ABA therapy is a scientifically validated approach to understanding behavior and how the environment affects it. It uses principles of learning and motivation to teach skills. Positive reinforcement is a key principle, where rewarding a behavior makes it more likely to be repeated. ABA techniques have been developed since the 1960s to build useful skills in individuals with autism from toddlers to adults. ABA programs comprehensively address behavioral, social, communication, cognitive, self-help, play, and motor skills. When done correctly, ABA maximizes an individual's ability to express themselves and enjoy life by teaching them how to learn.

The document summarizes key points from the #DF16 #SalesSummit conference. It discusses how digital is changing how customers research and buy, with rising expectations of personalized experiences across multiple channels. It also outlines how using digital strategies can help B2B companies grow their customer base, increase retention, reduce costs, scale offerings faster, and prevent disruption. Specific strategies highlighted include leveraging analytics, artificial intelligence, smart partner portals, and predictive capabilities. The document also notes that fast-growing companies invest more in sales training and developing the right skills and talents.
The document discusses emotional and behavioral disorders in children. It notes that identifying emotional disturbances in young children is difficult due to vague definitions and the broad range of typical behaviors in children. Boys and students from certain cultural backgrounds are more likely to be identified as having emotional disorders. Factors like poverty, minority status, teacher bias, and inappropriate assessments can contribute to disproportionate representation of some groups. Early intervention is important but limited for young children. The document provides background information on identifying and addressing emotional and behavioral disorders in children.
The document provides information about autism spectrum disorder (ASD), including key facts and statistics. Some of the main points are:
- ASD is characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech, and nonverbal communication.
- The CDC estimates ASD's prevalence as 1 in 59 children in the US, and it is more common in boys than girls.
- The first steps parents should take if they have concerns about ASD are to learn the signs, get their child screened by professionals, and access early intervention and educational services.
This powerpoint presentation was put together by Georgina Peacock, MD, MPH, Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center on Birth Defects, and presented on December 5 at our Georgia Children's Advocacy Network (GA-CAN!) Off-Session Policy Series. This month our panelists discussed the complex topic of autism, it's diagnosis, treatment and coverage.
The document provides a history of autism including its original use by Bleuler in 1911 and further definition by Kanner in 1943. It discusses research and definitions by Asperger, Eisenberg, Creak, and Rutter that helped characterize autism. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) included autism for the first time in 1980 and further defined pervasive developmental disorders. The DSM-IV criteria require impairments in social interaction, communication, and repetitive behaviors. Prevalence of autism has increased since first measured in 1966, estimated now at 1 in 150 children. Boys are 4 times more likely to be affected than girls.

This document provides information on Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) and Disinhibited Social Engagement Disorder (DSED) presented to Christian counseling professionals. It defines the disorders, their history, diagnostic criteria, and risk factors. Early childhood trauma and neglect can impact brain development, disrupting the formation of attachment and self-regulation. Interventions aim to build these core strengths through repetitive loving interactions, positive body-based experiences, and trauma-informed therapies. The real work involves supporting the entire family system through psychoeducation and offering hope.

Signs Your Child Might Be Autistic - How to Treat Them.pptxLisa Kent
The diagnosis of ASD can bring in a lot of emotions and difficulties for your child and your family. Therefore, it is essential to seek support from the right people to help your child manage their condition. The autism support workers expose the children to various therapies, including positive behaviour support, incidental teaching, applied behaviour analysis, etc., which can help your child better adjust to his environment and have a normal life.

