CLASS POLICY
1. I am very serious about attendance and punctuality. Students with poor attendance and
punctuality communicate to myself and to other students a lack of respect that is not in line with the
values of this school. Unless these students work to develop positive habits in this regard they will
find that they struggle seriously in the Professional World and may repeatedly fail in their life
pursuits. My goal is for you to succeed, this means holding you accountable to the standards that will
enable success.
2. Attendance will be taken every class at the exact meeting time.
3. Late arrivals or early departures without a valid excuse in excess of 25 min will be counted as
unexcused absences.
4. Excused absences or excused tardy arrivals include accidents/injuries, car trouble, sickness,
necessary doctor appointments or family/personal emergencies.
5. Unexcused absences or unexcused tardy arrivals include losing track of time, failing to arrange
consistent transportation, work or personal conflicts or other factors that are within your control.
6. Absences/tardies can be verified as excused with a short message via Canvas messenger the
day before your absence/tardy explaining your circumstances. Absences or tardies not verified this
way must be accompanied with documented proof (doctor visit receipt, photograph of flat tire) in
order to be considered excused.
7. More than 3 unexcused absences or unexcused tardies in excess of 25 minutes will result in a
failing (F) grade.

2. 8. Family and personal vacations are valuable life experiences and encouraged, however they do
not count as excused absences. Please alert me to forthcoming absences in this category and we
can work together to make sure you complete your work on time and do not fall behind.
9. Our final class meeting, is our final class meeting, No late work will be accepted after the end of
this class period. I will not accept digital images via messenger of incomplete projects after the final
class period. If a missing work is not presented to me during this final class the grade will be 0.
10. Unexcused late arrivals in excess of 30 minutes should be aware that no lesson will be repeated
for their benefit. It is also possible that the door will be locked and you will not be able to enter class.
11. If you arrive late after I have taken attendance, it is your responsibility to indicate to me that you
have arrived otherwise you will not be counted present.
12. Students who have stopped attending are responsible for withdrawing themselves from the
class, failure to do so will result in an F grade.
13. If after reading this you feel that you will be unable to consistently attend or arrive on time my
advice to you is to withdraw now.
