The document is a diary from The Art Fund for the year 2010. It provides brief descriptions of artworks and notes important dates. The Art Fund is an independent charity in the UK dedicated to saving art for public enjoyment. It depends on memberships to acquire art and provide access to collections. The diary highlights some of the works it has helped save and promotes membership to further support its mission.

3. The Art Fund is an independent charity committed
to saving art for everyone to enjoy.
Thanks to our 80,000 members we’ve saved more
than 860,000 works of art for museums and galleries
since 1903, including masterpieces such as Raphael’s
Madonna of the Pinks, Canova’s Three Graces and
Picasso’s Weeping Woman.
We campaign for public access to art, and in 2001 we
led the successful campaign to reinstate free entry to
national museums and galleries. We also promote the
enjoyment of art through our membership scheme.
In recent years we’ve given some of the largest
grants in our history, such as £2.25 million towards
the purchase of Dumfries House and £1 million
towards Titian’s Diana and Actaeon for the National
Gallery in London and the National Gallery of
Scotland. The Art Fund has also supported the
growth of modern and contemporary art in museum
collections by supporting the acquisition (by Tate
and the National Gallery of Scotland) of ARTIST
ROOMS, Anthony D’Offay’s collection of modern
and contemporary art and the Gormley sculpture
Filter for Manchester Art Gallery.
The Art Fund receives no funding from the
government or Lottery, so we depend on art-lovers
like you to enrich the UK’s art collections for future
generations to enjoy.
