Java was developed by Sun Microsystems in 1995 as a general purpose object-oriented programming language based on C and C++. It was designed to be portable and platform independent through its "write once, run anywhere" ability, making it well-suited for web and internet applications. Java addressed limitations of C and C++ by being portable and secure, meeting demands of the emerging World Wide Web.

3.  In 1995, JAVA was first publicly released.

-Trouble with C/C++ language is that they
are not portable and are not platform
independent.
-Emergence World wide web , which
demanded portable programs.
 Portability and Security necessitated the
invention of Java.
