After watching the video, the teacher will ask the kids to retell the different situations, who are the characters,
etc.
Activity # 1:
Then the teacher will hand out the following copy:
2. This time, the kids will have to watch the video again and number the pictures, according to when these
characters appear in the video.
The kids will check the answers among them and then orally with the teacher. The group will discuss about if
they like or not toys, how many toys they have at home, etc. The main purpose of these short activities is to
elicit the idea of working with toys vocabulary.
Activity # 2:
Wall dictionary:
- The teacher will divide the group into two. She will hand out to one group different pictures of toys and to
the other, cards with words (the name of the toys). The kids will have three minutes to paint the pictures and
the words.
The teacher will ask the kids who have pictures to go (one by one) to the black board and stick the picture on
a poster. The teacher will ask the rest of the class if they know the name of that toy, ( E.g: What’s this? / It’s a
… (teddy bear) ) so the kid who has the word “teddy bear” will have to come to the poster and stick the label
under the picture. The teacher will do the same with the rest of the vocabulary, making the whole class think
and match picture with word.
This poster will be stuck on one of the classroom’s wall.
Activity # 3 :
Now that they have a vocabulary reference ( with pictures and words) the kids will do the following hot
potatoes activity ( JMATCH) , in which they will have to look at the picture, guess what it is and match with
the correct word.

and this time, the kids will have to listen to the song and remember how many toys are named. Together they
will list it on the board.
The teacher will then make emphasis on one line of the song that says “ It’s made of ….” She will ask the
kids to try to thing what this may be mean. She will ask the kids to think about what materials their favourite
toys are made of . The kids will provide the materials in Spanish and the teacher will write this material
vocabulary on the board, in English.
Activity # 1
Now that we have revised some toys words and introduce the materials, the kids, using a hot potatoes activity

and guess what she has got in her bag. She will say in my bag I HAVE GOT A …. And the kids will have to
touch, guess and complete the sentence. She then will say the opposite: in my bag I HAVEN’T GOT A …
