Archangel Lucifers Fall
As humanity passed through the veil of reality the archangel Lucifer began to rebel. The angel Beelzebub whose main fault was his need to collect as
much power as he could joined the archangel's rebellion along with Astaroth forming a trinity of darkness and villainy. In the end their plan came
crashing down around them, and they were thrown out of Heaven. Lucifer along with his minions were thrown into an inescapable void, but their
constantly growing hate caused the kingdom that would be known has Hell to fill the void. The fallen angels' combined power allowed them to speak
with mankind causing humans to drown in a sea of pure evil. After centuries of being imprisoned Beelzebub possessed a mortal man whose body he

The two humans Samuel and Catherine Jacobson were two simple farmers that they knew no one would miss. The men brought Samuel and
Catherine into a nearby forest where they tied the two to large wooden stakes that they hammered into the ground. With that done the men dipped a
crude paintbrush into a bowl filled with blood that they had collected from newborn children. One of the men used the paintbrush to draw a circle
around the two stakes then he drew eight arrows that went from the middle of the circle to the outside of the shape. The man put the paintbrush
back in the clay bowl, and they all turned their gaze to Samuel and Catherine who are both unconscious. Two men pick up two pots filled with water
and throw it on Samuel and Catherine who immediately awaken and let out bloodcurdling screams. Two yellow colored strips of cloth are tied
around their mouths to prevent them from screaming. They watch as one of the men pulls a silver dagger out of his belt and dips it in the bowl of
blood. The man walks over to his captives and uses the dagger to make a cut in Samuel's left hand and Catherine's right

representation of the Annunciation is set in an architectural interior constructed according to a rigorous system of one–point perspective. The panel

Just by looking at the image, there is a lot of empty space that is surrounded in the back ground. In that way, we would not pay attention to the
background but the tension in the scene instead. Basically at first glance, there is a depiction of purity and grace on the beautiful oil master piece.
The two figures of the Archangel and Virgin Mary are close together and it shows a scene of almost touching fingers while they try to reach for one
another but seems like they would never join hands. The male figure of the archangel would carry a long feather like pen and it would bow down to
the Virgin marry and tries to respectable speak to her. On the other hand, the Virgin Mary seems to be in authority because she is standing up and
looking down at the Archangel. This creates tension in the painting while we question the social distinction between the two. Looking closely at the
Virgin Mary, her eyes would be close. It is almost like she is resisting the contact from the Archangel and tried to stay away from him. Looking on the
left, the Archangel have white wings and there is green–yellowish light that surrounds him and the red clothing on him show that he is there for good
news. But the resistance from the Virgin Mary seem like she is unaware of what is happening and is unable to accept the annunciation from the angel.
The Annunciation was presented in a jewel–like style would be

Comparing The Archangel Gabriel And The Virgin Of The...
After Ancient art period, the Medieval art period started from the fall of Roman Empire in 400 A.D. to 1400 A.D. During the New Roman period,
artworks about God, Saints and Angels as well as biblical scenes became more and more popular. Different from the realistic style of the Ancient
Greek and Roman art, biblical scenes arts were created with iconic art style and more abstract and simplified, but the content was clear and easy to
understand. Medieval artists created arts in order to decorating churches. The Archangel Gabriel (1388) and The Virgin of the Annunciation (1388),
by Bartolo di Fredi, were two of the most famous biblical scene arts during the Medieval art period. Bartolo di Fredi was born in Siena which was one

Both of the artworks, by Bartolo di Fredi, have a similar style with similar details. Both of angle Gabriel and Virgin Mary were painted inside the
wooden frame with the shape of the interior of a church. The common dome structure, which was a popular structure for church during the Medieval
art period, were carefully shaped and decorated with great amount of details to create the illusion that both Virgin Mary and Saint Gabriel were
standing inside a church. The content of these two artworks are very clear. By using the frames with the shapes of a church as well as the decoration
of the interior inside a church, audiences can clearly understand that these artworks were biblical arts and they were created as decorations for
churches. With both iconic style for Saint Gabriel and Virgin Mary, audiences can clearly see that these two artworks were created to depict the holy
moment when an angel was sent to Virgin Mary with the announcement the Virgin's destiny as the mother of

Ledan Research Paper
Ledan (currently going by the alias of Ledan "Leda" Hale) is an archangel/human hybrid, sometimes known as an "Archnephilim" (a phrase coined
by Dean) and a witch, known or at least believed to be one of the only ones of his kind, maybe even the olnly one. He uses his witchcraft to perform
spells on demand, occasionally for money but usually he'll do it for an nondescript favour (which you'll be bound to) that can be called in at any
time. He was born in 339BC, in early Iron Age Sweden, and grew up believing, in his early years, he was an average human. However, he is the son of
the archangel Jophiel (who died when he was two) and a powerful witch called ThyrvГЇ; making him very much not. He believed this because his

his mix of Archangel and Human he is probably at least near omnipotent (at least as near to it as an Archangel is), but is still (even after 2,353

power at a time; causing him to become weak after prologued use of the powers he has through his father's (his archangel) side. This has seemingly
not affected his spells, however, and so he's still been able to continue his day–to–day

Book Of Gabriel Research Paper
Gabriel
Gabriel is an angel who serves as a messenger for God to certain people. He is one of the three archangels. Gabriel is mentioned in both the Old and
the New Testaments of the Bible. First, in the Old Testament, Gabriel appears to the prophet Daniel to explain his visions. Gabriel is described as,
"one who looked like man," as he interprets Daniel's visions. He speaks to Daniel while he is sleeping. After Gabriel's first visit, Daniel becomes tired
and sick for days. Gabriel later visits Daniel again providing him with more insight and understanding in an answered prayer.
In the New Testament, Gabriel, described as "an angel of the Lord," first appears to Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist. He tells him, "Fear not,

The Book of Luke states he was sent from God to Nazareth to visit the virgin married to a man named Joseph. Gabriel said to Mary, "Hail, thou that
art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women." "Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God." Gabriel told Mary
she would conceive from The Holy Spirit and the baby will be the Son of God.
After the Annunciation of Mary, Gabriel is not spoken of again.
Gabriel's attributes are the Archangel, he is clothed in blue or white, and is seen carrying a lily, a trumpet, a shining lantern, a branch from Paradise, a
scroll or a scepter. In art, Gabriel is most commonly represented in the scene of the Annunciation. In art, Gabriel is often represented in the scene of the
Annunciation.
He is occasionally cited as the one who blows God's trumpet to indicate the Lord's return to Earth. However, the person designated with this task
varies; different passages cite different people. The earliest known identification of Gabriel as the trumpet holder comes in 1455 represented in
Byzantine art.
Gabriel is recognized as the patron saint of messengers, telecommunication workers, and postal workers. His feast day is celebrated on September 29,

Judaism Essay: Angels Roles Within Judaism
Angels Roles within Judaism
The role angels have within Judaism is as messengers of God. In the book of Torah, Daniel 7:10 states, ("A river of fire was flowing and emerging
from before Him; a thousand thousands served Him, and ten thousand ten thousands arose before Him. Justice was established, and the books were
opened") angels are referred to as being in the thousands. Angels are broken down into an order of hierarchy, ranked from highest to lowest. Angel
are referred to as spiritual beings not having any physical form. They are described only by their spiritual abilities and tasks. In the early book of
Torah angels would not disclose their names, however after the Jewish people returned to Israel the names became common in the Kabbala. The angels
were placed into ten group which were named Chayot Ha Kodesh, Ophanim, Erelim, Hashmallim, Seraphim, Malakhim, Elohim, ... Show more content