Amanda Gulsrud, PhD: Current Research on ASD in Adulthood: The Evidence and t...Semel Admin
The document summarizes current research on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in adulthood. It finds that while autism symptoms and behavior problems tend to decrease with age on average, adaptive functioning may decline in midlife. Most young adults with ASD are unemployed after high school, which is a critical transition point. Longitudinal studies also show influences of socioeconomic factors, with those from lower-income families showing less improvement. More research is still needed into interventions for adults with ASD, especially regarding employment. Existing programs have had some success incorporating behavioral techniques and social skills training.
This document provides information about autism spectrum disorder (ASD) including:
- ASD typically appears in the first 3 years and is a neurological disorder that impacts brain development.
- It is defined by impairments in social interaction and communication as well as restricted behaviors.
- Early intervention is crucial and children in Maryland can be placed on a registry for the Autism Waiver program which provides free services.
- The document outlines resources for families of children recently diagnosed with ASD.
Behavioral disorders screening and prediction1Sonu Kumar
Behavioral disorders are common in children and adults and can negatively impact one's life if left untreated. Some common behavioral disorders include anxiety disorders, disruptive behavioral disorders, and ADHD. Emotional symptoms of behavioral disorders may include anger, blaming others, and difficulty handling frustration. Physical symptoms are generally absent aside from potential issues from substance abuse. Autism is a type of behavioral disorder characterized by challenges with social skills and communication. Artificial intelligence can help predict autism and other behavioral disorders through analysis of behavioral screening data to enable early diagnosis and improved outcomes.
This document provides an agenda and overview for a presentation on autism and the law. The presentation discusses trends in autism rates and cases in California, assessment and eligibility requirements, educational methodologies, case law related to these topics, and assistive technology and private providers. It summarizes key points from case law, such as judges considering whether programs are reasonably calculated to provide educational benefit rather than a specific methodology. The document also notes requirements for peer-reviewed research in IEPs and that changing private providers does not necessarily deny FAPE.
This document discusses screening tools for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in children. It describes several existing screening tools like the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers and the Communication and Symbolic Behavior Scales. It then proposes a new Toddler and Young Children Autism Screening Questionnaire. The questionnaire screens children in areas like social interaction, communication, repetitive behaviors, play skills and sensory sensitivities. Improving early detection of ASD through effective screening tools can lead to enhanced developmental gains, improved social and communication skills, reduced challenging behaviors and increased school readiness for children with ASD.
How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

How to Fix the Import Error in the Odoo 17Celine George
An import error occurs when a program fails to import a module or library, disrupting its execution. In languages like Python, this issue arises when the specified module cannot be found or accessed, hindering the program's functionality. Resolving import errors is crucial for maintaining smooth software operation and uninterrupted development processes.
LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.
This document provides an overview of wound healing, its functions, stages, mechanisms, factors affecting it, and complications.
A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.

In Illinois schools this is what we
need to know:
Illinois School Code
definition of Autism
follows Federal
Law definition
Special education
eligibility vs diagnosis
32. Federal Register CFR 300.8(c)
• Autism means a developmental disability significantly affecting
verbal and nonverbal communication and social interaction,
generally evident before age three, that adversely affects a
child’s educational performance.
• Other characteristics often associated with autism are
engagement in repetitive activities and stereotyped movements,
resistance to environmental change or change in daily routines,
and unusual responses to sensory experiences.
• Autism does not apply if a child’s educational performance is
adversely affected primarily because the child has an emotional
disturbance, as defined in paragraph (c)(4) of this section.
• A child who manifests the characteristics of autism after age
three could be identified as having autism if the criteria in
paragraph (c)(1)(i) of this section are satisfied.
33. DSM 5 in the Schools
From Illinois School Codes 23 IAC 226.75
IDEA identifies 13 disabilities as the basis for students
eligibility for special education and related services. These
disabilities (autism, deaf-blindness, deafness, emotional
disability, hearing impairment, cognitive disability,
multiple disabilities, orthopedic impairment, other health
impairment, specific learning disability, speech or language
impairment, traumatic brain injury, and visual
impairment) shall be defined as set forth in 34 CFR
300.8(c). In addition, for the purposes of this Part,
autism shall include, but not be limited to, any
Autism Spectrum Disorder* that adversely affects
a child s educational performance.
34. DSM 5 in the Schools
• Current definition under IDEA not
based on DSM-IV – aligns more with
DSM 5
• Federal Disability Category - Autism
• Illinois - Autism Spectrum
• No change for now
35. DSM 5 in the Schools
• If new Autism Spectrum DX, meets eligibility
under Autism Spectrum and affects education:
• Autism Spectrum category for special education
services
• If former Asperger DX, meets eligibility under
Autism Spectrum and affects education:
• Autism Spectrum category for special education
services
• For new students with Social Communication DX:
• What category best fits?

