A New emerging problem:
Glass has emerged as the single most used materials in
defining the looks of a building. It is used everywhere from
airports to offices and museums to universities.
However it is an irony that this advanced building material
has seen little advancement in the way it is cleaned and
maintained.
Background image: Rajiv Gandhi International Airport: A potential Customer
Currently most of the glass windows are
cleaned by HUMANS hanging on ropes!
This method has low efficiency, low speed, high cost
and most importantly high risk to human life.
Background image: fleet of people cleaning the ‘Burj Khalifa’
More Problems
• Men hanging at your window create ruckus
and distraction.
• The window cleaning activity takes a whole
day if not days.
• Hence,
Loss in productivity at offices
Affects privacy at hotels
Drop in sales at shops
Background image: A window cleaner appears outside a meeting hall
Solution
A robotic system that is efficientand agile
Our core competencies include:
• High cleaning efficiency and speed.
• Ability to work at night.
• Ability to access the most distant windows
Team
Ujjawal Aggarwal: Currently pursuing B.E.(Hons.) Manufacturing
Engineering at BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus , he is the head of the
Mechanical division and taking care of the mechanical aspects of the
robot. His extensive knowledge of fluid Dynamics made this Project
feasible. He is also good in business tactics.
Suraj Partani: Currently pursuing M.Sc.(Hons.) Physics +
B.E.(Hons.) Electrical and Electronics Engineering at BITS Pilani
Hyderabad Campus, he is the head of the Electronics Division and
taking care of the control and automation of the robot. He has got
experience in wide range of fields.
Target Customer and Uniqueness
• The target customers would be
commercial buildings with large glass
areas like malls and offices.
• Unlike manual glass cleaning this system
is very fast and involves no life risking.
• The robot is capable of working at night
hence no disturbance during office hours.
Background image: Offices in high rise buildings.
Market Opportunity
• With systems cleaning at 3500 sq. ft. per hour, the
revenue per hour is as high as Rs. 10,000 per hour.
• However, number of customers will limit the annual
income.
• As per Wikipedia there are almost 2800 high rises in
Delhi NCR area itself.
• After 24 months we shall be in a position to control all
the glass cleaning in India. Later we can expand to
other countries.
Background image: Manual Glass cleaning
Market Opportunity
• Annual revenue for a city like Delhi NCR is
estimated to be 50 lakh per annum for as little as
125 customers only.
• Considering India as a market, revenue is
estimated to be over 3 crores within first few years.
• Beyond Indian market the revenue starts to grow
exponentially as more developed countries like
Singapore and USA are targeted.
Background image: A potential customer.
Business Model
• Target sector: Service sector.
• We will use the robot for providing glass cleaning
services.
• The charges will vary from Rs 1.5/ sq ft to Rs 7/sq
ft depending upon various factors like dust
amount, mineral deposits, window spacing etc.
• We will provide cleaning services at non-working
hours including night hours.
Implementation Plan
We are currently on the prototyping stage. Once the
prototype is made, it will be patented. Patenting
process for a key component has already begun.
Once the prototype is tested and verified, we will be
starting our services with Hyderabad and later
expand to other major cities of the country.
We will be offering free cleaning services for the first
time in order to get customer attraction.
Goals
• In the next 3 – 6 months:
We plan to complete the existing model and make it autonomous.
we will be filing IPR in India and in US. We will also be doing beta
testing during this phase.
• In the next 12 – 18 months
After the sufficient testing, we will be launching our venture throughout
the major cities in India. At this stage we will become profitable.
• In the next 5 years
We will be expanding to other major nations like US, China, Dubai etc.
Current Achievements
 We developed our first POC in September 2015, this model was duly tested and
verified.
 We have developed unique mechanisms for sticking to glass.
 We have tested the algorithms for cleaning and interfaced all the sensors
required in the robot.
 We have filled a provisional Patent for our non-destructive sticking mechanism.
 We developed this new model and were successful in creating the required
suction force.
Competitive landscape
• The major competitors will be manual glass cleaning firms. Other
competitors include robots that require months of installation
time and are restricted to the particular building.
• We will be preferred over someone else as our services guarantee
no human casualty on site.
• Our unique robotics solution is fast, dependable, effective and
can work even during night hours.
Funding objective
• We are following lean start-up methodology, currently we
do not expect to need any seed funding.
• The following model is applicable after 2 years when we are
completely ready with the product.
Total Cost :
CAPEX 1,00,00,000
OPEX 1,08,00,000
MARKETING 20,00,000
Misc. Cost (Patents, etc.) 50,00,000
Total cost for II year 2,78,00,000
Revenue Model :
No. of Potential Customer in a
city like Delhi
2800
%of market acquired 5%
No. of customer 140
Expected Revenue from One
customer per annum (include
3 cleaning cycles)
15000 X 3 = 45000
Total Revenue from one city 63,00,000
Total Revenue from 6 cities 3,78,00,000
Profit 1,00,00,000
Needs gaps
Following are the points we need assistance
on:
1) To expand in different countries.
2) Better marketing strategies to suit our idea.

Background image: Offices in high rise buildings.
  • 9. Market Opportunity • With systems cleaning at 3500 sq. ft. per hour, the revenue per hour is as high as Rs. 10,000 per hour. • However, number of customers will limit the annual income. • As per Wikipedia there are almost 2800 high rises in Delhi NCR area itself. • After 24 months we shall be in a position to control all the glass cleaning in India. Later we can expand to other countries. Background image: Manual Glass cleaning
  • 10. Market Opportunity • Annual revenue for a city like Delhi NCR is estimated to be 50 lakh per annum for as little as 125 customers only. • Considering India as a market, revenue is estimated to be over 3 crores within first few years. • Beyond Indian market the revenue starts to grow exponentially as more developed countries like Singapore and USA are targeted. • 11. Business Model • Target sector: Service sector. • We will use the robot for providing glass cleaning services. • The charges will vary from Rs 1.5/ sq ft to Rs 7/sq ft depending upon various factors like dust amount, mineral deposits, window spacing etc. • We will provide cleaning services at non-working hours including night hours.
  • 12. Implementation Plan We are currently on the prototyping stage. Once the prototype is made, it will be patented. Patenting process for a key component has already begun. Once the prototype is tested and verified, we will be starting our services with Hyderabad and later expand to other major cities of the country. We will be offering free cleaning services for the first time in order to get customer attraction.
  • 13. Goals • In the next 3 – 6 months: We plan to complete the existing model and make it autonomous. we will be filing IPR in India and in US. We will also be doing beta testing during this phase. • In the next 12 – 18 months After the sufficient testing, we will be launching our venture throughout the major cities in India. At this stage we will become profitable. • In the next 5 years We will be expanding to other major nations like US, China, Dubai etc.
  • 14. Current Achievements  We developed our first POC in September 2015, this model was duly tested and verified.  We have developed unique mechanisms for sticking to glass.  We have tested the algorithms for cleaning and interfaced all the sensors required in the robot.  We have filled a provisional Patent for our non-destructive sticking mechanism.  We developed this new model and were successful in creating the required suction force.
  • 15. Competitive landscape • The major competitors will be manual glass cleaning firms. Other competitors include robots that require months of installation time and are restricted to the particular building. • We will be preferred over someone else as our services guarantee no human casualty on site. • Our unique robotics solution is fast, dependable, effective and can work even during night hours.
  • 16. Funding objective • We are following lean start-up methodology, currently we do not expect to need any seed funding. • The following model is applicable after 2 years when we are completely ready with the product.