Kabbalah states that Chamuel leads this group. They are talked about in the Torah in Isaiah 6:2–3 which states ("Seraphim stood above for Him, six
wings, six wings to each one; with two he would cover his face, and with two he would cover his feet, and with two he would fly. And one called to
the other and said, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory."). Next are the Malakhim who are known for their
beauty and mercy, and the Kabbalah states that they are led by the archangel Raphael.
Fifth, are the Elohim which are known for their commitment to the victory of good and evil. The archangel Haniel leads this group of angels. The
next group of angels are the Bene Elohim who are known for giving God all the glory. Michael is the archangel who leads this group and he known as
a warrior and being the great prince. In the Torah in Daniel 10:21 which states ("Indeed, I shall tell you what is inscribed in a true script, but no one

How Are Michael And Lucifer Alike
The ultimate symbols for good and evil aren't all that different. God's most trusted warrior and the devil himself have more in common than one may
think. Michael and Lucifer are similar in their love for their father, their celestial abilities, and the common wish to avoid the prophesied fight between
them. Michael, the big brother, loyal to an absent father, and Lucifer, the little brother, rebellious ofGod's plan may have a few conflicting beliefs on
how things should work, but that doesn't mean there are no similarities between the two. For example, the two archangels have loved their father,
God, since the day they were created. Well, one more than the other. To clarify, Lucifer was God's favorite until He created the humans. The younger
archangel rejected his father's command to bow down to his new creations and love them more than they loved God. "Father, I can't," Lucifer would
say, "these human beings are flawed and murderous. How can you ever expect me to love them more than you?" And for that God had Michael cast
him to hell, all because he refused to love humans more than his father. Does the punishment fit the crime? Michael didn't think so, but he loved God so

with a thought, and obliterate anyone or anything with just a snap of his fingers, but just as all angels, he needed a vessel before he could do any
of that. He would need one special human to say yes to him, so he could take over their body and start the apocalypse. Just like his brother, Michael
had all the same abilities, but he used the more helpful ones for diviner purposes. He could heal any wound, cure any sickness, and teleport anywhere

as the fallen angels that magicians call forth in ceremonial magic. He mentions that the Watchers were so named because they were stars, the 'eyes of

St Michael Research Paper
The Holy Archangel Michael is one of the most celebrated of the Angels and bodiless powers. According to Holy Scripture and tradition, he has
interceded for humanity multiple times and continues to serve as the Defender of the Faith. St Michael is most often invoked for protection from
invasion by enemies and from civil war, and for the defeat of adversaries on the field of battle.
The name Michael means "like unto God" or "Who is like unto God?"
The Lord appointed the Holy Archangel Michael, the faithful servitor of God, as Chief Commander. He cast down from Heaven the arrogantly proud
Lucifer and the other fallen spirits when they rebelled against God. Michael summoned the ranks of angels and cried out, "Let us attend! Let us stand

Through him the power of the Lord was made manifest, annihilating the Egyptians and Pharaoh who were in pursuit of the Israelites. The Archangel
Michael defended Israel in all its misfortunes.
He appeared to Joshua, Son of Navi, and revealed the will of the Lord at the taking of Jericho (Josh 5:13–16). The power of the great Chief
Commander of God was manifest in the annihilation of the 185 thousand soldiers of the Assyrian emperor Sennacherib (4/2 Kings 19:35); also in the
smiting of the impious leader Heliodorus (2 Macc. 3: 24–26); and in the protection of the Three Holy Youths: Ananias, Azarias and Misail, thrown into
the fiery furnace for their refusal to worship an idol (Dan 3:22–25).
Through the will of God, the Chief Commander Michael transported the Prophet Habbakuk , from Judea to Babylon, to give food to Daniel in the

The Archangel Michael disputed with the devil over the body of the holy Prophet Moses (Jude 1:9).

Guardian Angel Movie Analysis
Gabriel "Gabby" Messinger, a Guardian Angel who has trouble following the rules and is known for meddling in the love live's of others, is tasked by
the Angel Michael to help the town of Angel Falls find its Christmas spirit again.
First of all, I want to say that this film surpassed all my expectations. Sometimes, I am hesitant when it comes to "angel films," but because of who
the three stars are (and especially because of the male lead), I was determined to give this film a chance. Furthermore, it is airing on Hallmark, and
how could I not watch it? If you are looking for a film that follows the Scriptural teachings of angels, this might not be for you. I could speak to all the
reasons why the theology of the movie is unsound, but that is not why I watched this film. The film is so uncommonly well–written and acted with
such depth that I could care less about whether the story could ever happen or not. The values of the film are intact, and if nothing else, I applaud
Hallmark for emphasizing the concept of "free will" (something most Christians and church people esteem) and including the Lord's Prayer (how often
do we see that on network TV?). I did not plan on becoming emotional during this movie, but I literally spent the last twenty minutes or so crying off
and on because the story was remarkably poignant (and I wasn't certain how it would end) and the three main actors––Rachel Boston, Paul Greene, and
Beau Bridges––are such phenomenal artists!

because he is one of the seven archangels and a part of the group of three archangels talked about in the Bible.

Biblical Allusion During The Romantic Age
Biblical allusion during the Romantic Age was not uncommon. Because Biblical images and references were in the minds of most Romantic readers, a
poet would often use this strategy to contextualize an assertion being made. Wordsworth is no different. However, the level to which he uses this
technique within his poetry fluctuates. The Ruined Cottage only contains two obvious examples, while Michael is rich with Biblical imagery and
allusion. Because of this difference, the Biblical allusion within the two poems will be discussed within three categories–those which are concerned
with a connection to nature, those which inspire the hope of salvation, and those which deal with the creation and deterioration of covenants. Delving

She is presented as greedy and neglectful of the inherent spirituality in things, and possibly had false intentions behind sending Luke away. It seems
this is a warning from Wordsworth. It is also valuable to note that Michael's troubles begin when his nephew defaults on a loan. However, the poem
never labels him as nephew but instead, "his brother's son" (211). If Michael's name is meant to conjure the name of the archangel Michael, it can't be
ignored that one of the brothers of that archangel is Satan. Viewing the name this way creates a parallel which makes Michael's nephew a quasi–son of
evil. Because of the nephew's "industrious life" (212), he is disconnected from the land and therefore amoral. With these instances of naming,
Wordsworth seems to be commenting on how morality is connected to living life by means of nature rather than by means of material or industry.
Turning now to allusions that inspire hope, we look towards Robert's Sunday clothes in The Ruined Cottage. "Still in its place. His Sunday garments
hung / Upon the self–same nail, his very staff / Stood undisturbed behind the door" (432–34). The garments that are hung up, are not just regular
clothes, but his Sunday garments. This small detail gives the image it's religious tone. Continuing, the word staff certainly alludes to the staff of Moses
in the bible, who is known for

Angels Essay
Angels
An angel is a pure spirit created by God. The Old Testament theology included the belief in angels: the name applied to certain spiritual beings or
intelligences of heavenly residence, employed by God as the ministers of His will.
HISTORY
Are Angels ambassadors sent from God to guide us, protect us or bring messages from heaven? The word angel comes from the Greek word "angelos"
which means messenger. The Bible says that God has appointed many angels to those who love God and call to Him, "Psalms 91:11 For He shall give
His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways." The bible refers to different types of angels, with varying duties such as ugides, protectors,

