1 John 2:3-10 Tests reveal where we are compared to where we should be in specific areas. Do you really know God? Do you obey God? Do you walk like Jesus walked? Do you love your brethren?
Lesson by Mike Smith In 1 John 5:1-6 we are shown how to overcome the world. Come and see how you can overcome through your obedient faith in Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:12-14 Magnifying Christ. John said Jesus must increase and he must decrease. Christians should be magnifying Christ and diminishing themselves. We do this by defending the gospel, preaching Christ, trusting Christ, living without shame, living for Christ, producing fruit, desiring to be with Him, Putting others needs first, fellowshipping fellow christians, working together with other christians.
John 17:20-23 Love comes from God, God is love, Love is sacrificial, love is to be imitated, love can be seen, love flows from the spirit, love should be spread, love is foundational to all we believe as christians, love gives us boldness, love reflects the family resemblance, love is fearless, love reproduces itself

You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. - James 4:1-3
In other words, if your needs just keep on not being taken care of, it’s either because you’re not praying at all or because you think you’re praying and you’re not!

Today we are going to talk about a very basic question, what is a church, and how can we see as being in a church? When we drive on the street, we often see church buildings one after another in the city. But is this the church mentioned in the Bible? What else should be in the church? We often see young people no longer go to church after they leave their parents. Parents often worry about their spiritual condition and whether they believe in Jesus Christ can be passed on. We will discuss this issue from the perspective of the Bible.

What's Down The Road?" - First of all it depends which road we are on. Are we on the broad road that leads to eternal death or are we on the narrow road that leads to everlasting life? (Mat 7:13,14). Secondly, It is not within man's ability to “direct his own steps” through this life! (Jer. 10:23). What's down the road in this life for the person following God's instructions compared to the one who doesn't? (Some thoughts for the young, married, parents & local churches) –

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

9. TOPIC: ASK FOR THE OLD WAYS
TEXT: Jer. 6:16; Hab. 3:1-2 (TLB, MSG, KJV)
10/16/2013 9
10. STUDY OUTLINE
1. Understanding the concept of the old
paths
2. What are the old paths on which God
desires us to follow?
3. Why ask for the old paths?
4. How can we retrace our steps to the
right paths?
5. The outcome of yielding to God’s call for
revival.

11. UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPT OF THE OLD PATHS
A traveller is going to a particular city; he
comes to a place where the road divides
into several paths, he is afraid of going
astray; he stops short, - endeavors to find
out the right path: he cannot fix his
choice. At last he sees another traveller;
he inquires of him, gets proper directions
- proceeds on his journey and finally
arrives at the desired place.
10/16/2013 11
12. UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPT OF THE OLD PATHS
The LORD said: My people, when you
stood at the crossroads, I told you,
"Follow the road your ancestors took, and
you will find peace." But you refused.
(Jeremiah 6:16 CEV)
10/16/2013 12
13. UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPT OF THE OLD PATHS
The old way God desires us to seek does not refer to
archaic or obsolete ways of doing things.
WHY?
The latter rain will always be greater than the former
Zachariah 10:1.
The glory of the latter house will ever be greater in
splendor than the former.
Haggai 2:6-9.
Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were
better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely
concerning this.
Ecclesiastes 7:10.
10/16/2013 13
14. UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPT OF THE OLD PATHS
To ask for the old way does not connote
the kind of worship we offered God in our
times of ignorance nor the way we
exercised faith and understood the
manifestations of God from myopic
perspectives.
What God is bringing our way this season is a call to revival which we all must heed to and hunger for. There is a great awakening that is about to sweep t

15. UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPT OF THE OLD PATHS
The good way is that which has been trodden by the
saints from the beginning: it is the old way, the way
of faith and holiness. This is the way; let us inquire
for it, and walk in it.
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you
of the common salvation, it was needful for me to
write unto you, and exhort you that ye should
earnestly contend for the faith which was once
delivered unto the saints.
◦ (Jude 1:3)
Your soul needs rest; it can only find this by walking
in the good way.
Matthew 11:29

What God is bringing our way this season is a
call to revival which we all must heed to and

There is a great awakening that is about to

Hab.2:14, but we all must be sensitive and
active partakers in this mighty wave of His

Once again, God is going to shake the
heavens and the earth-this is the old way
God is beginning to do in our midst.
