Argentina is located in South America between the Andes Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. It has a population of over 40 million people and its capital and largest city is Buenos Aires. Argentina has serious environmental issues including loss of forests and increases in pollution. Some social issues include high unemployment and malnutrition among the population. The country has a federal republic government system with 23 provinces and Spanish is the official language.

7. Social Issues The Argentine population has one of the lowest growth rates in Latin America (1.05%) (United, 1) Mal-nutrtion problems; a lot of people suffer from this (Hobo, 1) People live off government money for years because of unemployment benefits (Hobo, 1)
