Pre production online survey results music video
The survey results showed that most respondents prefer major labels' music over indie labels' music. R&B/hip hop was the most popular genre. YouTube and MTV were the most popular places to watch music videos. Respondents had a slight preference for music videos that focus on the music rather than telling a story. They also slightly preferred music videos with lots of special effects and flashing images over calm videos focusing on the story. The results were mixed on whether respondents preferred lip syncing or live performance videos.
