Dear Sir/Madam, 
I would like to express my interest in applying for the position, Financial Planning Assistant. I learned of 
the vacancy from the website of Jobstreet. 
I graduated from University of Santo Tomas with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy in 
October 2004. 
I am currently employed in Philippine Airlines. I started out in Refunds Division as an Accounting Clerk. 
My main responsibilities under this position were to process refund applications and to attend to follow-ups 
and inquiries made over the counter, email and phone. Thus, I was exposed to dealing and 
interacting with customers having different nationalities. My two years of stay with the division trained 
me on how to deal with challenging customers and handle each situation positively. I was able to 
develop my oral and written skills in English and Filipino because of this customer service experience. 
At present, I’m under the Finance Procedures Division as Officer in Charge. I’ve been with the division 
for 6 years now. My primary work responsibility is inclined towards managing and preparing 
documentation of procedures for the different accounting divisions under the Financial Services 
Department. I ensure compliance to the procedures being implemented and see to it that controls are 
in place. I prepare fill-out procedures, quick references and accounting bulletins which the Department 
or external users makes use as references. Thus, I am exposed to making use of Microsoft Word, Excel, 
Powerpoint, Oracle Tutor in producing my work outputs. I manage my working files in our Teamroom 
and Document Library. I always see to it that my documents are organized and updated. 
I also support different divisions and deal with managers and users attending to their issues and 
concerns. I provide assistance to external clients such as travel agents and other departments in PAL by 
providing training programs and attending to process inquiries. I’ve been equipped with in-house 
trainings for business writing and effective oral communication to enhance my skills. 
I’ve done special projects such as conducting business process review for accounting divisions of 
Philippine Airlines and Air Philippines. This taught me to give attention to details and company 
practices. I’ve also been made part of project teams where I learned how to practice deep sense of 
team work and cooperation in order to achieve smooth implementation of the new projects. 
Given my different duties, I’ve been trained to plan and organize the projects/activities so as to meet 
target deadlines. I am used to working single-handedly on a project or working with a partner or a 
team. I’ve been equipped to practice flexibility/adaptability given the different people (manager, 
colleague, external clients) and circumstances I encounter in my work.
I am willing to learn more and develop my skills given the opportunity to join your company. I am very 
hard working and responsible towards work. I have strong organization and time management skills. I 
am eager to live up to the challenge and make a difference. I look forward to your consideration on my
