'Getting the best for your child'
An afternoon event for parents and carers of children and young people
on the Autistic Spectrum
Thursday, 20th
October 2016, 1pm – 3pm at Louth Town Hall
Cost: £10 per family (maximum 3 persons)
This event will enable parents and carers to understand their rights under the law,
know and be able to use the structures and systems that work with schools and
colleges, and to understand the range of support and options available to young
people on the Autistic Spectrum from outside the school or college system.
The speakers for this event are both nationally recognised as experts in this field:
Manar Matusiak Managing Director of Living Autism – the UK's leading
support organisation for individuals on the Autistic
Spectrum
Manar will speak about the rights of the individual on the Autistic Spectrum and the
kinds of support that can be pulled in if the system works properly.
Len Brazier Former Head of Special Needs in several Local
Authorities
Len will talk about the SEN system in local authorities, how it is set up and how it
works. He will also cover the pitfalls and problems normally faced by parents in the
system and how to overcome them.
To Book your place at this event – please email contact@laafs.org
or call Claire - 07742 830435
** This event has been subsidised by LAAFS and Louth Town Hall in order to provide support for
parents and carers in Lincolnshire to get the best for their children.