Dionysius, a 5th or 6th century writer gives us the hierarchical order of the angels. The first group is the seraphim, cherubim and thrones. The word
seraphim (singular is saraph) is taken from the fiery imagery often associated with the Presence of God–– Ezek. 1:27. Cherubim are represented as

Is Art Pointless? : Art Meaningless?
Ivan Preciado HU130– Visual Language & Culture Prof. Stephen Van Dyck December 13, 2017 Fall 2016 Is Art Pointless? That are two kinds of
people that exist when perceiving art; ones that view art and wonder what it is that the piece is trying to say and are then moved by the piece once
they see what idea the piece is portraying, and the other kinds of people are ones that see art as asinine and simply walk past it without taking a
second glance at it. After viewing a painting of Jesus, Dorothy Allison wrote that she,"took the notion that art should surprise and astonish, and
hopefully make you think something you had not thought until you saw it." Dorothy Allison is a person that views art and wonders what it is that
the piece is trying to say and is then moved by the piece because of the message it is portraying. This is exactly what art should do and should be
perceived with great attention. The reason for art is to tell a story. In cavemen days, it began as a method for storytelling, using visuals that cavemen
would draw such as pictures of them hunting, fishing, and etc. Art is something that should be astonishing and surprising, and bring forth
enlightenment about a certain subject or influence the way you view that subject matter after viewing a piece of art. Art without meaning is like a

Bicci Di Lorenzo's The Annunciation: Early Renaissance
"The Annunciation"
Religion has typically been used in history as the narrative for many pieces of artwork. The Early Renaissance was renowned for the religious themes
the artists would use in their work. This period is also recognized for its focus on humanism, which refers to the cultural and educational reformation.
Humanism draws many of its themes and styles from the ancient Greeks and Romans. The Renaissance spread throughout Europe and continued to
focus on the rediscovery of these predecessors. One of these paintings is Bicci di Lorenzo's, "The Annunciation," which was painted during the Early
Italian Renaissance. "The Annunciation" is a Biblical story when the Archangel Gabriel visited Mary and announced to her that she would bear the Son
of God. This painting's formal elements have similar characteristics of the Early Renaissance Italian Paintings and some influences from the Early
Renaissance Flemish paintings and Gothic paintings. This painting is also similar to other artwork such as, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, if we look closely at Bicci di Lorenzo's painting, we can see a white dove in the light rays. In the Bible, the white dove has
traditionally been used as a symbol of the Holy Spirit, which is one part of the Holy Trinity, "The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit." Another
important symbol in Bicci di Lorenzo's "The Annunciation," are the lilies that Gabriel is holding. The lilies symbolize purity and truth. Purity
refers to Mary because she is a virgin and truth refers to the truth of the word of God. Lilies and doves are typically used as symbols when artists
depict this narrative. For example, Robert Campin in the "Merode Altarpiece" places lilies on the table to symbolizing her purity. Another symbol is
the Bible near Mary in Bicci di Lorenzo's painting. Fra Angelico refrains from using symbolism in his painting by not including lilies, doves, and Mary

Ellen Wefler's Ascending Angel
Sara is a special little girl. At only 9 years old, she's mature beyond her years. More than that, she has abilities that even she isn't quite aware of.
These abilities put her in danger. The archangel Gabriel knows she must be protected. He, therefore, assigns her a protector; a young boy named Seth.
However, Seth is more than he appears to be as well.
Ascending Angel is a fantasy written by Ellen Wefler. This book is an interesting twist on the classic theme of good versus evil. It includes dark
angels or dangels as they are nicknamed. It also includes archangels and guardian angels.
Unfortunately, I feel that the way Ms. Wefler addresses this theme and iconic beings may be off–putting to many readers. Thus, this is the first issue
that I feel needs attention. Everyone has their own views on angels, demons, and religion. The author clearly voices her opinions in this story. In the
book, one of the archangels makes it perfectly clear that someone who commits suicide will go to hell. While I know that there are those out there that
hold this opinion, I also know that there are those that this will greatly offend. The archangels also appear to make decisions and act on their own
without consulting the god that is clearly mentioned in the story. I would suggest those that have clear views on these issues or religion in general might
want to avoid reading Ascending Angel.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Questions On Angels
Angels. Many questions revolve around this subject. Who or what are they? How many are there? Do they actually exist? The Bible can and will
answer many of these questions. Humankind always had its own opinion on angels, but unsurprisingly, most of these assumptions are wrong. The Bible
will contradict many of these theories on angels or it will prove them right. It just depends how educated these assumptions are.

A:
Note: In other words angels are ministering spirits created by God. They live with God in Heaven and come down to Earth to hep man.
2. Q: How many angels are there? (Revelation 5:1)

By doing this he will punish or reward us for our works. Good or bad. This s where you get to see who won your war, you or Satan.
12. Q: In the end what happens to Lucifer and his angels? (Matthew 25:41)
A:
Note: Like the rest of the wicked (in the second coming), they will burn. Lucifer shall burn the longest for his treachery against God. He will watch
others burn then his followers, while he burns in the fire watching all his followers fall. Then he will fall, the last, he will burn alone.
13. Who is Michael the Archangel? (Jude 1:9, 1 Thessalonians 4:16, Revelation 20:5, Revelation 22:8, 9, Daniel 12:1, Joshua 5:13–15, Exodus 3:5,
Acts 7:33)

Note: Michael the Archangel is also the captain of the Lord's army. He let Joshua sit there and worship him, but in other verses it says that angels don't
accept worship. In other verses Jesus has accepted worship. This captain also said to take off your sandals for your standing on holy ground. God has
said this quotation two times. Michael is also the only one called an archangel in the Bible, he is also the commander of an army who accepts worship
unlike other angels. This somewhat proves he could be

Book Of Gabriel Research Paper
Gabriel
Gabriel is one of the three angels mentioned by name in the bible. Even though Jewish tradition identifies Gabriel as one of seven archangels, the
Bible does not actually state that Gabriel is an archangel. Yet Gabriel clearly has a high position among the angels since his name is mentioned inGod's
Word along with Lucifer and Michael. The angel Gabriel is mentioned in Daniel 8:16–26 and 9:20–27. Gabriel, "one who looked like a man," interprets
Daniel's visions, and Daniel "was terrified and fell prostrate". Gabriel speaks to Daniel while he is in a deep sleep, and Daniel is tired and sick for days
after being with Gabriel . In Chapter 9, verse 20–21, Gabriel again appears to Daniel as he was praying, giving him insight and understanding ... Show

In Muslim lore, he is the angel of nature who provides both food and knowledge to man. Archangel Michael is identified with the angel who
wrestled with Jacob, destroyed the armies of Sennacherib and saved the three Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace in Jewish mystical tradition.
Archangel Michael also appears in the Bible as the angel who appeared to Joshua as he prepared to lead the Israelites in battle at Jericho. John the
apostle speaks of Archangel Michael in the Book of Revelation, where he recounts that it was Michael who cast the devil and his angels out of heaven
into the earth. The Book of Revelation (12:7–9) describes a war in heaven in which Michael, being stronger, defeats Satan. After the conflict, Satan is
thrown to earth along with the fallen angels, where he still tries to lead the whole world astray. In the Epistle of Jude 1:9, Michael is referred to as an
archangel when he again confronts Satan. A reference to an archangel also appears in the First Epistle to the Thessalonians 4:16. This archangel who
heralds the second coming of Christ is not named, but is often associated with

