Recruitment is process of attracting, screening, selecting, and onboarding a qualified person
for a job. Recruitment strategy determines future of any organization as its linked with future
workforce.

Below is explained how six sigma process is best for recruitment process :

To put in brief Six Sigma philosophy is about using a systematic, scientific, data driven
approach that leads to the best possible process (the best does not remain best for long so
there is a need for continual improvement and more improvement projects periodically)

Six Sigma includes below stages:

Define — Identify the problem
Measure — Establish metrics to quantify
Analyze — Figure out what the metrics tell you
Improve Control — Find a way to sustain improvements

One of the keys to Six Sigma is breaking down processes into manageable pieces and
improving each piece to affect the overall performance.

Below I have explained how each process of six sigma contribute in recruitment strategy :

        Define –
Using appropriate Six Sigma tools, it defines the problem (as inability to meet SLA for
recruitment )This problem is converted into a charter document and discussed in a
senior management meeting. As senior management gets convinced about the
opportunity for improvement and sees the possibility of good return on investment
through this project, hence it define the problem

        Measure phase –

Company prepares a detailed process map of the current process
It also checks and fixes the measurement system and brings visibility and accuracy
,Company now measures and documents its current process performance to be at
sigma level and fixes a target of improvement
Analyze phase –

Using appropriate six sigma techniques, team at company now identifies that various
factors that influence the recruitment success. Company now identifies the factors
that are critical to recruitment success.

Improve phase –

Having studies the root cause for the defects in the processes an effort is initiated to
minimize these defects. The new alternate process (improved process map) is
documented, piloted, validated and implemented. The company records the benefits
         with the next recruitment drive.

Control phase –

Company puts in the right controls in the improved process so that the benefits can
be sustained over a period of time.

Below are some of the issues which organization may face now a days :

1. Company will not be able to identify the problem / Delay In identification of problem
2. Failure to measure actual workforce required for future
3. Loss of talent pool in short duration
4. Failure to retain good image within employees/media
5. No improvement in Recruitment process
6. Organization is not prepared for change
7. Profits cannot be sustained
8. Reactive approach rather than pro-active approach
9. No proper method for recruitment
10. Company might not sustain control over cost
11. Fail to attract suitable candidate
Below are the ways in which six sigma model helped organization (
         Martrix )

    1. Understanding of hiring needs from departments properly.
    2. Identifying the right approach for recruitment drive
    3. Selecting the message (including introduction to company and career prospects)
    4. Selecting the right media for recruitment.
    5. The short-listing mechanism.
    6. Making the offer with terms and conditions
    7. On-boarding and induction process.
    8. Company should be able to control over cost
    9. Can attract best talent using continuous improving recruitment strategy
    10. Always ready for continuous improvement ( management attention is taken care )

FinallyLike in case of Matrix six sigma model proved a better process in place and
removal of gaps, delays, errors, and ineffective communication (at the right places),
Company starts attracting the best talent more effectively.

Hence six sigma is appropriate in hiring process of the company.
