2. Environment Coordinator checks for the availability of environments and creates a testset in ALM
(Application Lifecycle Management)
Individual tester In a virtual machine or automated system (R3-Result Reasons and Response) in REE
(Remote Execution Engine) configures a windows session with the registry files.
The results are stored in the I drive(slcnas562) server as well as R3 database.
The results are analyzed and updated in the ALM.
The following is the order of execution of scripts on various environments-ORACLE-Linux/Solaris, MSS-
Windows, DB2-Unix, DB2-ZOS, Sybase and Informix. The test-set in the ALM consists of the automated
regression tests( Full Regression/Limited Regression). The Automation execution responsibility is shared by
various individuals based on the Product areas and I was one of them and the product areas given to me were
Query, Mobile Application Platform, Integration Broker and XML Publisher. All selenium scripts are executed
from ClearCase and PTF scripts are executed from PTF client. During execution if there is an Environment issue
then the Function tester like me will fix the issue or if there is any script issue then the functional tester will add
the steps according the ALM repair it and then re-run and Pass the script or else open a MyHelp ticket to have the
issue resolved by the Functional QA and the functional tester will set the ALM status to blocked or if the issue is
problem ticket then the functional tester will change the bug report type to problem and notify the development
that the issue needs to be looked at and refer the MyHelp ticket number in the bug number field in the ALM.
Finally the Automation coordinators use the PTQA Audit Utility/QUART to generate the report.