The Angels Pariah Versus The Prince Of Angels
On that fateful night the battle to end all battles started. The angels pariah versus the prince of angels. The battle to shake the world. The battle
fought for the humans. But this is not were the story starts, not really anyways. My name is Nadie Luccius and I am the one and only angel to tear
off his wings and plunge down to Earth all for the sake of being human. This is the story of the war between humans and angels and it started one year
ago.
The angel Nadie walked on the path of heaven being blamed for the misfortune in the battle against demons, after all every place needs a pariah to
take the blame, even heaven. The angel looked down at Earth and looked at the humans marveling at their complexity, their weakness, and their
strength. Nadie couldn 't help but to marvel at them. Most angels saw the humans as weak hairless apes, but Nadie loved them. Most of all he wanted
to be one.
The angels liked to refer to Nadie as the next Lucifer, but he was the exact opposite. Lucifer was cast down to hell because he could not love humans
more than God, and therefor defied his father. On the other hand Nadie loved and adored the humans.
An angel called out to Nadie
"Hey Nadie Michael wants to speak with you." The angel said.
"What does he want Leviaten?" Nadie questioned.
"Your guess is as good as mine Nadie but he seemed pissed of so, you better hurry your ass up." The now named angel, Leviaten answered.
"Don 't tell me what to do; I still out rank you." Nadie said.

History of Biblical Angels
History of Biblical Angels Throughout history, you will find many religions discuss angels. But what is an angel? Is it a mythical creature with
wings sent to protect you? Some may think so; others have different thoughts on the matter. But when did talk of angels first occur? Have they
always been around? In this paper, I will attempt to define what an angel is and what they do. I will also discuss how angels differ between
religions, as well as try to pinpoint the origin of angels. I will explain the similarities and differences between these religions and their ideas of
angels. The term angel is derived from the Greek word angelos , meaning "messenger." This word represents an earlier Hebrew word, mal'akh that
is also interpreted as the role of messenger or minister. It is safe to say that many people will regard angels as messengers between Heaven and earth.
In many biblical stories, angels are sending messages. Some messages are announcements of birth like the ones that were sent to Abraham and to
Samson's father. Other messages encourage actions as the ones did to Elijah and David. In these cases, angels were bringing messages from the divine
world, or Heaven, to men and women in the earthly human world. It is believed that the messages with angels also work in the reversed sense as well;
meaning from human being to angel to God. It is said that 'the soul speaks to the angel, the angel to the cherub, the cherub to God.' This type of
communication would explain the

A pastoral staff with crook head shape on the top was starting to emerge. This kind of pastoral staff was called a crozier. This luxurious material
made type of pastoral staff was used until nowadays. Most of this kind of pastoral staff often carved with biblical character and always show two
opposing force when they were fighting to each other.
Saint Michael battling the demon serpent was the most popular decoration to be carved on the crozier because it was the perfect representation of
good and evil. It may be true that "In art, he is most frequently shown with a sword, either battling with or standing in triumph over a dragon or the
prostrate Satan" (Jones 178). Saint Michael is one of three archangels (the other two are Gabriel and Raphael) that was mentioned in the Holy Bible.
He was known as the general of heaven, protector of chosen people in earth. In early Catholic church, people considered him as the defender of
Christianity. He was also charged with the guidance of souls here below, to protect them from devil's snares and to lead them to the eternal light
(Englebert, 369).
Saint Michael is a famous character among all Christian figures. He often gave vision to people and give solution to every problem. An appearance of
him once occurred among the monks in French, who built a monastery under his name, Mont–Saint–Michael. He also appeared in the cave of mount

The Annunciation (Cleveland Museum Of Art, Cleveland
Formal Analysis of The Annuciation
The painting The Annunciation (Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland) was made in Netherlands, or possibly France, in the 1380s, using tempera and
oil with gold on wood panel. A vertical composition of about 31.43 Г— 40.32 cm, the sacred iconography depicts the biblical scene of the Archangel
Gabriel, sent by God, announcing to the Virgin that she would soon give birth to Christ. The artist, who was commissioned to draw this piece, is
unknown. The patron probably commissioned the artwork for devotional use. It might be part of a narrative polyptych, conveying the biblical story of
Christ, expressing the divinity of God and Christianity.
In the foreground, the two main figures of the scene, the Virgin and the Archangel, are markedly painted larger than the figures in the background, and
thus, they become the attractive focus of the whole painting. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The excellent employment of chiaroscuro vividly shows the texture of the front of the drapery, depicting it realistically and three–dimensionally. She
has a golden halo with God's messages on it behind her head, showing her divinity. She sits on an elevated throne with a calm look on her face.
However, she holds her hands in front of her breast, eyes gazing at God's message brought by the Archangel, palms facing each other, indicating
surprise and excitement due to the message. The Virgin's serene facial expression contradicts her behavior, perhaps because the message not only tells
her the incarnation of Christ but also foreshadows his doomed death. Therefore, the whole painting can be a polyptych. This piece is the beginning of
the story, and other pieces, such as Crucifixion, may be other parts of the

The Reign Of The Byzantine Empire
Throughout the reign of the Byzantine Empire, sculpting and architecture were the pinnacle of ancient Byzantine art; leaving a vast collection of
masterpieces for later cultures to admire, and even adopt their majestic styles and techniques. A focal period during the lifespan of the Byzantine
Empire was the reign of Justinian the Great (527–565 A.D.), which is also referred to as the Golden Age. It is during this time that architecture and
sculpture begin to flourish, along with other mediums of art such as mosaics, murals, and illuminative manuscripts. Very many religious works of art
were created during this time as well, however very few survived the onset of the iconoclast uproar in 726.
One work of art that managed to remain unharmed by Islamic efforts to destroy religious images is Archangel Michael, an ivory diptych from the early
sixth century. The artist of this sculpture is unknown; however it is presumed that it was created in the court workshop in Constantinople. Artists were
usually servants to the court and created many pieces of art including byzantine crosses, and illuminative manuscripts. The diptych consists of two
carved panels, usually made of wood or ivory, that are hinged together in efforts to create a book–like appearance. With roots stemming back to the
ancient Roman Empire, the diptych was used as a political as well as an informative device. Upon being elected to the post of consul, Roman
politicians would send these carvings to very close

Michael Is The Savior Jesus Christ In Revelation12 : 12-12...
Revelation 12:7–9 is a vision seen by John that speaks about the war that will occur in heaven. The passage says,"Then war broke out in heaven.
Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in
heaven. The great dragon was hurled down―that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the
earth, and his angels with him." The passage begins by stating that there will be a war in heaven, one between Michael and Satan. Michael is God's
archangel whose name means "one like God". This leads to the possibility that Michael is Jesus Christ. Jesus has a nature "like God" and can be
argued that the word "archangel" might mean not "ruling angel" but "the ruler of the angels." Add to the fact that the word archangel is never
used in the plural... "(Becker). These facts are strong evidence that Michael is the savior Jesus Christ. Satan is the dragon that is referred to in the
text. The dragon is not specifically described in this particular passage, but earlier in the chapter there is a glimpse as to what he looked like.
According to Revelation 12:3, "...a great red dragon having seven heads ten horns, and on his head were seven diadems." The dragon is red to
symbolize that it is evil and the horns symbolize its great power. "The deceitful nature of his seven heads is exaggerated by his seven
crowns"(Mueller). These crowns are diadems that

