This script tells the story of Lieutenant John Blandford who falls in love with Hollis Meynell through their exchanged letters and voices recordings. He is nervous to meet her in person. When they finally meet, it is revealed that the woman he initially met was an old woman, testing him. He later finds the real Hollis Meynell and they profess their love for each other in front of an audience.

Julius-Narrator King-Lieutenant John Blandford
Jansen- Narrator and Old woman Rose Ann-Hollis Meynell and Girl
*(While Julius is narrating, King will stare at the clock and will walk, back and forth around the room)
Julius: *(Narrates)…because he could not control it.
King: Im getting nervous but I don’t know why? It seems that I am excited to see the woman that had
been part of my life.
*(removes his beard and badges on his clothes then sits with a letter and a pen)
**(rose ann as Hollis Meynell, enters then sits with a letter and a pen)
Julius: *(Continues)… the worst of fighting.
*( King is afraid and nervous while writing then plays the voice record of King)
**(Rose ann will read the letter, afraid too.)
King: *(voice record) My dear, I am so afraid because my plane had been caught in midst of a pack of
enemy fighters. I saw the grinning face of one of the enemy pilots. And now, im still reminiscing about it.
Sincerely yours, Lieutenant John Blandford.
*( After playing, rose ann will write a letter too, concerned. After that exits and change outfit to girl)
Julius: *(Continues)… he had received her answer.
*(King will read the letter, now feel comfortable)
**(plays the voice record of rose ann ‘’Of course you fear…{on the book})
***( King puts his beard and badges back. plays ‘’John, John, John’’ .Then becomes more uncomfortable
then stares at the clock)
Jansen: *(Narrates)…a girl passed close to him…
*(rose ann as girl will walk in front of King after that change outfit to Hollis)
Jansen: (Continues)… Hollis Meynell had frankly told him she was thirty.
King: Wait…..uhmm..it wasn’t red flower…geeeezz…im kind of dizzy waiting for the woman, I fell in
love…Well what of it?
Jansen: *(Continues)…telephone bok and found her address…
*(King will open and read the book then will find a bookplate then removes his beard and badges on his
clothes then sits with a letter and a pen)
**(rose ann as Hollis enters sitting like in the first part)
Rose ann: He has written!

4. Jansen: *(Continues)… and she loved him….
Rose ann: He didn’t write a letter for me? But its okay, I should send him a letter…
*(plays each voice records)
Rose ann: You didn’t send me letters but its okay because I trust you and I really love you!
King: Would you mind send me a photograph of yours?
Jansen: *(Continues) …of course but she had explained..
Rose ann: If your feeling for me any reality... {On the book}
*(while playing the voice record, Jansen exits then change outfit)
**(rose ann as Hollis exits then King puts beard and badges back)
***(King stares at the clock, nervous)
Julius: *(Narrates)…she curved her lips.
*(rose ann walks murmuring)
Rose ann: Going my way soldier?
Julius: *(Continues)…on the rumpled lapel of her coat...
*(While Julius is narrating, Jansen enters as old woman while rose ann exits)
Julius: *(Continues)…blue leather copy of Of human bondage, which was to identify him to her.
King: This would not be love, but it would be something precious, something perhaps even rarer than
love—a friendship for which he had been and must ever be grateful.
*(King will fix himself, choked then facing with Jansen, right hand ready to shake)
King: I’m Lieutenant John Blandford, and you--- you are Miss Meynell. I’m so glad you could meet.
May---may I take you to dinner?
Julius: *(Narrates)…in a tolerant smile.
Jansen: *(smiles) I don’t know what this is all about son……………….so I didn’t mind to oblige you.
King: Really? So it’s a test given to me. Thank you so much ma’am.
*(jansen exits then rose ann enters at the back of king)
King: *(coughs) uhhmm… Ms. Hollis Meynell? I’m glad I found you!
Rose ann: Hi, Lieutenant John Blandford. Im also glad we meet each other. Now!
King: Am I dreaming? I love you!
Rose ann: I love you too, John. *(hug each other)
Julius: At last, they found each other standing at front of many people happily together! The end!
