An organized group of thieves uses traps inside ATMs to steal customers' cards and PIN numbers. They place invisible film traps inside the card slot that capture cards when they are removed. An accomplice then pretends to help the confused customer, convincing them to enter their PIN in an attempt to recover their card. Once the thieves have both the card and PIN, they can withdraw money from the customer's account. The film traps are difficult to detect but customers should check for any signs of tampering before using an ATM.
