This document reviews the aerodynamic performance of various passive flow control devices used around bluff bodies, particularly focusing on their impact on drag and lift coefficients in automotive design. It highlights the effectiveness of combining wind tunnel experiments with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to optimize vehicle shapes for reduced fuel consumption and improved aerodynamic efficiency. The findings suggest significant drag reductions can be achieved through various means such as vortex generators, splitter plates, deflectors, and more, analyzing numerous configurations to enhance overall vehicle performance.
