An IntroductionAravind Eye Hospital is a Non Profit Eye Hospital founded by Dr.Venkataswamy  to provide quality eye care.Founded to treat Ocular problems with a special focus on cataract treatment.In 1992 there were 20 million blind people in India with another 2 million being added every year.Aravind eye hospital treated more than a million patients every year.

The Dindigul camp was successfully run primarily because of effective marketing strategies adopted by Soundararaja Mills.Although 150 were selected for surgery out of 800 people, the turnout seemed to be less.Aravind consciously made an effort to move away from surgery camps because of higher costs and low quality of services involved.
All camp organizers along with Dr. V used to meet every week to discuss the issues faced by them and how to improve the propaganda.Dr. V aimed at spreading the Aravind model to various parts of India, Asia and Africa and provide a cure for blindness wherever it is present.