Jehovah's Belief Of Jesus And The Archangel Michael
3.Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Jesus and the archangel Michael are the same person.
JW believe that Jesus had three periods of existence:
1.In his pre–human existence he was called "God's only begotten Son because Jehovah created him directly. As the "first–born of all creation, Jesus was
used by God to create all other things. Jesus also had the personal name of Michael the archangel at this time.
2.The second stage of Jesus' life was here on earth. He willingly submitted as God transferred his life from heaven to the womb of a Jewish virgin
named Mary.
3.He became the Messiah at his baptism, was executed on a torture stake, and rose again spiritually, but not physically.
Christian Response: There is absolutely no biblical basis for identifying Jesus with Michael the archangel. Also, the bible teaches that Jesus was the
Messiah at birth, and coequal with the Father from all eternity:
Philippians 2:5–7 ~ Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard
equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bondservant, and being made in the likeness of men.
1 Colossians 1:15 ~ He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. The Greek word used here for first born is Prototokos, which
means First in Rank, Supreme.
Hebrews 1:4 ~ become so much better than the angels.
So we see that Jesus did not regard His equality with God as something to be "grasped." This word means to be utilized or asserted. Instead of
asserting His equality with the Father, Jesus "emptied Himself" which means he laid aside His privileges as God and took on the form of a man.
4.Jehovah's Witnesses believe the Holy Spirit is a "force" and not a real Person.
JW does not believe in the Trinity, much less the Holy Spirit as part of the God–head. The personality and deity of the Holy Spirit is denied.
John 14:16–17 ~ And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever– the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept
him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
The Holy Spirit dwells inside of us, not just an

The Merode Altarpiece By Robert Campin
Robert Campin was one of the earliest masters of Flemish painting and is also considered to be one of the founders of the realistic style of oil
painting in the Netherlands. His most famous painting is The Merode Altarpiece; it is oil on wood and is believed to have been made from
1427–1432. Campin had help on the Merode Altarpiece from Rogier van de Weyden and Jacques Daret. The Merode Altarpiece is also known as the
Annunciation, which is when the archangel Gabriel came to tell Mary that she would be the mother of Jesus.
What really captured my attention about this painting is the way in which it portrays three different scenes, yet manages to connect them all together.
Campin made each of these scenes very detailed, and each scene has

Speech About The Archangel Ariel
The Archangel Ariel embodies feminine strength and encourages strength through gentle means, only using force when absolutely necessary. She is the
lioness of the angelic realm, and as such, she champions those who cannot fend for themselves and are often victims of the power of others,
particularly women, children, and animals. When Daniel was thrown into the lions' den to be mauled and devoured, for example, her angelic presence
interceded, held the lions at bay, and protected Daniel's life. She helped him to soothe the lions and to lay down with them without fear or danger.

Compare And Contrast Palomino And Michael
Michael Lindke Professor Sarah Flatter Art 120 30 July 2016
A Biblical Comparative
Biblical stories have been told over many centuries and can be found in many different forms. Artists have attempted to capture their versions of what
these stories may have looked like. This essay will chronicle the similarities and differences between two different biblical accounts. The first biblical
account is from Bernardino Jacopi Butinone's The Massacre of The Innocents. A recreation of the Roman King Herod's order to kill all first born son's
in order to kill Jesus before he could rise to power. The second biblical account is from Acislo Antonio Palomino de Castro y Velasco's The Archangel
Michael Defeating Satan. It is the story of Satan's fall to hell by the order of God and the sword of Michael The Archangel. (Good summary and
opening.) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Palomino moved to Madrid in 1678 where he executed some indifferent frescoes. In 1688 he was appointed painter to King Charles II. The artist
visited Valencia in 1697 and remained there for four years, again devoting himself to fresco painting. Palomino painted the biblical depiction of Michael
the Archangel defeating Satan in Spain between 1692–1726. Palomino's painting is an oil canvas on a frame that is 125.7 x 90.5 cm (PALOMINO).
IDENTITY Butinone depicts his vision of the killing of babies in Rome due to the birth of foretold glory of Jesus Christ. The Massacre of the
Innocents shows King Herod in the background watching as Roman soldiers stab and dismember babies in the streets. Mothers are seen grasping to
their babies despite the swinging swords from these soldiers. The mothers look in horror as is explained in the bible. Butinone's depiction of this event
gives the shock value and the feeling of what this event was really like. The actual historical event of The Massacre of the Innocents is from the
Christian bible and reads: "When (the Magi) had gone, an angel

Mistletoe
You were going to kill that archangel.
Gabriel had been in a festive mood since December 1st, and he'd chosen to decorate the bunker when he had been bored one day. Unfortunately for you,
that meant he'd hung up dozens of mistletoe bunches everywhere. There was mistletoe outside your door, in the hallway into the kitchen, and– of
course– in every single doorway.
But that wasn't even the worst part. The worst bit was that Gabriel enchanted them so that if someone accidentally walked under one, they couldn't
move from that spot until someone kissed them. And God forbid someone get stuck under there with another person... Neither of them would escape
unscathed.
Of course, for the first few days there were a lot of the boys accidentally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

"I don't think so," he said callously, "You know what you have to do, and I know that if I leave the two of you to figure out your feelings on your
own– it'll never happen." What the hell was he on about? Your feelings were completely one–sided and Gabriel knew that– so why was he forcing this

Supernatural as describe by Merriam–Webster is of or relating to an order of existence beyond the visible observable universe; of or relating to God or
a god, demigod, spirit, or devil departing from what is usual or normal especially so as to appear to transcend the laws of nature: attributed to an
invisible agent (as a ghost or spirit). As for me, I am talking about Supernatural, a television show on the CW channel that was created by Eric Kripke.
Starting in 2005, Supernatural has had me contemplated and in love with Sam and Dean Winchester. This show is based on religion coming from old
testament to new testament to other gods and religion proffer such as demons, angels, God, Lucifer, Zeus, and many much more gods and mystical

aspect and will give a brief history on the show with their symbols, signs, Archangels, Angels and Demons, and some other fun stuff of the show.
The adventure begins the night Mary was killed by the green–eyed demon leaving John to raise Sam and Dean. John did not understand why the demon

protection. They stand wing tip to wing tip facing outward in a circle around that which they are protecting, and using both their vambraces and swords

of others, people with a strong negative vibration or attitude, dangerous situations, or even the onslaught or existence of evil, for example, we can call

Giovanni is a famous urban landscape artist and is most well–known for is painting The Stonemason's Yard. Giovanni uses linear perspective with a

Archangel Michael Book 12
Previously in Book 11, The Archangel Michael was essentially prophesizing some of the major events that have happened in the past and are
discussed in the Bible. Book 12 begins as a continuation of this foretelling. It discusses the people behaved doing as God wanted for a while after the
"judgment past", but then a man with a "proud and ambitious" heart came along and started to mess things up. After the earth became much corrupted
and the story of Noah and the ark is presented. Following it leads into the story of Pharaoh and Moses. Milton discusses the punishing of him and his
followers most accurately, including the locust, blood in the rivers, famine, and other things, which of course lead into the parting of the Red Sea being
discussed.

