Argentina Located In South America (Welcome, 1) Population 40.482 Million People (Central, 1) Federation of 23 provinces Largest country in South America (land) 8 th  largest country in the world Runs between the Andes Mountain range (west) and Atlantic Ocean (east & south) The official name is Argentine Republic (United, 1)
Government Each province has their own elected governor, legislature, and its own judicial system. (Central, 1) Type: republic (Central, 1) Capital: Buenos Aires (Central,1) Constitution was made on May 1 st , 1853; amended many times, starting in 1860.  (Central, 1) Legal system: mixture of US and west European legal system, was not accepted compulsory ICJ jurisdiction. (Central, 1)

Environmental Issues Disappearances of forests, since 1914 nearly two thirds of the forests will be gone by 2024 (Foundation, 1) From 1985, sulfer dioxide in atmosphere has increased 140% (Foundation, 1) Increase in pesticides (Foundation, 1) In 1914 there were 105 million hectares of land, in 2005 there are only 33 million hectares.
