The industrialization of cities, such as Berlin, greatly increased the price of living
for the working class. Because of this, children who were a cheap source of labor,
were often times expected to work daily for meager earnings. This process is
exhibited in the engraving titled Orphan Girls and Boys in a Welfare Institution.
The images are set in Germany in 1846 and display orphaned girls working in a
sewing factory and boys working in a textile factory. This depiction of boys and
girls speaks volumes about gender roles when it comes to social standing and job
opportunities. In addition, these images show a very idealized version of child
labor and industrialization and argue that children should be a source of cheap labor
to reduce the cost of production and be separated based on sex. Many other sources

the donation jar, counting the measly offerings, and hoping they added up to at least
five dollars. Ravalli County should do more to encourage adoption of impounded
animals, and supply more resources for, the Bitterroot Humane Association. The
BItterroot Humane Association is our local pound that takes in lost, abandoned,
abused, or unwanted companions. They provide pet owners with an outlet should
they ever not be able to take care of their animals. Then, these pets are placed back
into loving homes, making everyone happy. With a limited budget, they have to care
for many, many animals. The Bitterroot Humane Association does not give animals a
time limit for being put down. Some shelters in Missoula, for example, euthanize
their residents if they do not find homes soon enough. Many animals at the kill
shelters are very loving and sweet, and deserve a little more time to adjust. At no kill
shelters, such as the Bitterroot Humane Association, they are not put down. Several
of the dogs and cats have been there for a long time, which is definitely hard on them.

My assessment took place on two separate occasions in the community setting. The
first patient R.J. is a 76 year old male diagnosed with hypertension, diabetes type II,
and hyperlipidemia. The SPICES assessment reviled that R.J. needed further
assessment of his sleeping patterns and arthralgia. The second patient M.T. is an 80
year old male diagnosed with diabetes type II and dyslipidemia. M.T. needed a
further assessment of his sleeping patterns and he also uses a cane to ambulate
when he leaves the house. R.J. indicated that he has issues sleeping through the
night; to assess his quality of sleep and his sleep pattern I used the Pittsburgh Sleep
Quality Index (PSQI). This tool measured R.J. s sleep habits over the past month.
His total global PSQI score was 5 indicating that he is a poor sleeper. During the
assessment R.J. stated that it takes him fifteen to twenty minutes to fall asleep and
on some days he wakes up about twice to urinate. R.J. also mentioned that he takes

Benito Cereno is a short story written by Herman Melville in 1855. This story is
about a black crew s desire for freedom. It was published around the same time the
United States was reading itself for The Civil War. This short story is just one of

Methodist Church states that the social structures of society have been built in such
