Procedure:
Routine (3 minutes)
(The students are always sitting on the floor waiting for the teacher) The teacher will greet
the students: “Hello children! And she will encourage students to answer: “Hello Miss Nadia!”
Then, she will ask them, “How are you today? Are you happy? Are you sad?” And she’ll
encourage them to answer YES or NO. (While the T asks these questions, she will show them two
flashcards and mime the moods).
She will ask ss to hold up their hands and sing the hello song.
Then, the teacher will ask them: How are you today? And she will
encourage them to answer “fine”.
The T will show ss a picture of Gloria (Teddy Bear’s friend) and ask ss: “Do you remember
her?” What is her name?” And she will encourage ss to say her name.
Warm – up (3 minutes) – brainstorm
The T will tell ss that we are going to find out what Gloria has in her school bag. She will
show them a school bag and encourage ss to name what objects we may find in her school bag,
she will guide ss with some questions such as: What do you think we can find in the school bag?
...a pencil? ... a rubber? (The T will show them flashcards for the ss to recognize the objects).
Then, the T will say to them: “Very good! Now, let’s find out Gloria’s school objects!”
Presentation (6 minutes)
For ss to remember and learn the new school object vocabulary, we will discover all
together the objects inside Gloria’s school bag. The T will start telling them: “In Gloria’s school
3. bag there is a ........ (pencil case). Inside the pencil case, there are two.......(pencils), there are
three ......(rubbers), there are four ....(glues) and some colour papers.”
The T will encourage ss to name the school objects they see and she will present the “glue” and
the “colour papers”. While she shows the colour papers, she will ask them: “What colour is this? Is
it (red)” She will show them 5 different colours: red, green, blue, yellow and pink.
Then, she will tell them: “Excellent! You are great! Now, Miss Nadia needs your help”
Development
Activity 1 (7 minutes) – checking comprehension.
The T will show ss a chart that we will complete all together in order to check their
comprehension.
1 1 2 3 4
First, the T will ask ss to name the numbers while she points at them. Then, she will show
ss the pictures of the school objects:
The T will choose a picture and show it to the ss, she will ask them: “What is this? Is it a rubber?
How many rubbers has Gloria got? And we will stick the picture on the correct number of the chart.
We will complete the entire chart all together according to Gloria’s objects.
The T will say to them: “Very good! Thanks for helping me. But, what is missing on those pictures.
Some colours?”
4. Activity 2 (8 minutes) – musical instructions game
The T will hand out to each ss some small squares made o colour papers: red, green, blue,
yellow and pink. First, she will ask the ss with a certain colour to stand up: “Yellow! Stand up!” and
so on for the entire class to stand up. Then, she will tell ss that we will listen to some music but
when the T stops it, she will call out a colour and a school object from the chart. They have to
stick those colour papers on the correct school object. We will check all together. The T will help
and encourage ss with some indications and questions, she will say: “The school bag is red! Who
has got colour red? Is this red?” We will stick the colour papers to complete all the pictures.
The T will say to them: “Fantastic! This is our new poster for the classroom” and she will
encourage ss to clap for the work done.
Closure (3 minutes)
The T will ask ss to sit down on a circle again and we will sing and mime the rhyme to say
goodbye: Bye! It’s time to say goodbye (finger pointing to the watch), see you next class- bye, bye,
bye, bye (we will blow some kisses).
