psychology and the criminal justice system. The biopsychosocial factors that may influence criminal
behavior are examined such as aggression, psychopathy, mental health disorders, and brain dysfunction.
Finally, appropriate psychological interventions are evaluated to determine the best course of action for
predicting and treating criminal behavior in both juveniles and adults.
This course provides students with foundational knowledge regarding the psychological and sociological
characteristics associated with criminal behavior. The textbook and other course sources examine the
complex nature of criminal behaviors through a variety of theories, methodologies, and perspectives.
Case studies and real‐life examples are also included. Through discussions, journal activities, written
assignments, and a Comprehensive Case Study Report Final Paper, students will utilize course content as
well as additional scholarly research to critically consider concepts that focus on the evolution of
criminal and delinquent behavior.

Which reading assignments were the most challenging to you?
The reading assignments that was most challenging to me was learning more about probable Cause, Stop & Frisk and Miranda Case. These assignments have challenge my mindset to understand how criminal justice and laws must be used.
In what way did they challenge you?
The way they challenge me was also giving important information that I didn’t know about how law was created. Learning new information is very knowledgeable and must be used with important needs. Many laws changes each year and all law enforcement officials should know the laws to conduct their duties to which they have taken an oath by.
What measures did you take to overcome the challenges?
Some measure that I used to overcome these challenges were learning more about how criminal procedure is conducted, understanding about what the criminal justice system is and focusing my knowledge better to use in my law enforcement career.
What is your learning from these challenges that you would like to share with your classmates?
I have learned a great deal upon how to use Criminal Procedure as a school setting to understand further what laws that are used in courtroom cases. Which reading assignments were the most challenging to you?
The reading assignments that was most challenging to me was learning more about probable Cause, Stop & Frisk and Miranda Case. These assignments have challenge my mindset to understand how criminal justice and laws must be used.
In what way did they challenge you?
The way they challenge me was also giving important information that I didn’t know about how law was created. Learning new information is very knowledgeable and must be used with important needs. Many laws changes each year and all law enforcement officials should know the laws to conduct their duties to which they have taken an oath by.
What measures did you take to overcome the challenges?
Some measure that I used to overcome these challenges were learning more about how criminal procedure is conducted, understanding about what the criminal justice system is and focusing my knowledge better to use in my law enforcement career.

How do we make sense of our city – so full of the cultures of the world, yet so divided? This Seminar on Multiculturalism in the United States takes a geographic approach to how ideas of diversity and multiculturalism are imagined, debated and lived through lenses of race, class, gender, sexuality, culture and power. We will consider examples from across the United States but focus on the urban history and present struggles of the City of Chicago. We will think through “geographies of encounter” and experiences of multiculturalism in everyday life, and practice discussion and debate on how we navigate human difference in our city today. We begin by critically questioning the reality and the debate around multiculturalism, then dive into the “City of Neighborhoods” and examine the relationships between geography and power. We devote particular attention to black, Latino and white Chicagos, and then follow the historical upheavals that have rearranged the present urban landscape, as segregation, suburbanization, Urban Renewal, gentrification, privatization, and place-making contend to remake the city. Students will read critical texts assessed through weekly quizzes, write weekly reading reviews, conduct original ethnographic fieldwork in Chicago neighborhoods, and practice writing and presenting cogent arguments and interpretations of what it means to live in a multicultural city.

Problem Statement:
The problem that will be addressed is how African American Male Juveniles do not get offered rehabilitation methods but they get punished to serve incarceration time. This leads to higher recidivism rates because they do not have alternative resources.
Theoretical Framework: Social Bond Theory
The social bond theory shows support that a juvenile who has attachment to something are less likely to commit delinquent acts. This is a faith-based initiative that provides informal relationships that postulated positive feelings of attachment while making it important to not commitment delinquent acts.
There are also theories that prove what contributes to delinquent behavior. One of those theories is the differential association theory which states that those juveniles who are affiliated with criminals have a higher propensity to become criminal themselves. On the other hand there is the strain theory, which offers a different perspective that people tend to respond to the different stressors that life brings differently. Your State v. Mark
Mark Davis has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) for reckless driving, speeding, four counts of felony assault, and one count of involuntary manslaughter as the result of a crash that occurred on a night out with his friends. Mark has been out on bail and pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned. The Judge set a date for Mark's trial and his defense team has been working to collect information about the technology used by the Highway Patrol to reconstruct the crash.
District Attorney O'Malley offered Mark a plea bargain, but Mark chose to take his chances at trial. Mark's attorney, Mr. Chen Long, advised Mark that accepting the plea offer was completely up to Mark, although Mr. Long advised against accepting it because the defense planned to highlight mistakes made by law enforcement during the investigation that could create reasonable doubt in the minds of the jurors.
The trial begins and during the voir dire of potential jurors, several individuals are excused because they have previous knowledge of Mark's case from the media. Two individuals stated that they could not be impartial because they had loved ones killed in alcohol related crashes as well. Eventually, two men and ten women were seated in Mark's trial.
District Attorney O'Malley presented the State's case clearly and concisely depicting a night on the town full of heavy drinking, which ultimately resulted in Mark's actions causing the death of one individual and injuring four others. Highway Patrolman Green explained to the jury that he immediately suspected alcohol when he arrived on scene because Mark appeared to be intoxicated when they spoke. Following the Judge ruling that it was admissible and not prejudicial, Sergeant Rodney Monroe, from the Highway Patrol Reconstruction Team presented their reconstruction complete with a high-tech computer animated reenactment of the crash. During the cross examination, Defense Attorney Long challenged the reconstruction because the Defense Crash Reconstruction Expert had discovered errors in the mathematical calculations for vehicle speed. The jury appeared to have liked the reconstruction very much regardless of the errors highlighted by the defense.
Mark was convicted of DWI, four counts of felony assault, and one count of involuntary manslaughter; however, he was acquitted of reckless driving and speeding. The Jury said they could not convict Mark of those offenses because of the mistakes made by law enforcement officers during the investigation.
Because Mark pleads not guilty, but was convicted during trial and had two prior DWI offenses, he was sentenced to ten years in the State Prison. Defense Attorney Long immediately notified the court of an impending appeal that would be filed by the defendant. In a report, using external sources to support your claims, answer the following:

