2. ED SHEERAN ARTICLE
The article I shall be analysing
shall be this article about the
famous successful artist Ed
Sheeran, published in the
magazine Q.
3. HEADLINE “PULL QUOTE”
This headline which also seems to be a pull quote is large and says “I’M
BRINGING GINGER BACK” which plays on the fact that Ed Sheeran is known for
being a red head. Also having the lexis ginger highlighted allows to emphasise
on that word. Having this on the separate page with the main image and
practically being the only text is very effective as it helps balance the
magazine and just generally looks and fits in with the layout and house theme
of the Q magazine. Furthermore the red and black follows the colours of the
magazine and therefore the forms and conventions.
4. TEXT
The actual article text contains very small text so you
can fit a lot of detail and information into a small place.
Furthermore the text has a very formal clean font that
fits into the theme of the Q’s magazine. Also the text
has been placed on a white rectangle box to make the
small text even though small still clear on the page.
Moreover the start of the text looks like the Q logo
which fits into the house theme.
5. TITLE
The title of the page is called “THE HOT LIST”. This is put in a larger font at the
top of the page to make it evident what the page actually is. Furthermore the
use of putting the word “HOT” in red which emphasis's the heat within the
word. Also having the clean white line underlining and creating a header
gives the article a nice neat layout which spreads the page very well.
6. MAIN IMAGE
The main image consists of Ed Sheeran leaning
against a wall in the famous city of London. He has
his acoustic guitar next to him, which is angled into
the way Ed is looking. He is looking into the distance
which may imply he is looking into the future or the
rest of the world for his music to take over.
7. FOOTER
In the footer you have many important features including date which was
“September 2011”. It also has many important other things such as page
numbers to let the reader know what page they are on. It also has the logo to
continue the house style and let them know what magazine it is.
