INTRODUCTION
What is organizational culture???
It is a set of shared values, the unwritten
rules which are often taken for granted,
that guide the employees towards
acceptable and rewarding behavior.
What Is Meant By Artifacts?
These are visible components of culture, they are easy
to formulate, have some physical shape, yet it is varied
from one individual to another.

ROLE
NAVY IS THE MOST VITAL DEFENCE FORCE OF AN
ISLAND NATION. THE MARITIME L ROLE IS TO
CONDUCT OPERATIONS AT SEA FOR THE DEFENSE
OF THE NATION AND ITS INTERESTS.
MISSION
To conduct prompt and sustainable combat operations at sea in accordance
with the national policies.

• To promote and motivate the people who were willinly to join SL

FIRST ATTACK CRAFT (FAC)SQUADRON PIN
• Awarded temporary and permanent basis.
• This should be worn in the Centre of left pocket and 0.25
inches above the color bar.
The SURFACE WARFARE BADGE
• This is awarded naval personnel who have served at least 04 years onboard
ships/crafts.
• This should be worn in the Centre of left pocket and 0.25 inches above the
color bar.
THE ARTIFICER BADGE
• This is issued to all artificer branch sailors who got advanced up to artificer
iv rate or get enlisted artificer iv and above rates. This should be worn in
the Centre of left pocket and 0.25 inches below the top level
THE COMMENDATION BADGE
• It is issued to naval personnel who have awarded Letters of
commendation from the Commander of the Navy.
• This should be worn in the Centre of left pocket and 0.25
inches below the top of the pocket.
THE DIVING BADGE
• All officers/sailors who are qualified as divers are eligible to
wear the diving badge. Further all naval personnel who are
attached to diving branch are eligible to wear the diving badge.
• This should be worn in the Centre of right pocket and 0.25
inches above the top level of the name tally.
BOMB DISPOSAL BADGE
• Any personnel who completed at least three month bomb
disposal course could wear this badge.
• Should be worn in the Centre of right pocket and 0.25 inches
above the top level of the name tally.
MEDALS
Ceylon Armed Services Inauguration Medal - 1956
Awarded to members of the Ceylon Navy who served during specified periods
in the 1950-1951 period. Established in July 1955.

Prashansaniya Seva Vibhushanaya
• To commissioned officers
• Is made for long, meritorious, loyal and valuable service with
unblemished conduct in the sri lanka volunteer naval force
• Governed by the proclamation dated 31st January 2000.
North Humanitarian Operation Clasp
• The clasp shall be awarded to
* The Minister of Defense, the Deputy Minister of
Defense, the Secretary Defense, Service Commanders
and Inspector General of Police by virtue of their
appointments
Ceylon Armed Services Long Service Medal (1968)
• It is ordained that medal shall be granted to all ranks
of the Regular Forces of the Armed Services, in the
Dominion of Ceylon, who complete 12 years of
service as defined in the regulations of the respective
warrants.
Purna Bhumi Padakkama
• The Purna Bhumi Padakkama is awarded to personnel who
have served at least 180 days in one of the following districts.
* Jaffna since 22nd of July 1977
* Vavuniya, Killinochchi, Mullativu, Mannar, Batticaloa,
Trincomalee and Ampara since 16th of September 1983
Vadamarachchi Operation Medal
• It is ordained that the medal shall be granted to
• * All personnel of the Security Forces who were actively
involved in the military operations in the Vadamarachchi area.
• * All those logistic and administrative personnel who were
involved in operating the troops in the forward areas during
the Vadamarachchi operations, whether they were stationed in
Vadamarachchi or elsewhere.

Navy day is the most important day and it is celebrated in 13th
November.
The National Independent Day
• The national independent day is the other most important day
that celebrated.

Training programmes
• Localy and foreign training programmes for navy officers
and sailors are conducted.
• All the training proggrames are conducted in accordance
with the pre-written regulations. when,where,syllubus, time
period and all the requirements are done according to that.
• After the initial training, the passing out ceremony is
held.they are commissioned at the passing out ceremony
• Also after finishing the diffetent courses and training
programmes, a ceremony is held for them.
• Greeting every one meets is culture of officers.