Daugherty described her car as a 2009 black Toyota Corolla. The registration is 123-ABC. The car is valued at approximately $13,000 and has a sunroof and a dent on the back left fender from a grocery cart.
Daugherty stated that she had locked the car after exiting but did not have the keys with her at the time. She also said that she had left the keys in a lock box in the gas tank so that she did not have to worry about losing them. Daugherty stated that she had not given anyone permission to take her vehicle and was current on her auto payments so there was no possibility of repossession.

· If a publication receives multiple letters on the same subject, the editor will choose one that says something in a new way or takes a unique angle.
· Focus your letter on one point on one subject. If you are commenting on a specific story in the paper, mention the headline and date. Cite the specific reference and sum it up in a sentence to refresh readers’ memories. Then point out facts that were left out, or refute or support facts that were stated.
· Be clear and concise. Shorter is better. Most papers want letters of 250 words or less. Magazines such as Time want even less.
· State your point early in the letter and support your point with facts.
· Know the audience of the publication. Technical information and long, multi-syllable words are often inappropriate for a general audience.
· If appropriate, mention your motivation or expertise in writing. For example, “As an Ohio State University student, I believe… and therefore x,” or “I am a director of a non-profit agency that serves families in poverty. Here is what my experience has been….That is why I believe y.”

Get attention right away; your opening sentence is very important. It should make the reader want to read more.
3. Explain what the letter is about at the start.
Throughout your letter, remember the rule:

4. Explain why the issue is important.

Assignment Scenario
Ms. Cheney was a case manager at an outpatient clinic that provided a variety of services. One of her clients was Ms. Rosalind, who was receiving services because of a recent divorce. Ms. Cheney had also experienced a divorce in her past and thought she had effectively dealt with that experience, but found herself identifying with many comments made by Ms. Rosalind.
Through their work together, the two women realized they shared many common interests. They often found themselves talking about these shared interests in their time together and eventually began meeting for coffee after their sessions. Ms. Rosalind soon suggested they begin spending additional time together socially and Ms. Cheney agreed. Before long, they became fast friends, spending a significant amount of social time together on evenings and weekends, visiting clubs, going to movies or visiting local restaurants.
After several months, the two had a falling out about a gentleman both women favored. Ms. Rosalind filed a complaint with the Regulatory agency in her state about the relationship.

How do we make sense of our city – so full of the cultures of the world, yet so divided? This Seminar on Multiculturalism in the United States takes a geographic approach to how ideas of diversity and multiculturalism are imagined, debated and lived through lenses of race, class, gender, sexuality, culture and power. We will consider examples from across the United States but focus on the urban history and present struggles of the City of Chicago. We will think through “geographies of encounter” and experiences of multiculturalism in everyday life, and practice discussion and debate on how we navigate human difference in our city today. We begin by critically questioning the reality and the debate around multiculturalism, then dive into the “City of Neighborhoods” and examine the relationships between geography and power. We devote particular attention to black, Latino and white Chicagos, and then follow the historical upheavals that have rearranged the present urban landscape, as segregation, suburbanization, Urban Renewal, gentrification, privatization, and place-making contend to remake the city. Students will read critical texts assessed through weekly quizzes, write weekly reading reviews, conduct original ethnographic fieldwork in Chicago neighborhoods, and practice writing and presenting cogent arguments and interpretations of what it means to live in a multicultural city.

Problem Statement:
The problem that will be addressed is how African American Male Juveniles do not get offered rehabilitation methods but they get punished to serve incarceration time. This leads to higher recidivism rates because they do not have alternative resources.
Theoretical Framework: Social Bond Theory
The social bond theory shows support that a juvenile who has attachment to something are less likely to commit delinquent acts. This is a faith-based initiative that provides informal relationships that postulated positive feelings of attachment while making it important to not commitment delinquent acts.
There are also theories that prove what contributes to delinquent behavior. One of those theories is the differential association theory which states that those juveniles who are affiliated with criminals have a higher propensity to become criminal themselves. On the other hand there is the strain theory, which offers a different perspective that people tend to respond to the different stressors that life brings differently. One of which could include criminal behavior. These theories support Travis Hirchi's social bond theory which is a theoretical framework model.

