Assignment 28: Summary of ideas in group

- 2. The artist profile: LUNA Luna is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter, known in her music to explore tragic romance, glamour and melancholy themes. Her music is noted for its cinematic sound with references to contemporary pop-culture and 1950s-70s Americana. Her first album "honeymoon" was released in 2020 and immediately kick-started her career at the age of 17. The song "The Other Woman" was the first single released on her most recent album "Ultraviolence" (2023) and has already hit the top 10 in charts and touched a lot of people's hearts.
- 3. The Music Video The story behind ‘The Other Woman’ is the tragedy of a wife being cheated on, but also the perspective of the other woman and her spiral. The video starts from the wife's perspective and her struggle to understand why she herself is not enough for her husband. And as the song progresses tells the story from the other womans perspective and how much she envy's and wants to be the wife. In the end neither of the woman are happy.
- 4. Cast: Tevy Maynard as the Husband Iris Banner as the wife. Jasmine Angel as The other Woman (LUNA).
- 5. Props/Costumes The costumes within the video are quite old-fashioned/timely outfits- E.g. simple suit, dresses, floral and retro-coloured clothes. This is to add to the aesthetic of the video and match with the theme of the song. In terms of props, there wasn’t much used for on screen other than the flowers, perfume and picnic items, which conveyed the meaning of romantic gifts/gestures. Off camera props were a film camera, phone camera, a feedback set-up on a laptop and a tripod used to film. Inspiration for items:

Logo ideas: • The font of this logo is a bold, whimsical, quite magical feeling typography. • Its quite a retro font to reflect the genre and themes of the artists music and video aesthetics, • The typography is swirly, which conveys emotion and a visual tone/mood. • The font is recognisable and establishes a brand identity. • I also liked the idea of playing around with images of my artist in the back, and recreating a similar vibe to this one. Maybe could be helpful to incorporate this on a poster or song/album cover.