36. DSM 5 in the Schools
• In review:
• No one needs a reevaluation based on DSM 5
• No one needs to lose eligibility based on
DSM 5
• No one needs to be made eligible under a
new category based on DSM 5
• No one needs to be re-diagnosed privately
due to DSM 5
37. Illinois Definition and Eligibility
§ Illinois uses IDEA definition of Autism
Autism means a developmental disability significantly affecting verbal and
nonverbal communication and social interaction, generally evident before
age three, that adversely affects a child’s educational performance. Other
characteristics often associated with autism are engagement in repetitive
activities and stereotyped movements, resistance to environmental change
or change in daily routines, and unusual responses to sensory experiences.
With one addition:
In addition, for the purposes of this Part, “autism” shall include, but not
be limited to, any Autism Spectrum Disorder that adversely affects a
child’s educational performance.
§ Illinois has NO single state wide eligibility criteria

• Focused Interventions vs. Treatment Packages
• NPDC - Individualized interventions with specific
implementation steps focused on goals
• NSP –Sometimes incorporating multiple focused
interventions into treatment “packages” of
comprehensive treatment programs

64. How Do you Decide?
• Professionals should know about instructional
practices and interventions that have been shown by
research to be most effective.
• EBP are matched to student’s individual
characteristics and skills to be taught
65. How Do you Decide?
• These research-based practices should then be
matched with a student’s unique needs and skills
when developing and implementing a student’s
Individualized Education Program (IEP).
• Use data to record what works so that evidence
can emerge over time that offers new insights into
teaching and learning for individual student.
67. Practice
— Review the case study information and select one or
“bring a student to mind”
— Decide on a skill you would like to teach or identify a
behavior area you would like to address
— Select three interventions from the EBP Matrix that
would be appropriate to implement and review with
your team why you selected those EBP.
— Program Planning Map
70. — “exceptional characteristics”[as defined on the EDC
report in IEP] must result in identified “adverse
effect”
— Each “adverse effect”[impact on educational
performance] must be addressed through
identification of educational need.
70
Statement of Educational Need:
71. — The annual goal represents the full IEP team s
vision of what the student can reasonably be
expected to accomplish [with specialized
support and instruction] over one school term.
71
Measurable Annual Goals:
72. The New IEP
— 4 goals based on student characteristics Vic to add
74. — The IEP team’s judgment of what is reasonable is
based on:
¡ the student’s current level of performance.
¡ the student’s “potential for learning”.
¡ the rate of development for what the student should be
learning.

77. Lessons Learned
— How many people attend conferences or workshops is
irrelevant
— What happens after the training is what changes behavior
and outcomes
— If you use all or substantial resources on training, you have
nothing left to assist in implementation
— You must invest in evaluation and monitoring to determine
outcomes of your efforts

80. How to Support Staff
— TEAM meetings – 15-20 MIN 2+x/mth
ü Identify needs, potential problems early, set up
team-based supports, planning and training.
ü Share goals, data and utilize supports across staff
and environments more consistently.
ü Results in shorter IEP meeting, less severe
behaviors, parental trust, more support for team
members
v Team meetings can often be ONE item identified by
staff as needed but not often provided in their
schools.
81. Invest in Coaching and Data Feedback
ü Use experienced staff to spread the knowledge
ü Provide a system for regular review of implementation
ü Arrange time for planning and support
ü Measure implementation
ü Measure outcomes