Your State v. Mark
Mark Davis has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) for reckless driving, speeding, four counts of felony assault, and one count of involuntary manslaughter as the result of a crash that occurred on a night out with his friends. Mark has been out on bail and pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned. The Judge set a date for Mark's trial and his defense team has been working to collect information about the technology used by the Highway Patrol to reconstruct the crash.
District Attorney O'Malley offered Mark a plea bargain, but Mark chose to take his chances at trial. Mark's attorney, Mr. Chen Long, advised Mark that accepting the plea offer was completely up to Mark, although Mr. Long advised against accepting it because the defense planned to highlight mistakes made by law enforcement during the investigation that could create reasonable doubt in the minds of the jurors.
The trial begins and during the voir dire of potential jurors, several individuals are excused because they have previous knowledge of Mark's case from the media. Two individuals stated that they could not be impartial because they had loved ones killed in alcohol related crashes as well. Eventually, two men and ten women were seated in Mark's trial.
District Attorney O'Malley presented the State's case clearly and concisely depicting a night on the town full of heavy drinking, which ultimately resulted in Mark's actions causing the death of one individual and injuring four others. Highway Patrolman Green explained to the jury that he immediately suspected alcohol when he arrived on scene because Mark appeared to be intoxicated when they spoke. Following the Judge ruling that it was admissible and not prejudicial, Sergeant Rodney Monroe, from the Highway Patrol Reconstruction Team presented their reconstruction complete with a high-tech computer animated reenactment of the crash. During the cross examination, Defense Attorney Long challenged the reconstruction because the Defense Crash Reconstruction Expert had discovered errors in the mathematical calculations for vehicle speed. The jury appeared to have liked the reconstruction very much regardless of the errors highlighted by the defense.
Mark was convicted of DWI, four counts of felony assault, and one count of involuntary manslaughter; however, he was acquitted of reckless driving and speeding. The Jury said they could not convict Mark of those offenses because of the mistakes made by law enforcement officers during the investigation.
Because Mark pleads not guilty, but was convicted during trial and had two prior DWI offenses, he was sentenced to ten years in the State Prison. Defense Attorney Long immediately notified the court of an impending appeal that would be filed by the defendant. In a report, using external sources to support your claims, answer the following:

A group of mischievous juveniles hang out at a 24 hour Burger Joint on Tenth Street on a fairly regular basis and often get into Saturday night scuffles with other groups of juveniles, which require the police to respond to clear the area. The owner of the Burger Joint has become increasingly concerned about a drastic decrease in sales; however, he continued to look the other way until the scuffles escalated into full-blown fights that involved weapons, such as knives or brass knuckles.
Recently, the owner of the Burger Joint called 911 in a panic because he thought he heard gunshots fired from the parking lot area during a scuffle. Officers from the Centervale Police Department (CPD) arrived on the scene to find several youths involved in a physical fight provoked by a verbal attack, but there were no visible signs of weapons. Officer Jack Newbie just completed Taser training at the Centervale Police Academy. Officer Newbie believes carrying a "non-lethal" alternative to a firearm is beneficial for law enforcement officers.
Officer Newbie and his partner proceeded with caution when attempting to break-up the fight at the Burger Joint because reports of weapons involvement can create very dangerous situations for officers as they approach. Sam White, 15 years old, who was not actively involved in the physical aspect of the scuffle, tried to flee from the scene. Officer Newbie did not give verbal commands before firing his Taser at White as he fled. The Taser's 50,000-volt of electric shock caused White to go into cardiac arrest upon impact, but he was revived on the way to Centervale Memorial hospital. White's girlfriend, Rosey Green, a small-framed female, who was visibly showing signs of pregnancy, was distraught and angry over White's condition. At approximately 9:30 p.m. on April 1, 2012, I, Officer R. T. Smith was dispatched to a stolen vehicle complaint at 123 Main Street in Centervale. I met with the complainant, Jane Daugherty, who said that she had parked her car by a meter while entering into Fuzzy's Furniture Store. Before returning to her car she had stopped at the sandwich shop to pick up dinner. Daugherty returned to her car at approximately 10:30 p.m. This is when she discovered her car had been stolen.
Daugherty described her car as a 2009 black Toyota Corolla. The registration is 123-ABC. The car is valued at approximately $13,000 and has a sunroof and a dent on the back left fender from a grocery cart.
Daugherty stated that she had locked the car after exiting but did not have the keys with her at the time. She also said that she had left the keys in a lock box in the gas tank so that she did not have to worry about losing them. Daugherty stated that she had not given anyone permission to take her vehicle and was current on her auto payments so there was no possibility of repossession.

A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.