Archangel Lucifers Fall

  • 1. Archangel Lucifers Fall As humanity passed through the veil of reality the archangel Lucifer began to rebel. The angel Beelzebub whose main fault was his need to collect as much power as he could joined the archangel's rebellion along with Astaroth forming a trinity of darkness and villainy. In the end their plan came crashing down around them, and they were thrown out of Heaven. Lucifer along with his minions were thrown into an inescapable void, but their constantly growing hate caused the kingdom that would be known has Hell to fill the void. The fallen angels' combined power allowed them to speak with mankind causing humans to drown in a sea of pure evil. After centuries of being imprisoned Beelzebub possessed a mortal man whose body he used to construct seven ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two humans Samuel and Catherine Jacobson were two simple farmers that they knew no one would miss. The men brought Samuel and Catherine into a nearby forest where they tied the two to large wooden stakes that they hammered into the ground. With that done the men dipped a crude paintbrush into a bowl filled with blood that they had collected from newborn children. One of the men used the paintbrush to draw a circle around the two stakes then he drew eight arrows that went from the middle of the circle to the outside of the shape. The man put the paintbrush back in the clay bowl, and they all turned their gaze to Samuel and Catherine who are both unconscious. Two men pick up two pots filled with water and throw it on Samuel and Catherine who immediately awaken and let out bloodcurdling screams. Two yellow colored strips of cloth are tied around their mouths to prevent them from screaming. They watch as one of the men pulls a silver dagger out of his belt and dips it in the bowl of blood. The man walks over to his captives and uses the dagger to make a cut in Samuel's left hand and Catherine's right ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The panel was almost certainly commissioned as a private devotional image, not as part of a larger structure. While the identity of the patron is not known, the work was in the famed Barberini collection in Rome in the seventeenth century. Jia Jing lei Art History Professor Boyce November 20,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Just by looking at the image, there is a lot of empty space that is surrounded in the back ground. In that way, we would not pay attention to the background but the tension in the scene instead. Basically at first glance, there is a depiction of purity and grace on the beautiful oil master piece. The two figures of the Archangel and Virgin Mary are close together and it shows a scene of almost touching fingers while they try to reach for one another but seems like they would never join hands. The male figure of the archangel would carry a long feather like pen and it would bow down to the Virgin marry and tries to respectable speak to her. On the other hand, the Virgin Mary seems to be in authority because she is standing up and looking down at the Archangel. This creates tension in the painting while we question the social distinction between the two. Looking closely at the Virgin Mary, her eyes would be close. It is almost like she is resisting the contact from the Archangel and tried to stay away from him. Looking on the left, the Archangel have white wings and there is green–yellowish light that surrounds him and the red clothing on him show that he is there for good news. But the resistance from the Virgin Mary seem like she is unaware of what is happening and is unable to accept the annunciation from the angel. The Annunciation was presented in a jewel–like style would be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Comparing The Archangel Gabriel And The Virgin Of The... After Ancient art period, the Medieval art period started from the fall of Roman Empire in 400 A.D. to 1400 A.D. During the New Roman period, artworks about God, Saints and Angels as well as biblical scenes became more and more popular. Different from the realistic style of the Ancient Greek and Roman art, biblical scenes arts were created with iconic art style and more abstract and simplified, but the content was clear and easy to understand. Medieval artists created arts in order to decorating churches. • 5. Ledan Research Paper Ledan (currently going by the alias of Ledan "Leda" Hale) is an archangel/human hybrid, sometimes known as an "Archnephilim" (a phrase coined by Dean) and a witch, known or at least believed to be one of the only ones of his kind, maybe even the olnly one. He uses his witchcraft to perform spells on demand, occasionally for money but usually he'll do it for an nondescript favour (which you'll be bound to) that can be called in at any time. He was born in 339BC, in early Iron Age Sweden, and grew up believing, in his early years, he was an average human. However, he is the son of the archangel Jophiel (who died when he was two) and a powerful witch called ThyrvГЇ; making him very much not. As a type being not created by god he is considered by most angels to be an abomination, as a type of being not created by god is considered a blasphemy, and thus are hunted. Due to his mix of Archangel and Human he is probably at least near omnipotent (at least as near to it as an Archangel is), but is still (even after 2,353 years) in the stage of developing his powers. However, due to the hex that was recently placed on him, he's currently able to use a limited amount of power at a time; causing him to become weak after prologued use of the powers he has through his father's (his archangel) side. This has seemingly not affected his spells, however, and so he's still been able to continue his day–to–day ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. How Are Michael And Lucifer Alike The ultimate symbols for good and evil aren't all that different. God's most trusted warrior and the devil himself have more in common than one may think. Michael and Lucifer are similar in their love for their father, their celestial abilities, and the common wish to avoid the prophesied fight between them. Michael, the big brother, loyal to an absent father, and Lucifer, the little brother, rebellious ofGod's plan may have a few conflicting beliefs on how things should work, but that doesn't mean there are no similarities between the two. For example, the two archangels have loved their father, God, since the day they were created. Well, one more than the other. To clarify, Lucifer was God's favorite until He created the humans. The younger archangel rejected his father's command to bow down to his new creations and love them more than they loved God. "Father, I can't," Lucifer would say, "these human beings are flawed and murderous. How can you ever expect me to love them more than you?" And for that God had Michael cast him to hell, all because he refused to love humans more than his father. Does the punishment fit the crime? Michael didn't think so, but he loved God so ... In Richard Cavendish's book, The Powers of Evil5, he listed the Watchers as the fallen angels that magicians call forth in ceremonial magic. According to Holy Scripture and tradition, he has interceded for humanity multiple times and continues to serve as the Defender of the Faith. St Michael is most often invoked for protection from invasion by enemies and from civil war, and for the defeat of adversaries on the field of battle. The name Michael means "like unto God" or "Who is like unto God?" The Lord appointed the Holy Archangel Michael, the faithful servitor of God, as Chief Commander. The Archangel Michael defended Israel in all its misfortunes. He appeared to Joshua, Son of Navi, and revealed the will of the Lord at the taking of Jericho (Josh 5:13–16). The power of the great Chief Commander of God was manifest in the annihilation of the 185 thousand soldiers of the Assyrian emperor Sennacherib (4/2 Kings 19:35); also in the smiting of the impious leader Heliodorus (2 Macc. 3: 24–26); and in the protection of the Three Holy Youths: Ananias, Azarias and Misail, thrown into the fiery furnace for their refusal to worship an idol (Dan 3:22–25). Through the will of God, the Chief Commander Michael transported the Prophet Habbakuk , from Judea to Babylon, to give food to Daniel in the lions' den (Dan. 14:33–37). The Archangel Michael disputed with the devil over the body of the holy Prophet Moses (Jude 1:9). Guardian Angel Movie Analysis Gabriel "Gabby" Messinger, a Guardian Angel who has trouble following the rules and is known for meddling in the love live's of others, is tasked by the Angel Michael to help the town of Angel Falls find its Christmas spirit again. First of all, I want to say that this film surpassed all my expectations. Sometimes, I am hesitant when it comes to "angel films," but because of who the three stars are (and especially because of the male lead), I was determined to give this film a chance. Furthermore, it is airing on Hallmark, and how could I not watch it? If you are looking for a film that follows the Scriptural teachings of angels, this might not be for you. I could speak to all the reasons why the theology of the movie is unsound, but that is not why I watched this film. The film is so uncommonly well–written and acted with such depth that I could care less about whether the story could ever happen or not. The values of the film are intact, and if nothing else, I applaud Hallmark for emphasizing the concept of "free will" (something most Christians and church people esteem) and including the Lord's Prayer (how often do we see that on network TV?). I did not plan on becoming emotional during this movie, but I literally spent the last twenty minutes or so crying off and on because the story was remarkably poignant (and I wasn't certain how it would end) and the three main actors––Rachel Boston, Paul Greene, and Beau Bridges––are such phenomenal artists! I always looked upon this saint as my favorite saint because of his strong relationship with God and because I knew this saint the longest. I also chose this saint because his name means "God Heals." Saint Raphael the Archangel had an interesting life in faith and a strong relationship with God. Most people know this saint because he is one of the seven archangels and a part of the group of three archangels talked about in the Bible. Saint Raphael's feastday is September 29th. • 14. Biblical Allusion During The Romantic Age Biblical allusion during the Romantic Age was not uncommon. Because Biblical images and references were in the minds of most Romantic readers, a poet would often use this strategy to contextualize an assertion being made. Wordsworth is no different. However, the level to which he uses this technique within his poetry fluctuates. The Ruined Cottage only contains two obvious examples, while Michael is rich with Biblical imagery and allusion. Because of this difference, the Biblical allusion within the two poems will be discussed within three categories–those which are concerned with a connection to nature, those which inspire the hope of salvation, and those which deal with the creation and deterioration of covenants. Delving first into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She is presented as greedy and neglectful of the inherent spirituality in things, and possibly had false intentions behind sending Luke away. It seems this is a warning from Wordsworth. It is also valuable to note that Michael's troubles begin when his nephew defaults on a loan. However, the poem never labels him as nephew but instead, "his brother's son" (211). If Michael's name is meant to conjure the name of the archangel Michael, it can't be ignored that one of the brothers of that archangel is Satan. Viewing the name this way creates a parallel which makes Michael's nephew a quasi–son of evil. Because of the nephew's "industrious life" (212), he is disconnected from the land and therefore amoral. With these instances of naming, Wordsworth seems to be commenting on how morality is connected to living life by means of nature rather than by means of material or industry. Turning now to allusions that inspire hope, we look towards Robert's Sunday clothes in The Ruined Cottage. "Still in its place. His Sunday garments hung / Upon the self–same nail, his very staff / Stood undisturbed behind the door" (432–34). The garments that are hung up, are not just regular clothes, but his Sunday garments. This small detail gives the image it's religious tone. Continuing, the word staff certainly alludes to the staff of Moses in the bible, who is known