Pastor Hunter and Chrissy Mizar come to the Intermountain District from the Kamiah Valley View
Church of the Nazarene on the Northwest District. The Mizars are graduates of Northwest Naza-
rene University, and Hunter completed a master’s degree from NNU in 2011.
Hunter grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, and received his call to preach as a seventh grader.
Chrissy has a degree in Business Ad-
ministration and is an accomplished
musician at both the piano and drums.
She has the gift of hospitality and sees
herself as a partner in ministry with her
husband.
The Mizars have a daughter, Emma,
who is 10 years old and a son, Joshua,
who is 5 1/2.
Their first Sunday at the Weiser
Church will be September 15. We wel-
come Pastor Mizar and his family to the
Intermountain District.
Pastor Rusty and Lauren Brian come to us from
the Kansas City Trinity Church of the Naza-
rene. The Brians both grew up primarily in New
Mexico. Rusty is a graduate of Point Loma Nazarene
University and Nazarene Theological Seminary. He
also earned his PhD degree from Garrett Theologi-
cal Seminary. As a youth pastor he regularly led the
denomination as a top fund raiser for the 30-hour
famine!
Lauren has a BA degree in Elementary Education
from Mid-America Nazarene University. Pastor
Brian describes her as an “amazing partner in ministry.” She gets involved with various ministries
and is always a leader.
Their daughter, Lily, is two years old and enjoys anything involving animals, playing with friends
and putting yogurt in her hair.
The Brians will begin their ministry at Payette on August 25. We welcome them to the Intermoun-
tain District team.

Alabaster Offering time is almost here. Here’s a new visual
idea to present your Alabaster offering:
Bring 2 identical containers with the same amount of•
Legos or colored blocks, etc. on a long table to the plat-
form.
Have 2 people join you (child, teen, adult). You can ask for volunteers, but that may take too•
much time. Tell them they have 2 min. and 30 sec. to construct a building or church.
While they are building, show a 2or 3 min. DVD clip on Alabaster (available on the NMI•
website). Remind them that Alabaster funds are used 100% to purchase property and build-
ings on the mission field.
Congratulate the chosen volunteers for their work.•
You can use this as an introduction or in advance as a reminder to the Alabaster Offering coming
up. I encourage all of our Pastors/NMI Presidents to be creative and try something new. If any of
you have new ideas, I would love to hear from you so I can share them with other leaders.

Dear Camp Friends:
We have had a very successful summer camp
season at Trinity Pines. We saw many new
faces of campers, and several campers were
there only because of your financial assistance
and from those who supported the 150 Club.
Thanks for making a summer camp experience
possible for these individuals.
We received great news that we are within
$3,000 of paying off the mortgage of the Man-
ager’s home. This has been a major thrust of the
District. We welcome your contribution to help
put us over the top on this debt and then we
can celebrate the accomplishment. Be sure to
clearly mark any donations as Centennial Club
or Debt Reduction.
Now our retreat season begins for adults.
The Adult Retreat will be held in September
and the District Women’s Retreat in October.
