‘a ‘ , ‘ an’ ‘the ‘
 Articles are two types
Articles
Indefinite ( ‘a’ ‘an’) Definite ( ;the’)
 An Indefinite Articles modifies any common
noun in its singular form
 ‘a’ is used before words that begins with
consonant sound (A consonant is a letter of the alphabet that
represents a basic speech sound produced by obstructing the breath in the vocal
tract)
EX ....... a parrot, a young boy, a chair , a flower
etc.
 ‘an’ is used before words that begins with
Vowel sounds (a,e,i,o,u)
Ex:...... An apple , an egg, an Ice cream etc
 A definite articles is used when we want to
refer to a particular person or object
 EX....a. The stars are twinkling in the sky
We use ‘the’ with
 singular noun and plural noun
EX.... The exercise you did today was difficult
