This document contains an extract from the Criminal Procedure Code of 1898 related to searching houses suspected of containing stolen property, forged documents, or obscene objects. It allows certain classes of magistrates, upon receiving information and conducting an inquiry, to authorize police officers to search such places. The police are empowered to seize any stolen, unlawful, forged, or obscene items found; take custody of any persons found complicit in related activities; and convey seized items or persons before a magistrate. Provisions regarding counterfeit coins also apply to illegal metal tokens and materials for making such tokens.
