain or a victim
§ Teachers may play an indirect a role in
“drama” but are neither villain nor
victim
§ Teachers position their own social
media use as different from student use
