This document discusses and analyzes three music videos from different genres: 1) Slipknot's "Psychosocial" metal video highlights intense guitar playing and scary masked characters to portray the band as dangerous. Scenes of the whole band playing by fire further this image. 2) Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" pop video features the singer dancing and singing skillfully. Long shots show off his dancing abilities, and close-ups focus on his singing face as the central focal point. 3) Eminem's "Rap God" rap video portrays the rapper in baggy, rebellious clothing. Close-ups emphasize his rapping skills while keeping him as the constant focus,

2. (Metal) Slipknot- "Psychosocial"
Highlighting the guitar
playing with a close up of
him playing the guitar as
this is a key stereotype of
metal music.
USP: Scary/ Insane type of
character with the strange
masks to make them look
scary or not human.
Shows the whole band
playing together behind
and around fire to show
them being more
dangerous and makes the
video more scary which
highlights the band.
Shows the band head
banging which is a key
stereo type of metal music
videos showing the
intensity of the band in the
video and what they would
be like live.

3. (POP) Bruno Mars- "Uptown Funk"
USP: The blazer, hat and
glasses present him
as a funky good dancer and
singer.
The long shots shows his
whole body highlighting his
dancing skill which is a key
part of his USP.
The close up of the lead
singers face shows his
singing skill and there are
many of these shots seen
through out the video.
This shows, as well as all of
the other screenshots,
that the lead singer (Bruno
Mars) is always at the
center and is the focal
points at all time sin the
music video.

4. (RAP) Eminem - Rap God
USP: Baggy clothes with
the backpack show shim as
a urban city person making
him look rebellious.
Close ups of the main
rapper to show off his
rapping skills to
the viewers.
The main rapper is always
the focal point of the video
always being in the
center of the group
showing him as the main
point of the video.
The high shot above the
crowd captures the
energy of not only the
crowd but also the
artist which shows the
viewer what the artist
would be like at a concert.
