Purpose of Assessment 2
This assessment is designed to allow students to continue to
develop their research and analytical skills, applying the subject
theory relating to organisational processes and technologies, to
explain how and why real world organisations are managed, and
how they respond to changes in the environment.
(this purpose is in the point of lecturer, so it should not be your
purpose of report, but information in red colour is related to the
purpose of your report)

There have been many criticisms of the business practices that
company has pursued over the years. Describe TWO of these
practices and outline the outcomes.
Perform an environmental analysis for the involvement of the
organisation in the context of the industry(ies) it operates in –
what are the main opportunities & threats?
Describe the organisational culture or leadership style within
the organisation.

Organizational culture
is a system of shared assumptions, values, and beliefs, which
governs how people behave in organizations. These shared
values have a strong influence on the people in
the organization and dictate how they dress, act, and perform
their jobs

Michigan Studies - three critical characteristics of effective
leaders: task oriented behaviour, relationship-oriented
behaviour, and participative leadership.
Trait & Behavioural theories -Attempt to describe the types of
behavior and personality tendencies associated with effective

environmental and situational considerations into leader
behaviour.

Functional leadership - Suggests that a leader’s primary
responsibility is to see that whatever is necessary in relation to
group needs is taken care of.
Transactional & Transformational leadership - The transactional
leader focuses on managerial reward and contingent valuation.
The transformational leader focuses on motivation and goal
attainment.
Research requirements
Students are to support their analysis and conclusions with the
text and a minimum of 5 recent and relevant academic journal
articles (written after 2007, where possible).

Assessment 2 Assessment Type: individual assessment 2000 – 2500 word report, not includes a cover page, table of contents, reference, appendix How many pages? – 5-7 pages (if 400 words in per page) Purpose of Assessment 2 This assessment is designed to allow students to continue to develop their research and analytical skills, applying the subject theory relating to organisational processes and technologies, to explain how and why real world organisations are managed, and how they respond to changes in the environment. (this purpose is in the point of lecturer, so it should not be your purpose of report, but information in red colour is related to the purpose of your report) Assessment 2

Submission: Upload a soft copy – Word .doc or .docx to Moodle and Turnitin ( Do not use Apple Mac file , Image file type – if your files can’t be open, a mark can’t be given) Topic: Strategic Development within an organisation . Lendlease Group http://www.lendlease.com/site%20settings/splashpage.aspx Task Details Briefly trace the development and growth of the organisation from its beginnings to the present through the application of corporate strategies – what types of strategies have these been? There have been many criticisms of the business practices that company has pursued over the years. Describe TWO of these practices and outline the outcomes. Perform an environmental analysis for the involvement of the organisation in the context of the industry(ies) it operates in – what are the main opportunities & threats? Describe the organisational culture or leadership style within the organisation.

These shared values have a strong influence on the people in the organization and dictate how they dress, act, and perform their jobs

Task 4 – see week 8 topic You may study Leadership theories Michigan Studies - three critical characteristics of effective leaders: task oriented behaviour, relationship-oriented behaviour, and participative leadership. Trait & Behavioural theories -Attempt to describe the types of behavior and personality tendencies associated with effective leadership. Incorporate environmental and situational-Incorporate environmental and situational considerations into leader behaviour. Task 4 -see week 8 topic You may study Leadership theories Functional leadership - Suggests that a leader’s primary responsibility is to see that whatever is necessary in relation to group needs is taken care of. Transactional & Transformational leadership - The transactional leader focuses on managerial reward and contingent valuation. The transformational leader focuses on motivation and goal

Research requirements Students are to support their analysis and conclusions with the text and a minimum of 5 recent and relevant academic journal articles (written after 2007, where possible). Presentation of the report Report Structure Title page, Executive summary, Table of contents, Suitable headings and subheadings, Conclusions, Reference list (Harvard – Anglia style). Typed using 12 pt Times New Roman or 11 pt Calibri fonts. Single line spacing, Number of words.