for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Angels Essay Angels An angel is a pure spirit created by God. The Old Testament theology included the belief in angels: the name applied to certain spiritual beings or intelligences of heavenly residence, employed by God as the ministers of His will. HISTORY Are Angels ambassadors sent from God to guide us, protect us or bring messages from heaven? The word angel comes from the Greek word "angelos" which means messenger. The Bible says that God has appointed many angels to those who love God and call to Him, "Psalms 91:11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways." Matthew 1:20–24 Dionysius, a 5th or 6th century writer gives us the hierarchical order of the angels. The first group is the seraphim, cherubim and thrones. The word seraphim (singular is saraph) is taken from the fiery imagery often associated with the Presence of God–– Ezek. 1:27. Cherubim are represented as guardians with many wings. • 17. Is Art Pointless? : Art Meaningless? Ivan Preciado HU130– Visual Language & Culture Prof. Stephen Van Dyck December 13, 2017 Fall 2016 Is Art Pointless? That are two kinds of people that exist when perceiving art; ones that view art and wonder what it is that the piece is trying to say and are then moved by the piece once they see what idea the piece is portraying, and the other kinds of people are ones that see art as asinine and simply walk past it without taking a second glance at it. After viewing a painting of Jesus, Dorothy Allison wrote that she,"took the notion that art should surprise and astonish, and hopefully make you think something you had not thought until you saw it." Dorothy Allison is a person that views art and wonders what it is that the piece is trying to say and is then moved by the piece because of the message it is portraying. This is exactly what art should do and should be perceived with great attention. The reason for art is to tell a story. In cavemen days, it began as a method for storytelling, using visuals that cavemen would draw such as pictures of them hunting, fishing, and etc. Art is something that should be astonishing and surprising, and bring forth enlightenment about a certain subject or influence the way you view that subject matter after viewing a piece of art. Art without meaning is like a beautiful woman with no brains or heart, she could look as gorgeous as humanly possible, but without her having a purpose to her life or morals in that woman's heart, she will ... • 18. Bicci Di Lorenzo's The Annunciation: Early Renaissance "The Annunciation" Religion has typically been used in history as the narrative for many pieces of artwork. The Early Renaissance was renowned for the religious themes the artists would use in their work. This period is also recognized for its focus on humanism, which refers to the cultural and educational reformation. Humanism draws many of its themes and styles from the ancient Greeks and Romans. The Renaissance spread throughout Europe and continued to focus on the rediscovery of these predecessors. One of these paintings is Bicci di Lorenzo's, "The Annunciation," which was painted during the Early Italian Renaissance. "The Annunciation" is a Biblical story when the Archangel Gabriel visited Mary and announced to her that she would bear the Son of God. This painting's formal elements have similar characteristics of the Early Renaissance Italian Paintings and some influences from the Early Renaissance Flemish paintings and Gothic paintings. This painting is also similar to other artwork such as, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another important symbol in Bicci di Lorenzo's "The Annunciation," are the lilies that Gabriel is holding. The lilies symbolize purity and truth. Purity refers to Mary because she is a virgin and truth refers to the truth of the word of God. Lilies and doves are typically used as symbols when artists depict this narrative. For example, Robert Campin in the "Merode Altarpiece" places lilies on the table to symbolizing her purity. Another symbol is the Bible near Mary in Bicci di Lorenzo's painting. However, Seth is more than he appears to be as well. Ascending Angel is a fantasy written by Ellen Wefler. This book is an interesting twist on the classic theme of good versus evil. It includes dark angels or dangels as they are nicknamed. It also includes archangels and guardian angels. Unfortunately, I feel that the way Ms. Wefler addresses this theme and iconic beings may be off–putting to many readers. Thus, this is the first issue that I feel needs attention. Everyone has their own views on angels, demons, and religion. The author clearly voices her opinions in this story. In the book, one of the archangels makes it perfectly clear that someone who commits suicide will go to hell. While I know that there are those out there that hold this opinion, I also know that there are those that this will greatly offend. • 27. History of Biblical Angels History of Biblical Angels Throughout history, you will find many religions discuss angels. But what is an angel? Is it a mythical creature with wings sent to protect you? Some may think so; others have different thoughts on the matter. But when did talk of angels first occur? Have they always been around? In this paper, I will attempt to define what an angel is and what they do. I will also discuss how angels differ between religions, as well as try to pinpoint the origin of angels. I will explain the similarities and differences between these religions and their ideas of angels. The term angel is derived from the Greek word angelos , meaning "messenger." This word represents an earlier Hebrew word, mal'akh that is also interpreted as the role of messenger or minister. It is safe to say that many people will regard angels as messengers between Heaven and earth. In many biblical stories, angels are sending messages. Some messages are announcements of birth like the ones that were sent to Abraham and to Samson's father. Other messages encourage actions as the ones did to Elijah and David. In these cases, angels were bringing messages from the divine world, or Heaven, to men and women in the earthly human world. It is believed that the messages with angels also work in the reversed sense as well; meaning from human being to angel to God. It is said that 'the soul speaks to the angel, the angel to the cherub, the cherub to God.' This type of communication would explain the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 30. The Reign Of The Byzantine Empire Throughout the reign of the Byzantine Empire, sculpting and architecture were the pinnacle of ancient Byzantine art; leaving a vast collection of masterpieces for later cultures to admire, and even adopt their majestic styles and techniques. A focal period during the lifespan of the Byzantine Empire was the reign of Justinian the Great (527–565 A.D.), which is also referred to as the Golden Age. It is during this time that architecture and sculpture begin to flourish, along with other mediums of art such as mosaics, murals, and illuminative manuscripts. Very many religious works of art were created during this time as well, however very few survived the onset of the iconoclast uproar in 726. One work of art that managed to remain unharmed by Islamic efforts to destroy religious images is Archangel Michael, an ivory diptych from the early sixth century. The artist of this sculpture is unknown; however it is presumed that it was created in the court workshop in Constantinople. Artists were usually servants to the court and created many pieces of art including byzantine crosses, and illuminative manuscripts. The diptych consists of two carved panels, usually made of wood or ivory, that are hinged together in efforts to create a book–like appearance. • 31. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down―that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him." The passage begins by stating that there will be a war in heaven, one between Michael and Satan. Michael is God's archangel whose name means "one like God". This leads to the possibility that Michael is Jesus Christ. Jesus has a nature "like God" and can be argued that the word "archangel" might mean not "ruling angel" but "the ruler of the angels." Add to the fact that the word archangel is never used in the plural... "(Becker). These facts are strong evidence that Michael is the savior Jesus Christ. Satan is the dragon that is referred to in the text. The dragon is not specifically described in this particular passage, but earlier in the chapter there is a glimpse as to what he looked like. According to Revelation 12:3, "...a great red dragon having seven heads ten horns, and on his head were seven diadems." • 32. Jehovah's Belief Of Jesus And The Archangel Michael 3.Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Jesus and the archangel Michael are the same person. JW believe that Jesus had three periods of existence: 1.In his pre–human existence he was called "God's only begotten Son because Jehovah created him directly. As the "first–born of all creation, Jesus was used by God to create all other things. Jesus also had the personal name of Michael the archangel at this time. 2.The second stage of Jesus' life was here on earth. He willingly submitted as God transferred his life from heaven to the womb of a Jewish virgin named Mary. 3.He became the Messiah at his baptism, was executed on a torture stake, and rose again spiritually, but not physically. Christian Response: There is absolutely no biblical basis for identifying Jesus with Michael the archangel. Also, the bible teaches that Jesus was the Messiah at birth, and coequal with the Father from all eternity: Philippians 2:5–7 ~ Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bondservant, and being made in the likeness of men. 1 Colossians 1:15 ~ He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. The Greek word used here for first born is Prototokos, which means First in Rank, Supreme. Hebrews 1:4 ~ become so much better than the angels. So we see that Jesus did not regard His equality with God as something to be "grasped." This word means to be utilized or asserted. Instead of asserting His equality with the Father, Jesus "emptied Himself" which means he laid aside His privileges as God and took on the form of a man. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. She is the lioness of the angelic realm, and as such, she champions those who cannot fend for themselves and are often victims of the power of others, particularly women, children, and animals. The Massacre of the Innocents shows King Herod in the background watching as Roman soldiers stab and dismember babies in the streets. Mothers are seen grasping to their babies despite the swinging swords from these soldiers. The mothers look in horror as is explained in the bible. • 36. Gabriel Monologue Mistletoe You were going to kill that archangel. Gabriel had been in a festive mood since December 1st, and he'd chosen to decorate the bunker when he had been bored one day. Unfortunately for you, that meant he'd hung up dozens of mistletoe bunches everywhere. There was mistletoe outside your door, in the hallway into the kitchen, and– of course– in every single doorway. But that wasn't even the worst part. The worst bit was that Gabriel enchanted them so that if someone accidentally walked under one, they couldn't move from that spot until someone kissed them. And God forbid someone get stuck under there with another person... Neither of them would escape unscathed. Of course, for the first few days there were a lot of the boys accidentally ... "What kind of prank is it supposed to be?" Castiel questioned, "It doesn't seem like a very good one." Gabriel snorted and you glared menacingly at him. The archangel didn't seem to care that much, if his carefree expression was any indication. "Whoops!" Gabriel exclaimed. He shoved his hand against your back and sent you flying through the air and caused you to run into Cas. You stumbled as you fell against him, but you brushed him off when the confused angel attempted to help you. Castiel released you from his grip when you tried to take a step away. You couldn't. "Gabriel, stop this right now." Your voice was a deadly whisper, your voice trembling with anger. The irritation that you'd been feeling toward the archangel had blown into full on rage. Gabriel smirked. "I don't think so," he said callously, "You know what you have to do, and I know that if I leave the two of you to figure out your feelings on your own– it'll never happen." What the hell was he on about? Your feelings were completely one–sided and Gabriel knew that– so why was he forcing this

