Online Learning, Flipped Learning,
Blended Learning

- Online learning describes any forms of pedagogy
delivered using digital technology. (Bahas, etc, 2021)
- Online pedagogy can also facilitate group learning and
the assistance of instructors within specific fields (Aziaris,
2015)
Online learning
1. The familiarity of with gadgets and computers among these
students might be the reason why they felt comfortable and easy
to learn via the online platforms
2. Available online platforms encourage social learning to enhance
learning engagement between teachers and students, students
and students (Samat et al., 2020)
3. The exposure and familiarity to the gadgets from their
surroundings have helped to shape their behaviour to use the
electronic communication equipment for learning (Ajzen, 2002)
Advantages of Online Learning
1. It can be ineffective due to a lack of interaction between pupils
and teachers
2. It makes difficult for pupils to conduct group work virtually
3. The lack of social interaction might also decrease learning
motivation
4. Teachers need to improve pedagogical methods, improvise
aspects of the curriculum to suit for online learning
Disadvantages of Online Learning
Flipped Learning is an approach that allows teachers to
implement a methodology, various methodologies, in their
classrooms (Sams et al., 2014)
Flipped Learning
Flipped learning, also known as the flipped classroom, is an
instructional approach that reverses the traditional teaching
model. In a flipped classroom, students first engage with
instructional content at home (e.g., by watching video lectures
or reading materials) and then come to class to engage in
active, collaborative learning activities, such as discussions,
problem-solving, and projects.
