When Two Worlds Collide: Data Strategy and Strategic Planning for 'Smart Gove...Sarah Barns
The rise of the data economy and support for ‘government as platform’ models of digital governance have seen growing appetite among city governments to invest in public-facing dashboards, which use open data channels to promote greater transparency in the monitoring a city’s well-being and functional performance. Well known examples include the London Data Store, the Dublin Dashboard and the NYC Open Data.
As the dashboard model grows traction and is embraced by Australian governments, this paper reflects on the institutional design of city dashboards, as they cut across the worlds of ICT policy and strategic urban planning. Based on recent case study research across Sydney, London and New York, this presentation compares a series of dashboard examples with a view to understanding the relationship between data-driven discovery programs, open data release channels or platforms, and the mechanisms of city performance management and strategic planning. In particular, it addresses the ‘back end’ support programs that support data discovery and harvesting; the challenges of persistent ‘data shadows’; and the forums needed to support alignment between data discovery, citizen engagement and strategic planning.
The analysis highlights the need to address the rise of city dashboards not simply as end products, but as more open-ended processes through which decision-makers, researchers and urbanists and technologists can seek to test the potential for data-driven methodologies to guide responses to contemporary city challenges.

Coming 20 years, the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations expects that the cuts and retirements will reduce the number of civil servants in governmental organisations drastically. Such a change will have an effect on the quality of the services it provides.
By making current expenses and decision-making processes more transparent, citizens can be incorporated in the work the government is doing now. The deployment of Open Data can contribute to this kind of transparency.
By using the visualization of a dashboard, citizens will have an insight on data, expenses and processes. This creates the possibility to outsource the management of neighbourhoods to citizens who live there.
During this workshop we will create a mockup of a dashboard by looking at ourselves as citizens and brainstorm what we want to see in this managing tool.
Smart Cities, Smart Citizens and the case for the CitySDKFrank Kresin
Presentation at Information Access in Smart Cities workshop in Amsterdam, 13/04/2014 - on how smart citizens should be the focus in smart cities, and what CitySDK does to make it possible. The presentation starts with some design rules for smarter cities, then introduces Waag Society, and quickly moves on to the Amsterdam Case for Open Data. Then the shortcomings of this approach are described, after which it introduces the City Service Development Kit - a set of bottom up, harmonized API's for software development that scales across cities and countries. Some examples are presented, and it gets back to the central thesis: design smart cities with the people, not for or against them.

Presentation to Smart Cities 2019 Conference, focusing on how smart city development models have changed over the past two decades, and what is needed to shift to a more positive story.

cancer becoming major death reason throughout the world. modern medicne is not upto mark in treating cancer because of drug resistance and many side effects. there is necessary for multi target drug therapy with less side efffects which can be only possible through ayurveda through proper research. we have identified multi target drug therapy either by single plant derivatives or by combination of synergistic plant derivatives to target different pathways of cancer cell progression at a time. tinosporin berberibe , curcumin, ellagic acid , and other derivatives derived from same herbs like essential oil, bhasma of same herb and other derivatives combined together in dose dependent ratio has shown good activity against cancer cell progression and survival
introduction to Ayurveda is simplified foe beginners . this presentation gives brief information on history of ayurveda, method treatment , disease and prevention. this article finds more insight to healthy way of living through ayurveda. tridosha, datu and parkriti has been briefed well and simplified.

Technology has the potential to transform how we organize our lives, businesses and societies. But if the era we are now entering is to be more inclusive, equitable and empowering, we must start by examining the fundamentally different nature of a physical world fueled by digital connectivity.

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.