Supernatural As Describe By Merriam Webster Supernatural as describe by Merriam–Webster is of or relating to an order of existence beyond the visible observable universe; of or relating to God or a god, demigod, spirit, or devil departing from what is usual or normal especially so as to appear to transcend the laws of nature: attributed to an invisible agent (as a ghost or spirit). As for me, I am talking about Supernatural, a television show on the CW channel that was created by Eric Kripke. This show is based on religion coming from old testament to new testament to other gods and religion proffer such as demons, angels, God, Lucifer, Zeus, and many much more gods and mystical creatures. Although there is much to write on this show, I have chosen to write on the two main characters and how they each fall in a sort of religion aspect and will give a brief history on the show with their symbols, signs, Archangels, Angels and Demons, and some other fun stuff of the show. The adventure begins the night Mary was killed by the green–eyed demon leaving John to raise Sam and Dean. John did not understand why the demon went after his family, so he decided to go after the demon and has been chasing it since 1983. 2005 that 's where the show really begins when Dean goes looking for Sam at college in order for Sam to help him look for their father, who has gone on a hunting trip and hasn 't return from it. • 39. The Warrior Angels: A Letter To The Warrior Angels The Warrior Angels, commonly known as the Powers, patrol and protect all that is within the cosmic fabric. They are clad in armor of blinding white light and carry swords of fire and light. The sole purpose of these angelic warriors, which includes Archangels Michael and Cassiel, is to provide Divine protection. They stand wing tip to wing tip facing outward in a circle around that which they are protecting, and using both their vambraces and swords of light deflect any and all negativity away from our sacred space. Anytime that we feel threatened by negative forces, including the malicious intentions of others, people with a strong negative vibration or attitude, dangerous situations, or even the onslaught or existence of evil, for example, we can call on them for protection for ourselves as well as for others. They will come, not one, but many, because they work as a cooperative group for the protection of all. The greater the threat or danger, the greater the number of those who come. Giovanni uses linear perspective with a single vanishing point at the center of the painting. Vista del Molo illustrates a palace on the right side of the painting with a waterfront marketplace to the left. Linear perspective is used to give depth to the paint. However, this is not the only technique the artist to show depth. The artist also paints the foreground much clearer with the background lack contrast and details to show the distance that the object are from the foreground. In the background most things tend to blend with the environment, the clouds with the blue color of the sky and the buildings all seem to be connected. As with Entrance to a Palace a light source is used on the left side of the painting to create shadows giving depth to each individual subject in the painting. The change in value is used to emphasize certain things such as the building on the left. Bright, vibrant color show that this building was of much more importance that the rest of the subjects in the artwork. The architecture seen in the buildings gives a clue of when they were built.
