2. 2.- GREEN PEACEFUL PATROLS
During the break, when they are at the playground, children
are organized in green peaceful patrols, (2 different pairs of
children every week in every area of the playground). They
wear high-visibility waistcoat and they control that
everything is clean and their mates use recycling bins. They
try also to solve conflicts among their partners. If they
cannot manage to solve these conflicts, they call teachers.
3. 3.- THINKING ABOUT A PEACEFUL PLACE
With older children (primary 6-11)
When children are involved in a wrong, impolite behavior or
conflict. They draw or write (depending on their age and
level) about the situation they have provoked. Them, they try
to imagine feelings of other people that have been damaged
and propose peaceful solutions to the same situations that
they should use in the future. They have to sign the
compromise to fulfil their proposals.
4. 4.-KIVA PROGRAM
We are working about it in another ERASMUS+ K219
project, some of the basic ideas about KIVA:
- Talking on class about feelings, corrects habits at school
and at home, how do you want to be treated....
- Focus on the people who supports the leader (those who see
but don't act to defend the victim)
– The victim should have tools to stop this situation in a pacific
way.
– A responsible teacher controls always the situation inside
and outside the classroom (during breaks, lunch time, etc.)
S/he writes down everything that can be interesting in the
case.
– The Kiva monitor asks the victim. Them, s/he interviews the
supporters (it's important they don't have any contact
among them and with the leader during the interviews)
– The leader is called and advised about her/his conduct after
have all the information from the victim and supporters.
Finally the leader has to sign the compromise of modify
her/his behavior.
