Launched in January 2018, to remove the heterogeneity of living
standards to quickly and effectively transform the districts.

4. REASONS
• In 2016 the rank of India was 131 out of 188 countries in
Human Development Index
• Significant inter state and inter district variations in living
standards in India

5. CORE STRATEGIES
Convergence of Central and State schemes
Collaboration of central, state Prabhari Officers and District Collectors
Competition Promotion by measuring the progress and ranking the
district accordingly
Districts to aspire: From State`s best to Nation`s best

6. 112 districts was selected from 27 states
The selection was based on:
• Health
• Education
• Infrastructure
