Civility: They’re Your New Clothes, So Wear Them Well!CompassChurch
And what makes a healthy culture, and a healthy church, is not that we all walk in lock-step with one another. But that we trust each other enough, we have enough relational capital, that we’ve earned the right to fight, and to challenge each other.
Just as you have a character, so does your marriage. Is it spiritual or earthly? Through considering the character of your marriage, you can learn to triumph over sin and become more holy.

This is the slideshow (without the youtube video) of the talk "I Belong" by Pastor Brent Lokker at Blazing Fire Church on Saturday March 3, 2012. www.blazingfire.org to find the podcast.
Lets first look at the words Perfect and Perfection from a Biblical perspective.
These words in Hebrew are translated as “tamam”
Perfect connotes wholeness, soundness, integrity, and often takes on ethical significance; Perfection connotes completeness, perfection, and can carry the aesthetic sense of comeliness or beauty.
Nearly all New Testament occurrences translate Greek words sharing the tel- stem, from which some half-dozen words are formed that bear the sense of completion or wholeness.
This Path to Jesus takes us beyond His Resurrection through the Ascension to the Coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, and asks what the Church is now to do with our faith.
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel (good news) to all creation (Jew and non-Jew). Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”
– Mark 16:15-16 –
The word “saint” comes from the Greek word hagios, which means “consecrated to God, holy, sacred, pious." It is almost always used in the plural, “saints.”
This looks at different parenting types and see how that corresponds to different related views we have about God. The metaphor of God as Father gives insight about God, but also can give insight as to being a good father.

In today's class (March 22) we are beginning in our study of the DOCTRINE OF THE TRINITY.
When is the last time most Christians have studied the Trinity and understand why it is so essential to our Christian faith? The goal in the next few weeks is to better understand and be able as a group to articulate this which comes under our study of the Doctrine of God.
From whatever angle we choose to view the age we live in today,
the letter that Paul wrote to the Colossians 2,000 years ago is still
amazingly relevant. This message focuses on our position in Christ and
putting to death the old nature.
These slides are intended to explain Christmas to those who may be unfamiliar, such as international students. The perspective is from the Bible. Good for presentations.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

2. 1 If then you were raised with Christ,
seek what is above, where Christ is
seated at the right hand of God.
2 Think of what is above, not of what
is on earth.
3 For you have died, and your life is
hidden with Christ in God.
4 When Christ your life appears, then
you too will appear with him in glory.
Catholic Lectionary. 2009. Bellingham, WA: Logos Bible Software.
3. St. Paul is explaining true Christian
behavior.
People have found a long lasting
happiness by following the
behaviors that Christ explained as
being acceptable to the Father.
We now live in a temporal, a
temporary life.
By accepting Jesus’ teachings and
internalizing them you will come
to live by new moral and ethical
standards.
Skipping down to verses 12-17 St.
Paul gives us a plan, a path to
follow on our journey to heaven,
12 Put on then, as God’s chosen
ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt
compassion, kindness, humility,
gentleness, and patience,
13 bearing with one another and
forgiving one another, if one has a
grievance against another; as the
Lord has forgiven you, so must you
also do.
14 And over all these put on love,
that is, the bond of perfection.
15 And let the peace of Christ control
your hearts, the peace into which
you were also called in one body.
And be thankful.
New American Bible
4. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell
in you richly, as in all
wisdom you teach and
admonish one another,
singing psalms, hymns, and
spiritual songs with gratitude
in your hearts to God.
17 And whatever you do, in
word or in deed, do
everything in the name of the
Lord Jesus, giving thanks to
God the Father through him.
Therefore, the path to follow
is:
Live with a compassionate
and forgiving attitude (Col.
3:12-13).
Live in love which leads to
perfect harmony (Col. 3:14).
Live by allowing Christ to rule
your hearts (Col. 3:15).
Live in thanksgiving for past,
present and future gifts of
the Lord’s grace (Col. 3:15).
5. Live by allowing God’s word to
guide your life (Col. 3:16).
Live life as a representative of
God, a model of the Christian
life style.
In Luke we read, 2133 Heaven
and earth will pass away, but
my words will not pass away.
Recall Matthew 27: 52 the tombs
also were opened, and many
bodies of the saints who had
fallen asleep were raised,
St. Paul is pointing out to the
Colossians that they should not
focus their lives and actions on
the benefits of this world but
should focus on the next.
Mt. 16 26-27 For what will it profit a
man, if he gains the whole world
and forfeits his life? Or what
shall a man give in return for his
life?
27 For the Son of man is to come
with his angels in the glory of his
Father, and then he will repay
every man for what he has done.
