( Week10 )
The professional autismproject has now had its 10th successful weekat queenstreetresource
centre, professionallycatchingup on its updating of the recentlyshown autism documentary
documents, and how PositivelyAutisticCommunityOrganisation are preparing themselvesready
in advance for the alternative therapies/autismmovementtherapy2 day training course at
Plymouth universityonthe 4th/5th April 2016.and will re-await a feedbackas to how it all went.
we have also kicked offour positivelyautisticribbonscampaign 2016,in advance of autism
awarenessday on the 2nd April 2016. Myselfand Andy Kay have recentlyhad our presentup to
date ASC meetingand sat down togetherto lookthrough the roughly writtendocument from part
1 of the A word drama, Andy decidedthat from the 19 bulletpointsonly four where chosento be
incorporated on to our brand newASC hands logo action plan 2016, so these are the oneswe
choose as follows.
(1) The sensitivityasto regardingcoming to terms with the confirmeddiagnosisofautism and the
impact it has on a family.
(2) An autistic individual may have difficultiesofcommunication/sensitivityofbeingoverwhelmed
as an autistic individual may turn to music to block out family conflictsand the environment
around him, and an autisticindividual may have difficultiestointeractwith other children.
(3) Acceptance and Acknowledgementofautismout there in the widercommunity, making sure
we are goingout there promotingpositive awarenessof autism also out there in the autism
community. collaboratingwith all relevantNHS professionals, aswell as other outside
professional agencies,sowe are havinga positive/constructive/empoweringimpact.
(13) Preventlabelling/treatthemlike any otherhuman being/approach with
sensitivity/understanding/respect/confidentiality/
2. so out of the 19 bulletpoints,Andy explainedthatthe non pickedbulletpointswere clinical based
and it would needmore professional clinical researchbefore they can be reconsideredbeing
incorporated intoour brand new firstof its kind ASC hands logoaction plan. and we both agreed
on this issue.
Andy also lookedat the electroniccopy of the livingwith autism documentI senthim by e-mail
was also decidedthat again that the bulletpointson this documentwere alsotalking about
clinical based research whichat presentwe do not have that qualifiedprofessional insight into
professional clinical basedresearch work that the CCG does not have ina qualifiedexperienced
professionalismin, and so therefore itwouldbe up to the CCG to lookat or contacting a
professional withinthe fieldofclinical basedknowledge ofAutism aspect.
